Then, why can't i pull out my Graul Mauler, now that its Level 34? I do have 2/2/0/2 and should be able to tame Level 34. There must be other factors than the Pet Levels.

Those numbers have to do with your effectiveness at taming, not the limit of pet levels. Since the patch Max Pet Levels ( or something like that ) dictates the level of pet you can tame. So that plus 90 compared to plus 50 only says that you have a better chance of taming wild creatures vs vicious....which of course is true.

Read the guides and searched and cant find anything on what im looking for.

basically i want to become a CH despite people trying to put me off lol. anyway the question:

i try taming various animals in the wild and its saying"you lackthe skill" (or something to that affect) these were low level around corellia.

i also tried taming a BE pet i made which is lvl 20 and the same thing occured.

i just wondered if i had to tame specific lvls of pets, as i progress i can do higher pets.

any information on this is greatly apreciated and ive prepared myself for an inevitable flamming

You do have novice CH, right?

At novice CH, you can only tame creatures CL 12 and below. I'd try a cu pa or a wrix, they're about as big a critter as you can tame now. You also will not be able to tame any creature that is vicious when grown (i.e. is red on the radar to you) until you've trained a couple of taming line boxes.

As a novice CH, you can tame creatures up to level 12. Each box you get in CH ups that number by a set amount (+2 for each of the first two boxes of each tree, +3 for the third, +5 for the 4th) and Master CH gives you a final +10 for a grand total of 70.

i tried various creatures around corellia and their deffenatly within level 12 so im not sure whats up

and yeh i have got Novice CH, im not that blonde

OK im at a cupa right now and still the same thing, ive got novice CH and tried the hotkey in my toolbar and /tame

neither work, this a known issue? and does anyone know a fix?

They also have to be Babies. Can't tame full grown animals.

Also if this is the case, eventually you will come across pups or hachlings, these are not Babies. They will have (Baby) behind their name.

I moved to Corellia I have no vendor and I don't know the coords to my house, but it doesn't really matter cause all my pets are in the tool box, I may have some in space, but that doesn't really concern you either.

I never use the hot key.

first, make sure it says A Cu Pa (baby) cause you can only tame one's that are baby.

then instead of using the hot key try this.

target animal

then type /follow

then when you are in range, type /tame

what the problem "might" be is that you are trying to tame an adult, we can only tame babies. it's a common mistake that I'm pretty sure many of us have made.

Try getting a +25 Tamming bonus clothing, you will need it eventually anyway, I would try that before dropping the profession. Or make sure you have it, I have tried thought I had skills that I didn't several times, because I didn't have the skill points available to pick up the skill, and since I usually play at night I don't get the sound reinforcments.

just tried logging out for the 45 minutes and still happens.

yep i tried babies and still saying same thing so ill write a ticket i guess. probably have to drop the profession and take it again.

its a good start to my chosen career lol

well im now able to tame after the server restart it seems so thats fixed. thanks for the help guys

now to find a good area to master this profession

how much would a +25 Tamming bonus clothing sell for roughly? i know it depends on the server, im short for cash right now so doubt ill be able to afford it
