Creature Handler Archive
Thread: So you want to be a Creature Handler. New CH FAQ V7. Updated for the NGE
I can freely admit now that I was the "lucky" purchaser of a Blurrg during the time that an issue arose with certain BE pets that caused them to have fantastic stats but only be lvl 0(1).
I'm not sure if these fit into the "pre-nerf" category but that pet is still the same at the moment.. The only thing now is that I can never respec him.. He will only ever be a museum piece..
As he is lvl 0(1), I cannot respec his stats as he will become the worst pet in the game. Also, I cannot respec his level as his stats are over 11k. Which means his level will be around the 220-230 mark.
A sad end to the greatest pet I ever owned.. It's a shame you can't drop pets in a house.. He would make an excellent addition to a CH museum...
The pets current level.

Is this based on the pets current level (as it grows) or its' adult level? I've been using CL1 babies to attack bigger critters but still only get 1 point of XP, which became 2 points (but is now 1 again on W/C servers currently)

Lots of 'Cannot attack or react while riding a vehicle' goodness.

Uncheck auto attack for one thing. And if that dosent work press escape to exit combat

Will that allow you to follow fast moving babies too?
This is guaranteed. No matter if you forget the auto-attack toggle or not.
Fast moving babes were a problem pre-CU. Thier really isnt a solution to that except for maskscent and hoping you get it on the firs try :/

Very informative joker just want to add a few points.
1. The level 1 pets which is actually brought about by a formula goof the devs let slip through. I have talked to CSRs about this the more thought out response I got was the following. The devs were informed months ago as to how these are generated, and how they violate the creature balance in the game. The devs have chosen neither to recognize the error, or to provide a solution to it. In this case the CSR must consider the items as legitimate no matter how ridiculous it is. The player that creates the creature is not abuseing any bug just a pathetic crafting system that lets stupid things happen. As you can guess this is synopsised.
So while many CSRs will agree with you on this. The truth of the matter is they can do nothing. In other words pets were pathetic and underused in the past, so these level 1 pets were not viewed as a serious problem. After all a 10k pet in the past was still pretty ineffective.
2. There are no legacy pets as it stands these level 1 pets are legacy pets in the new system. If you convert one of these 10k monsters by level. You will generate a level 20 or so with 10k ham. The system seems conflicted on them though. Sometimes they will read level 20 or level 1. So even though they convert out of the range of novices. CHs can pick these up and use them, but be warned sometimes the creature will be effective but other times you will notice things like no regen period and static state. Thank goodness for bugs lol.
Also I can verify pets warping to the 0,0 waypoint not sure if this is how it happens everytime, but fortunately some of my favorite pois generally fall near these areas, and early in the game sometimes when I warped in my camp a couple creature pets would show up with me before we all rubberbanded back.

Cool. Our city has a park at 0,0 on Naboo, Kettemoor. We will have to setup creaturewatching events
If your creature warps to 0,0 feel free to come by and
pick him/her up. We will take good care of them till you get there.
