Thread: Hello, and WOW!
I've actually got BH 1444 and CM 4xxx (for the heals).
I joined a hunting/xp group, or formed my own. No Need to group your pet. just have them attack the groups target (note, dont tell them to attack until someone else get the aggro first). The important thing is for you NOT to fire a single shot at the target as this will then divide the granted XP between CH and your other combat prof. IF however, your group begins to get overwhelmed, be nice and forget the CH XP, get your gun out and blast away until the situation is back under control and you have the whole group ganking one target at a time again. Also, the same applied with my ranged healing, I did not heal unless absolutely necassary, but was not afraid to heal players when the need arose! Using this method, I gained max of 6400 XP per kill, and with some groups, got about 4 kills every minute TOPS.
Not bad eh. Also, all the while, i have used the same CL12 Squill.
Good Luck
One group im looking to get is 3 giant crystal snakes as they are almost invisible and really hard to mouse click target. but Im unsure of thier level to be honest.
SO, I was just wondering.. WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE PETS?
I leveled Ch pretty fast and it hardly cost me a penny, the reason it went so quick and didn't cost alot for me was i was grinding BE at the same time, as i made the pets i tamed and trained them, thus getting be xp for crafting them, CH xp for taming them and CH xp for training them each time, tons of xp and very quick

If you couldn't use a command you can't train then no non-creature handler couldn't ever use a pet.
All their commands were taught by a CH. One thing to note however is that you get xp for training commands. One or two commands won't make much difference though.
I know a lot of CH's that went through novice just taming baby yard trash and training commands then releasing them. Other CH's bought trash BE pets and tamed and trained them, which is faster but costs credits.
Once your animal is taught group the xp will go faster. Group with a CL80 guildy and go hunting with your pet. The points will rack up pretty quickly.

if you are getting bored grinding solo, go to the favorite hunting starport on your server and get a group to hunt CL 80 ish creatures. I can cap 1.2 million CH xp as an MCH in about 3 hours if that is all I do. I dont even use high level pets. I used a wrix for almost the entire time, other than trying a few other pets here and there. As the other poster stated too, look at your group and make sure you will be able to sit back and CH and not have to heal the group or be the damage dealer ( I am MCM/MCH, so I am often splitting time healing too). I also find that using pets with a ranged attack works around some of the pet command bugs. So if you are low level, get yourself a spineflap or something similar. I haven't seen a pet yet that will steal aggro away from some CL80 combat prof as your pets will always do less damage. Also, I try not to use my favorite pets, since they will die for some odd reason and you dont want to grind down the vitality of a special pet for XP sake. I like having MCM too, since CM attacks dont grant XP and therefore dont take away from CH XP. Plus the CM attacks add a nice DoT, states, plus a snare. So as an MCH/MCM, my fire and poison are ticking for about 250-320 each and my pets are hitting for around 200-300, which is a small contribution to a group but still helps. I try to stick most of my heals on group members between fighting so as not to lose the CH xp. Make sure you hit the lair with the pet to get that last 7-8k of xp, wait til the end and the lair wont respawn MOBs or your pet may lock on the lair and wont attack the other creatures.

You "just got" CH and are at 2224?!?!? How the...? It's taking me foooooooooooooooooooorever just to get my first skill box past Novice, the xp comes so slowly. =/
The way to do it is to join a group hunt, preferably with sympathetic souls who won't mind you doing what you need to do to build your XP. You won't have to group your pets with you or the group.
Once you're in the group and attacking a lair, order your pet to attack whichever creature(s) is/are being attacked, but do NOT use your own weaponry on the targets! That will split the XP between your weapon and Creature Handler XP, in a fashion similar to what medics experience when they both heal and fight.
In a high-level group, your pet's damage will be far exceeded by the players around it, so you won't have to worry about your pet drawing the target's ire. When the target dies, shift the pet to the next target, and the next, and so forth. If you're fighting level-80+ lairs, you can expect somewhere over 6000 CH xp per kill, so long as you aren't siphoning off XP into weapons XP by using your own weaponry.
