Hello all...

I'm not a player with the greatest wisdom as i'm a european player so of course the americans among you would have been playing alot longer than me, and I have only been a Creature Master for little over a month.

But a few things stick out to me, that I think I'll comment on.

(First) MCH being a money making profession.

Well i think the L33T among you tend to get a little to hot headed and insulting sometimes, laughing at someone for asking does this earn you money was a bit..well lets not go into that, the answer is on my server Chimera, yes it is.

I make a tidy profit out of it, I hang around Ah where the squill hunts happen etc where the new players are ( I wouldnt use noob because I hate that label, and the ones among you who insult them are in my mind quite immature and really need to lighten up, we were all new once!) and even for getting mountain squill babes I get get quite a wage.

I simply walkinto town with my two tortons, and well the crowd floks and before long i'm asked to mount which I charge for, train skills (i've never been with out ap points), and go out to tame animals. And of course dispite how old and useless the rancors have been said to be, I always get numrious requests to buy them off me. I'm not saying I use this onlone to make money, so perhaps if it was use this to get the same amount as say an armoursmith, then well no not as much, but make money enough to live buy and more i'd say yes, it helps me traveling about and buying weapons.

(Second) Is MCH worth it should we all retire

Well as far as I can see the game splits itself into two sections, the PVP and the init for my own fun.

That's in my opinion of course, see the PVP eliment to me has sufered a hollow like desease which alot of games suffer from, the desease where a game and all it has to offer is forgotten, and being able to say I can kick everyones ass seems to suddenly be the best thing avialable.

So the fun bit, well I see the droid makers, the armour makers, the tailors, and dancers..even image makers going about with there charicters socialising and role playing if you will ( to be honest a lot of roleplayers in this game again get far to arrogant and elitist, they spend most of the time walking about looking down at most, I say alot I didn't say all though!) and they enjoy themselves. As on my server do the MCH's.

now the bugs do annoy me, they really do. The giant pets running, storing themselves, and of course the pets who simply stop attacking, all of this does make things harder...but as with all things it annoys you for a while and then you get over it, after all I can say that the bugs aren't always happening and when they do I usually use a bit of quick thinking to get things back on track quickly. Being a scout burst run tends to help, but things of course get more complicated when it comes down to the pet and the foe running into a pack of arrgressors you'd rather not meet...But tht's another post in it's self.

Anyway point is on my server MCH are only mocked by the pvp'rs who I see veen fighting themselves after abit out of frustration if they can't find anybody to fight with. The new trend of killing peoples speeder, even their AV21's if lucky makes me not really respect thjem enough to listen to thier comments, to put me off. I have pets around me and I get rememberd and respcted by it from the nice players, and be it my tortons, giant crystal snakes, or lvl 70 with a few 100 resists in there (be'd of course)...when a player sees that and says to me right i'm going to be a MCH as those llok cool off they go, I warn them of all the set backs but as with RIS armour it's alot to do with how happy it makes you to have it and see it, not just how hard it is....

So ramble over heres were I get the the topic subject, sorry for the long journey..

We hunt down these rare pets for two things, one for the pleasure it gives us, and two to show it off and be proud, I say show IT off not to show off...well maybe alitte bit, heh.

See we are in a game that makes you work for everything, it's hard...real hard. Grinding jedi's ....pffft respect to anyone who has done that even using all the corner cutting macro methods (which personally I don't approve of) it's going to be a long haul...is an example. RIS armour which i'm hunting for...what a quest that is.

Thing is you moan and complain...how hard to get they are, how rare they are...but let me ask you this. If it wasn't so hard to get it, would you hunt for it. If more than just some people owned it would you want it...

Well of course you wouldn't...maybe might get it to make money or kind of a cool for a while thing or to even put it on the pile off loot in your house, but you wouldn't want it, as badly as you do now. Lets not protend people you want it so bad, because others are out there looking for it just as much as you, and when you get it...I bet you won't moan then will you...you will parade round town with this pet (after all you have got it why keep it hidden after all you have been through).

airing frustration is one thing, but complaining and throwing your rattle out of the cot is another.

Now ...if Indiana Jones thought the lost ark was easy to find...he wouldn't really have took the job would he hmmm this is what it's all about..it's rare and theres work and luck envolved. Embrace that accpet that and take all the patience you will need to add to that. What it's worth to get it and how much you want it is the recepe of this. If you give uplooking for one of the pets that is confirmed to be there but is very very hard to get, then you coudln't have wanted it that badly...could you.

The Devs may well not like this profesison but the fact is there are players doing it, and soonier or later they will have to sort it. Hang in there. If your not playing this profession and you're not letting yourself get into and start love this bundle of graphics and numbers you have called barry the bantha....(who I sold.....and miss...*sob*) then this isn't for you. it isn't supposed to be played this game I think personally for a lvl like prgression and to ultimately beat it, it's a starwars enviroment where you can be apart of it and live out your charicters life...so I keep MCH because I loe my pets and I know when I find an arachne widow and gaping spider queen well i'll love them all the more.

I made a few decisions about playing this game before i started, and on the most part it's because I want to play out a charicter like the ones I have read in the many books & comics, and seen in the movies...not because I wanted to have everything, beat everything, and ultimately be everything...

So in conclusion of this small book (don't have to read it mind...) don't loose heart with the profession..if you do why did you choose it anyway because you thought life would be easier for you sending in uber hard pets...the games never going to let you be an ultimate bad ass, you should know that!....and hunting for those rare pets well you loose heart if you want, but I assure you, don't let th epopulation of this board make YOUR mind up, first time I have wrote on here really and the fellow people on my guild and over 30 others i know have never bothered, their out hunting for RIS, grinding jedi and harvesting dat for all the bull rancor babies they can find...if there is rumour of somethign cool in this game...there will ALWAYS be people hunting for it....they are.why shoudln't you.

I'm not giving up, the mir mention of a i've seen a such and such baby and i'm off to have a look where they said...and I love the uncertainty of it...I don't however complain and sulk because they didn't give me a screen shot. I'm in no rush....it's a never ending game...I don't want to find everything tomorrow..what the hell would I play for then.

Game says some babies are incredably rare...now this isn't magic...it's a programmed spanw ratio for some of these babies..and some trigger on times too..so imagine that baby that spanws say ever 5 hours on the ration of 10 to 1. IN only 3 or two liars of that animal...and someone has just given up on that lair and ran for their lives not noticing the baby thats just spawned...hopping about in the thick grass unseen somewhere...and imagine if you just happened to drive by and see it...well I got my arachne warrior that way...why not a gaping spider queen?

oh btw ... so many people playing this game hunting everyday and some don't care if they see babies or actually know that thats what a MCH needs to actually own that particular animal (no joke some people have no idea or interest in the details of CH nor do they ever want to) so they may be killing alot of these babies and not hinking twice...add to that the fact that some of these high aggro babes attack otehr animals i've seen it...is it so hard to believe the wildlife itself may kill these babys when someone none the wiser drives by triggering off this little wildlife battle.... Ive seen a squill savagly beating a pack of rontos before now...even seen a load of storm troopers taking on 6 banthas because a new player got himself in a bit fo a tight situation...bit galaxy out there...imagine how many people are playing on a planet at one time, and how many of the perhaps are not showing you screen shots or what ever else on here...chances are I could have found a gaping spider quene last week...and not posted a thing on here.

I play this game because it's the biggets starwars roleplay game out as I love starwars...therefore as long as it's here....i'll be there.

Here here, Styler. Well spoken (if not well spelled). I too played this game for fun. But I got depressed when I came across things I could not do with my chosen proffessions. (As a MCH I cannot survive long in the Geo caves or the DW bunker, even with TKM). I felt that if I tanked myself with other defense abilities thru the brawler specialties I may do better, but I am MCH and alot of EXP is eaten there. But i remain A MCH....Why? Because I like the Pets, as do we all I suppose. I just wish they could help us be better fighters. Alas, i regress, onto the topic at hand.

I too gave up searching for the rare/extinct pets....I bought them. I got a gaping spider Queen for 2 holos (back when holos were worth something) and i bought a` frenzied graul for 1 million credits off the trade boards. They are excellent trophies, even though i did not earn them. But even these rares are no match for my BE cats in a battle. I barely use them except to show off that i have them.

I wish CH would mke us better fighters.

I remember when the Faamba was a rare pet. the other day i tamed 2 of them in the same night, from 2 different lairs. So i don't know if they are considered rare anymore. I would also like to say that this has been a great list to look at and to hopefully go and find.

Well on Starsider they were a rare wild tamed pet. I had killed numerous lairs and only one baby for months ... and that one baby was a good 2 months ago.

i feel guilty for not playing my MCH after getting frustrated. but rtecently i have a new desire to get some rares.

so again thks for the list.

Ok, just came back from dathomir with my 2nd Rancor, no luck on the bulls, and a Rho Kwi Guardian.

Found him and 2 other babies in 3 differant lairs just waiting to be picked up.

After donating my Gnarled Rancor to a creature tamer for 20k I then headed back to Endor to hopefully snag me a Prowling Gurreck to go with my 2 Gurrecks.

I go out and hunt around and find the Prowling gurreck. We attack him, MY Gurreck, Probot and myself. Things are going great when suddenly a squad of Imps spawn and start to scan me.

Needless to say, They soon opened fire upon my Probot and Gurreck which were between them and Myself.

I took off, giving up the spawn area to the Imps and getting my gurreck and probot out of there, both seriously hurt.

So, I store them and figure i'll ehad back to RO and log off.

I am about 3k away, west of the Ewok Lake village and stumble across a HUGE field of red. I shudder, hope my maskscent holds and keep going, but I notice a lil yellow dot near one of the lairs. I do an /areatrack and lo and behold, a Toxic Merrek Battlelord baby. I run over and tame it on mys econd try and figure my luck is over for the night and head to RO and log out.

I know a TMB isn't rare, but besides my 2 Gurrecks and 2 Rancors, it is my best pet now. Saw a BUNCH of Merek Deathheads, but no babies and didn't want to trust my luck in taking a few out.

Am almost through the Novice Rare Hunters list and am hoping to start adding some of the semi-rares and above to my datapad.
