I have found the formula for Vigorous Health (L1):
(Base Health) * 1.04 + 100
It matches the given data, as well as a carrion spat I just taught this to:
180 > 287 (capper spineflap)
990 > 1129 (vynock)
1215 > 1363 (murras and my own baggerasets)
1985 > 2164 (my carrion spat)
Any numbers on L2 or L3 yet?
Done three lvl 50+ pets and they seem to give their innate abilities sometime between the second and third pet lvl up
Also done about six low lvl pets (under lvl 10) these gave their skills after the fifth lvl up.
Done three 11 or 12 lvl pets and these gave abilities between the third and fourth lvl up

Not from me, but I wish to collect all the L1 specials before moving on to L2, then L3.
If someone can list the health of pets with and without L2 and L3 (two from each), I'm sure I could quickly derive the formula.
I have a Reptilian Flyer which I tamed and had the HAMSTRING (L2) ability.
During use last night I was able to get the hamstring attack to work on thetarget quite nicely, However, the icon which came up under the targets Health bar said it had HAMSTRING (L1) applied to it and it lasted 20 seconds counting down.
So does this mean that even if it says you have a L2 or L3 triggered special on your pet it is really only doing the L1 version of that attack ?
To help work out what is going on here does anyone use the HAMSRRING (L1) version ? does it last for 20 seconds ?
I have bugged it anyway because at it's best it is a display error and at it's worst a major bug in the new specials system.

It really appears to be a % chance on each XP event, I think it goes up with roll overs but its all about getting enough "chances" to learn. FOr low level pets I find even getting 1xp per kill can be very quick to learn.
There does appear to be a point of dim. returns. Pets in the upper teens to say 20ish take a long time this way and I don't think its worth the effort. Besides you tend to clean the field faster then the respawn and I personally don't want to take over a multi-spawn field when new players actually need to level in them.
I've started to 're-write' some of this guide. Please take the time to read through what currently exisits and post on any information that may not be correct.
Many thanks in advance.
I found a CL7 murra with Self Sacrifice L1 and used it for a while so I could earn that ability until it had earned 24 or so training points. When I attempted to train it Knockdown L1 I received an error message stating that the pet had no more open ability slots. I stored and recalled it and still got the same message. I rolled it up to the next level so it had 32 points and I still couldn't train it in KD, staggering attack, intimidate, etc. Is this a known bug? Has anyone seen this with higher level pets?

Has the pet earned an ability slot? there is two different ability earnings. One is skill points, and the other is ability slots. If the pet hasn't earned an ability slot, you cannot train new abilities.
CL 7 might have only one slot and it is possible that the ability it already has takes up the slot. I will have to test more to know for sure about that.
But a CL7 pet is worthless to a CH. Its in the non-CH level range. Personally, i wouldn't give two chubbas if it had an additional slot or not, but thats me.
i have a CL2 i've used quite a bit that has 3 ability slots open now apart from the stun it had when i tamed it.
lowlevel pets aren't worthless to me, anyway. right now i'm trying to learn some L2 abilities, and the pets i need to learn from are all over CL35 so i can't have 2 out at once. but, i sometimes call out other pets with the one i'm learning from. lately i've been training up 2 cu pas to train for friends. sometimes i call out that CL2 bird, he has stun and knockdown and can come in really handy. his purpose is to land states on the mob, not to do damage, and at CL2 i have no worries that he'll draw aggro ![]()

Somethingthat I didn't see in the FAQ, that I get asked quite often:
Should I group with my pets when trying to gain training XP for them?
Basically, my response is if your fighting lairs near or aboveyour CL than group with your pets. If you are fightling lairs near your pets CL or lairs below where your toon would gain XP than you must leave your pets ungrouped for them to gain training XP.
