Thread: Creature Handler *TOP 5 ISSUES* (New! September 4, 2005)
Actually i wasn't jumping on ur case, yea using humor in the first post hence the lol at the end.
Did you ever think that you read too much into it in the first place then the replies back just propogate more?? Not to mention above you agreed with me and said the same bug was effecting you and it needed attention.
You must not think too highly of me and it's this impression of me that made you read more into those post's
The more we write the worse it will be and soon we will be flaming. Truthfully if i offended you I am sorry I never meant to and I was joking around originally but using your phrase in the text. maybe I shouldn't have but I did. I am sorry.
Please re-read things from my change my number one post on down and you'l see this really should not be where we are now. Again I was trying to use humor to mask a frustrating night. it's better than coming in screaming in capitol letters in a huge thread isn't it lol.
I have just recently returned to the game after several months away and also returned to the forums.I posted anI am back Thread and in less than a day was attacked and insulted for having a different opinion. I am sorry but this may also explain my lack of comradery here at times lol.

#4 should be ahead of #3, but other than that, perfect list.
grouping of pets is a big killer
pet call timers is another big killer
my only beef with #5 is that it takes me 20-30 seconds to find my pet/speeder in my datapad lol...there's just more junk in there than there is in my inventory. a folder system or a tab for pets would be nice.
And would they *PLEASE* stop moving them around. Every time I open my datapad to get something it has moved to a new location.

Alright, I've read thru the first 4 pages (couldn't take much more without my blood pressure rising). Not that I expect anything to happen, here's my list of what would be nice (in no particular order):
1) Pet Sizes - as said before in the thread, move it from "by leveling up" back to "by time". I havea BE'd Kimo that I hardly use. He'll prob never be full size. Why should I be penalized to have a dwarf Kimo just because I prefer to use my Great Plains Stalker/Mottled Wrix or Grand Wrix/Grand Wrix/Mottled Wrix combos more often?
2) Storage - I think this has been covered enough in the thread and the "official" issues list.
3) Speed - Currently, while moving around Dath with my aforementioned combos, I generall tend to move 200m then stop and wait for them to catch up. Shouldn't cats be faster than that? And that's including me being slowed down due to the weapon encumberance. I usually store them when moving across the planet.
4) Call/Store Timers - Alright, so call timers are being done away with. Good deal. What about store timers after combat? Or calling during combat. Sometimes, due to lag, aggro spawns just *appear* around me and start attacking. I should be able to call my pets out to defend myself in this case. I can agree with the storing in combat requiring a timer of about 15-20 seconds and afterwards as well to cut down on exploiters. But think about it, most combat is done and overwith in about 60 seconds or less. If I started with my 2/3 cat combo, there'd barely be enough time to store and call the other set out before the combat was over. So would it really matter?
5) Pet Calling Places - I can see not being able to call in a cantina. That limits the ability to have rancors/kimos/grauls lagging the place up. But places like the DWB, Corvette, etc that currently don't allow to call inside is ridiculous. As said many many times before, the pets are our weapons. If every other profession can cycle weapons, why can't we?
6) Elites - I want elites back. Not ones like the Female Narglatch or the such. Make the "rares" the elites. The Bull Rancors, the Great Plains Stalker, etc. It takes so long to find these pets and such a disappointment that they are so low in level and generally not worth using. We just want them due to their "coolness" factor. But if they had higher CL, health, dmg output, etc, they'd be worth having. Hell, make them part of a special set of CL80 pets that are tameable only by Master Creature Handlers. In general, the max level would be CL70, but say 5-8 rare elite pets would be CL80.
7) Training XP Cap - Let's see about doing away with the training xp cap. I've netted about 1200xp while leveling up several pets over the last few weeks. All of that is from the 1xp critters I've killed. Training XP is capped much like our own xp is capped right now. So many levels over our level and we stop getting the graduated xp scale. Using my CL50 GPS against anything higher than CL60 is a waste of time and effort. But I don't get XP for anything under CL71. Before it's said, if I want to take a CL4 Durni to Dath to fight a CL82 Nightsister, I should be able to and get mucho XP for it.
That's about all I can think of now. Like I said, I don't expect anything of that to get implemented anytime soon, if ever.

Yes Thor that aspect has been fixed, if you use the follow command the pet will break off of the lair. however if your pet is engaged in attacking the lair and you then target a creature and give an attack command at said target after that creature is dead the pet will automatically resume on the lair. The follow command must then be used to break the attack. Before just targeting another creature and attackingwould be enough to break off lair attack.
Well I don't know for sure on lairs but I do know that the command queue for pets is working well. I took a cute little lvl 16 mountain korval out to the yard trash on tattooine and turnd it loose. I would fan target the spawn (target self, tab, kill command to pet, tab to next target, kill command to pet) and watch as my little killing machine would start for the first MOB then change course to the next and the next till I stopped giving orders. He would then kill the last MOB I commanded then run back to the previous and previous till he got back to the first.
Watching the little tike (less then 1/4 the size of the yard trash) run around killing them was most amusing.
Sometimes he would get into trouble though if he got a hit on one as I was giveing him the list as the one he hit would follow him around and try to kill him while he did in all the others as commanded. Very obedient. Though I wish he would pause after killing the current one and do in the one on his back ![]()

I myself apologize for anything I may have said to offend you. We must put aside this political-like bickering and come toa common state of mind to make sure we win the respect of the Devs. That's the real issue, don't you think?
I think telling the Dev's to get their lazy ass up and start fixing bugs won't fix the problem and may even make them worse. Why would they even care what our needs are if we are blatantly disrespectful to them. So I say this. keep the thread as it is, make your lists of the top 5 issues and that is what this thread is used for. that will be most useful for the Devs and more useful to Ko-a.
Just my honest opinion.
again, I am a forgiving person and I extent my apologies to you Jopenack

not sure this will help you out, but worth mentioning it if you don't know it's there...an option under interface is for 'automatically sort datapad contents', there's another for inventory. i turned mine off and life is much better, however things do still sometimes move around when i fly somewhere.

Can we please get the problem of no wild spawns on non-adventure planetslike Talus andTatooine (getting worse onNaboo, Dantooine, Corellia and Rori as well now)in the Top 5?
CH's from all servers are having this issue. Although not so important for a MCH who has a full datapad, but for Novices it's as much of a problem as for CHs searching for specific abilities and any CH searching for non-CH mounts.
A bit of a nit pick...

5: Pet Storage
With the new system and the need to collect different pets for different special abilities, there has never been a more relevant time to ask for additional pet storage. Currently, a Master Creature Handler is limited to 22 pets in their datapad, with no way to remove a pet from their datapad and store it somewhere without actually deleting the pet. While 22 is a large number compared to some other MMORPG pet handler classes, no other MMORPG has quite as robust a pet system as Star Wars: Galaxies since the revamp and most Creature Handlers find it highly desirable to ask for more storage.
"Robust"? I think you mean to use a different word here, robust means nearly bulletproof, durable or solidly built. Did you mean comprehensive or extensive those adjectives I'd agree with?
