Thread: upcoming changes

Hello Mr Dev,,,,

The recent changes are great.. But there are 2 things that I think of that needs to be fixed.

1. 16 pets .. way WAY too low. I have 8 pets that I probably won't use too much.. I just think they are cool to have.. they would get wasted in any battle that I would get exp... With that said, How can I make any money on selling creatures if I can't store them.. I think 25 or so would be a great benifit.

2. 70 level.. yea. I know your not wanting to change it.. why not put it to like 95 or so.. so you still can't have 2 rancors but gives usa benifit to have smaller animals out.

Personally.. I believe babies should be rare.. if you want 4 Rancors in your DP.. well it should take an extreamly long time to find them.. same with all babies...

Regen is suppose to be fixed.. it is way better than it was already.

Upcoming Changes

The following contains information that has been approved for me to release to you.

Timeframe:

These items are currently "In Development". However, there are a lot of variables to account for between "In Development" and release to Live so please keep in mind that this is subject to change.

New Dance:

Dancers will receive abasic and advanced version ofa new danceto their repertoire. These dances will be granted to all dancers at the Dance Knowledge I and Dance Knowledge II skill boxes respectively.

New Song:

Musicians will receive a new song. This song will be granted to all musicians at the Music Knowledge I skill box.

Remove Battle Fatigue:

Battle Fatigue will no longer be acquired from combat, and entertainers will no longer be able to heal battle fatigue. Any player that logs in after this change will have all battle fatigue cleared instantly.

Remove Entertainer Healing Experience:

Since mind wound and battle fatigue healing are no longer the responsibilities of the entertainer, Entertainer Healing experience will be removed and replaced with dancer or musician experience as appropriate.

New Props and Particle Effects:

New particle effects will be granted for use by dancers and musicians. Dancers will also have the ability to hold and use dance props. Some types of props might include swords, staves, batons, sparklers, glow sticks, swoosh sticks, etc.

Skill Tree:

The Techniques, Wound Healing and Fatigue Healing skill tree branches will be modified to reflect their new attributes. Techniques will contain particle effects. Inspiration Buffs will replace Wound Healing. Props will replace Fatigue Healing. Other than adding the new dances, there will be no changes to the Knowledge branch at this time.

Other:

There will be an increase in Dancer Experience gain, the value of which is under discussion. Issues related to Cover Charge will be addressed.

This is all the info that I have right now. Again, keep in mind that this is all subject to change.

Eshie -- on the making props thing, one major concern that is coming up is whether we are going to have to deal with harvesting rare resources, having factory-crafted components, looting schematics, etc. Is there any word on what they are thinking will be involved in making props. Since they are just props and quality should not matter, one can hope that if resources are even needed, they should be basic things like "metal" or "wood" and not something specific like "Type III Endorian Amorphous Gemstone".

Since the props seem to be intended to parallel the musician's instruments somewhat (they're in the same line in the skill tree), I think there's hope they'll model any potential crafting certs to use basic resources like for instruments (aluminum, steel, and soft wood will get you the ability to make any instrument).

I seriously, SERIOUSLY doubt that they would do this to us. I mean, come on. We're NOT a crafting profession and we never will be. Other professions that involve crafting but aren't centered around them (i.e. smuggler, musician, etc) don't use any sort of specific resources. And I doubt the quality will matter whatsoever.

Oh hey Aleyo -- what are musicians getting? Are you guys getting props too or something else? Since your instrument is kind of like your prop already... (Though microphones would be cool... but that's just one thing.)

My first guess is that it'll be like the SW version of the ribbons you use in rythmic gymnastics.

I am insanely thrilled that we are getting these things! When we first submitted the Performance Enhancement list over a year ago, theword backwas basically "yeah, we think all this stuff would be great too and we'd love to do it for you, but we just can't spare the resources this would take right now and we have no idea when we'll be able to."

So, this is huge! :does the happy day dance

I have a question though, this current version sounds almost exactly like what we were hoping for when we put the Performance Enhancements on our Issues list (yay again!)... but there was another version of a way they wanted to give us fun toys with out crafting that used sort of temporary items (like the PEPs).

I don't care if it's real crafting or resource free tempory items as long as we get these cool things, but I am curious if they've actually said anything about how they'll be made. Any details of that level yet, Eshie? /poke

Uh, it looks like I was ignoring Scip's post about the resources and I wasn't, lol. Gawd, I always sucked at this NDA crap.

Ok, rephrasing to be more clear and still NDA ok -

I personally know of a no-crafted way they had considered doing this because Tyrant told me about it before he left. So, have they actually said "crafted" and "resource based" this time? Or are we just guessing? Scip? Eshie? Lilo?

coolness!

I'm excited about the new dance, and the props especially! Can't wait to do some sync dancing with this stuff!

And, I'm glad there are "future inspirations," because I really like our current ones. From my experience, there is definitely a demand for them, and if they're ATK only as I've read somewhere else, it will address my hangup about keeping some form of interdependency.

If this all works out well, I'm going to be a very happy dancer.
