Well i've been an MCH since about week 3-4 can't remeber spot on.. This was my first master and the one i've always kept hold of. Currently i'm working my way up the fencer tree and its really a sad day when, as a wookiee i can out tank ( buffed up ) my best tank ( Bark mite Burrower queen ).

I've kept MCH through all the nerf patches, but to be honest it seems to me that the devs just don't want anyone to play this class. They've taken ( balanced !! lol ) the best bits from this class and what they have offered to soften the blows, either don't work ( specials commands ) or don't exist ( rares ) well not if you can't be arsed spending weeks looking.

Currently the CH class is a complete waste of skill points, i really feel sorry for anyone trying to level up with the new XP system for CH.

On top of this theres the whole new set of problems since the last patch. When the Droid engineer class gets fixed, in the next patch CH could well and truely be finished.

I've gotten into some heated discussions on this board in defending CH but now for me the class i loved is no more.

Your Post pretty much hit the spot. I've tried commando, bh, and now close to tkm. I keep my pets out "just in case" and to run down the creatures that run off while close to death. But rather than give up mch, I started a toon on another server. the grind before the patch wasn't fun but now, no way! I feel for anyone taking this up post patch. Yup, that's me and Clyde ( my bol) riding off into the sunset cause there's no way i'm giving MCH up. just make an extra large gunners station on the fighters in the space exp , Clyde, fire damn it and quit scratching your A##.

I really like MCH.... The grind is tough but not so hard that i would feel sorry for someone grinding it. When pet specials get fixed this prof is gonna rock! However, i've alwaysthought ofMCH as a support profession. In that light I think MCH is the best support profession for anyone that loves to PVE. No question, it is the best IMO. As far as combat, I really don't like the idea of an animal trainerbeing better in combat then dedicated combat class, but that's just me.

ga2 if ya thinkCH shouldnt be able to be a stand alone combat profession then how can you explain that a tka is? i mean come on my rancorshould attackworse then a puny human fighting with thier fists?...not likely. can ya explain that?

tomthumb, I agree a TKA should not be beating up on a rancor, but if I give into your way of thinking then I don't think CH's should control rancors. The devs chose the middle ground on this issue. We get useless rancors and TKA's get to beat the crap out of them LOL.

I just don't see animal trainers as a combat class. It's like in real life dogs assist police officers, but dogs are not really considered police officers. They have a support role. The police officer carries the gun and is trained in combat, they could be considered a pure combat class that is augmented by thier dog.MCH'sneed combat skills and should not solely depend on their pets for combat.

This is just my opinion, not trying to offend anyone just having a friendly discussion about it

I applaud your effort, but there is a small (but vocal) group of malcontents on this forum that is not interested in having a friendly discussion about anything.

Their way is the only way.

I've been able to master CH and master pistol, marksman, scout, medic....

Now I'm working on TK or heavy sword, haven't decided wich yet.....

all I can say is that as a master ch we have enough extra points to master another skill.

While i would love to see a profession of CH be self sufficient i doubt it ever will be unless they combine Ranger and CH to make an elite hybrid, wich I would suffer through

Ya, the profession is laughable at this point, and the way the devs have handled this is unprofessional. Even with the pets being worthless in PVP, the devs ineptness at programming is even more astounding. Two words - Auto-store. Lucas should be ashamed at putting his name behind this crap. and devs, S C R E W Y O U.

Its obvious pleaing, posting orbeggingisnt getting anything done.

Why dont you clowns just admit you dont know how to fix this profession and justput it to bed?

And while your sitting around scratching your heads cluelessly, see if you guys can figure out why it is

that everytime i sit down, I get ejected 30 meters away.

Im fed up with this nonsense. Im a paying customer, whos been paying for a broken, buggy product now for over 6 months. And the best answer i get is, Wait you get a kit to colorize your bike that lasts for a day before you have to do it again.(???) SOE u must think nothing of us.

Im a chronic complainer, but this can't be all me. And i know this is a waste of time and effort typing this, but it makes me feel better.

Ok, friendly answer

I've posted my reasoning for why CH is a combat class in anothe thread. To quote:

"A combat profession is one that has skills/weapons that allow one to engage in combat. Yes? No?

Examples of professions that do not have skills that allow one to engage in combat: architect, politician (mudslinging does not count as combat ), entertainer, medic (unless they specialize as combat medic). Though correct if I'm mistaken. I have only passing familiarity with those professions, but I don't recall seeing any combat skills in their skill trees.

Examples of combat professions are self-evident, because they obviously provide skills and weapons. Except it seems that people over look that the Creature Handler profession does, in fact, provide weapons that allow one to engage in combat. Those weapons are the pets. Pets have one purpose and one purpose only: to engage in combat - either attacking or defending. (Ok, ok, pets are companions, they are fun to have, etc. etc. but you get the point). If CH is not a combat profession, something is really, really wrong here "

So, to say that a CH should not rely totally on his pet (as a weapon) for combat is no different than saying thata pistoleer shouldn't rely on his pistol or a TKA totally rely on his skills. Is there really any difference between someone pulling a triggerand someone sending a pet?In either instance, a weapon is being used.It just happens that one weapon is inanimate and the other is alive.

Now, as it turns out, CH has been turned into a rather ineffectual combat profession as regards PvE. But it is a combat profession. As such it should have the chance to compete as a combat profession.

CH are animal trainers? True. So? Pistoleer/rifleman train to learn to use a weapon. TKA trains their body to be a weapon. A CH trains his pet as the weapon.

I probably would not say it exactly like this, but I see what you are saying.

If you go to Dathomir in a group huntingthe high-endrancor cousins, it does not take very long to figure out who the heavy hitters are, and it is NOT the CHs.
