Thread: An Idea: Raise non-CH pet DL up to 20-25....

And raise the max pet DL for CH up to like 100-150. Why? Because after all these changes, the pets overall besides being mount are useless at DL 10. Not only that, but then the DL of combat droids can be raised and can actually be helpful, protection, and dmg wise.

I don't see why not after all these changes with pets.

Anyways just an idea.

Some people like having a dog to hang around with, may be virtual but hanging around watching dancers is much funner with a dog.

but i'll sign this because of the 150dl part

Your idea is nice but not original. I think your idea was posted a lot (not by you of course) back in December when all the tamable critters got the nerf bat smacked on their behinds.

Forgot to add:

DEVs ignored us then and more then likely will ignore your idea now. I still like your idea even if it will never happen.

The reason why I suggested this was so that DE could actually make droids more in line to where they can actually be considered a "combat droid." Right now they're still no better then a regular DL 10 pet, besides some tools here and there, and even then a DL pet (especially a BE one) could eat up a droid pet.

EDIT: BTW in way I think it is original, because of the timing. The main reason I posted this was because of the supposedly improvement on DE when in fact it was more of a nerf hidden with some minor enhancements. The fact the droid invasion should've been changed to "Minor Droid Improvements." Droid Invasion isn't anywhere like a droid invasion, and the fact they labeled it like this in the first place is pretty much misleading.

The main reason why is cause they wanted it more in line with the DL 10 pets, hence why they have no medium armor, and some minor incrase in dmg and ham. So if you allowed the DL of the droids to go up to 20-25 DL, then allow the non-ch to also have 20-25 DL pets, then it would be more in line and the droid invasion could be possible. Heck, even the possibility to even own a droideka that a lot of people hoped for,or one of those roger roger droids. ^_^

From what I understand of all the (few) posts that I have read concerning Droids and the increase of CL of the droids is that the DEVs are afraid of a flood of droids like the flood of pets a few months back. I think (do not hold me to this, I aint a DEV) they are holding off introducing new and better droids cause they are still doing tests (one can only wish) somewhere with various CL droids and comparing the droids to similar CL pets.

If the DEVs up the CL of non-CH pets without introducing the new droids at the same time we will be back to a flood of pets again. Your idea is good IF the DEVs introduce similar Droids at the SAME TIME. Otherwise the DEs will get pissed (with very good reason). Everyone will run to get a CL25 pet and the DEs will be in an even worse situation then they are now. Who would want a CL10 droid has a protector when they can have a CL25 pet.

I still like your idea. And can only hope sometime in the future this will happen. But until the DEVs figure out what the heck is going on in the DE profession I don't think we should ask for this. From the DEVs track record when it comes to fixing professions there is a very small chance that CL25 pets and CL25 droids would be introduced at the same time.

Why would you want to make Creature Handlers even less than they already are? Creature Handlingis a skill and shouldn't be available to every Tom, **edit**, and Commando. There are already too many rancors and krayt dragons being paraded around like animated trophies that their owners often didn't earn. How manyretail workers do you see walking aBengal tiger down ametropolitan street?

Why would you want to condemn Creature Handlers to training other people's pets and trimming old ladies' banthas? Better yet, convince Sony to dump the profession and we Creature Handlers will finally have our confirmation that we are truly irrelevant in this new, unfamiliar Star Wars galaxy far, far away.

Think of it in a broader spectrum. You have to compromise somewhere, this will still keep things in check, people would end up wanting to use droids more (and can use pets just as much, but wasn't the original intention that people wanted to use droid more?). Reason why droid are so gimpy now like I SAID was that the developers wanted them to be kept in range with the DL 10 pets, and neither of them are used much.

What happens when CH max DL go up to 150? NEW CH PETS. Mutant rancor for example, or even an ancient bull rancor, which could be an uber rare pet, which keeps BE still in business (YES A MEDIUM ARMORED PET,). So like I said, don't just think about "Oh just any joe blow can get a DL 20-25 pet, going to be another pet warl" CH will AGAIN be able to sell pets, there will be more droids running around... and so on. Like I said there needs to be some form of compromise.

**edit**= DL ?

and i dont think Non-CH should have pets at all. They should only be able to have mounts, and those mounts cannot attack. Seriously...

The reason i wanted to be a CH was to tame creatures, and if people who dont even give a damn about the proffesion can get some nice BE-made pets at level 25, thats BS.

They should raise the max CL level for master CH to 100 anyway, because of PvP issues. However, it would then throw PvE off way too much.

DL = Difficulty Level, read it in your pets examine window next time you log in. They can also go by CL which is Challenge Level, but the proper term is DL.

When I was a CH, I didn't mind non-ch having pets, this was one of CH main source of income. BTW I think the cu'pa and the bantha thing was a flop. I've only seen one person use it, and it was a guild member, only cause her bike got trashed.

You forgot, only way a non-ch can even have a DL 25 pet is that a CH needs to tame them in the first place. You make it sound like that a non-ch can tame one off the bat which isn't true.

I think that'd be good compensation for all the B.S. we've been put through since launch. Level 20ish pets aren't that good, anyhow, and our pets at level 60-70 are still incredibly sucky. However, the devs would never let this pass. It'd make us "overpowered". But oh no, it's not overpowered for a guy with a stick to be able to take on 5 fully grown bull rancor at once and only get hit a few times...and it's not overpowered for a guy to be able to kick the living CRAP out of any tamable pet out there with his FISTS...

Sorry..I like the idea, but it is just a dream that will never come true...and the uselessness of half of my skill points is slowly driving me away from this game...

Btw i aggree that only CH's should be ablet own pets, its the NON Ch's fault of ruining the Game for all creature handler players.

In fact they should have made Driod handlers and have them be aElite elite profession on top of Driod Engineer(with master driod engineer as the req)

and Creature handler should have been a Elite Elite profession on Top of RANGER.

That would have made sure all the dabblers that are at fault for allt he CH nerfs would have actually EARN'd the RIGHT to use a pet.

thanks dabbler bastards.......

Btw i do not aggree with the original poster as the fact that his signature clearly states (X Master Creature handler)

Thats like a X smoker complaing about some one elses health when they seem them smokeing.
