I really want to fight off a mount but not sure what best way to do it is I am currently working on master rifleman and Master CH but was curious about a few things.
(1)what is the toughest mount?
(2)Would all your dodge bonuses, block,Ranged dmg mitigation werk while mounted?(since you can't use special attacks?)
(3)What Weapons best used or templete to complement this combat style?(If any)
(4)Am I or my mount harder to hit while moving?
(5) Am I wasting my time and skill points trying to fight off a mount because it is just not meant to be?

1) I think the brackaset male is the strongest if you don't include Be'd mounts.
2) I think they still work, although i'm not sure.
3) You need weapons with high damage. As you can only use the default attack you'd best pick a slow weapon with high damage. If you got a speed bonus from your profession you still speedcap
4) I don't think you're harder to hit.
5) It is quite hard though it is a lot of fun to do. A lot of npc's are quite easy to fight mounted because you're faster than them, meaning you can hit them without them hitting you. It also seems that you can shoot from up to 70m. I have this quite often while my mount is moving.
All in all it is great fun to fight while mounted, although it is difficult. Do not expect to fight a rancor lair single-handedly. Last week a few guild members teamed up on their mounts, and we had a great time doing low level missions and kicking mauler butt

answer to number 4 is a high dmg fast hitting weapon. i use a scythe at 800-1k dmg a swing while mounted (no specials because you can only auto-attack on a mount) and can take out most anything. also gets you great xp if your still gridning just to hop on a kaadu, carrion spat, or cu pa (they are the fastest mounts) when goin to your mission and if something aggros you you can just kill em while they follow you and gain xp b4 u even get to ur mission. and i dont beleive dodge, counter-attack, etc etc works whiel riding a mount, same rule applies for riding a bike

I tried to mount my Cupa and ride around shooting stuff for fun and can't seem to attack anything can anyone else confirm that shooting from a mount does or doesn't work?

Yes it seems to have been disabled. I guess it was unbalancing to shoot base shots with no specials from a mount. Actually it is probably that all shots are now considered specials since there is no default shot and the devs didn't think about the impact to CH.
I would say they felt that it would be unbalancing since we can make any special our default with the ctrl+click option but that would mean they gave it some thought, not a trait this development team is known for.

Yep ... over a year of asking to be able to use specials since they broke CH as a combat profession, and instead we got the reverse.

To post or not to post...That is the question.
I know how you folks love your anger and rightous indignation, but here is an answere to this problem anyway....
" /attack " WITHOUT THE QUOTES will allow you to attack while mounted. Its a default attack and not "Special" like ALL other attacks.
this worked all through testing and was working fine on Sat.
Good luck.

I'm happy you got that to work ... never worked once for me. Do you have a default attack selected in your toolbar or not? What kind of damage output are you getting and with what weapon equipped?

*update*
Tried it outside Theed while mounted on my Brackaset 'Mule' ... made no difference whether I had a Special pre-selected on the toolbar (Cntrl-click) or not, with a weapon equipped, entering "/attack" (without quotes) caused nothing to happen.
