Thread: How to ELIMINATE the high lvl pet grind....

I was just shown this ... an it works... what u need is a cl 1 character ... you bfriend you pet to him an have him group it ... then you run your normal kill macro on the yard trash... but by being grouped with a cl 1 player the pet gets 4-5k per kill on the lvl 1-4 yard trash.

My suggestion would be for people to contact a CH on a different server than you play on an make a agreement to exchange exp. I.E. you create a new character on a server you don't play on or have a account on... then they do the same on the server you play on...

MY OH MY this is 2 easy ... wonder if this post will get removed.

HOPE this hint ELIMINATES some of the complaints we all have on the EXP Grind.

You can contact me on Corbantis My MCH characters name is Zaaba I only play on this server so can demo this to you on any other server if you want to see it work.

Although other CH's have had success with is. I can never seem to get it to work for me. My pet never gets above 1k xp per kill. It's more around 972 xp. So if I group 2 pets with the CL 1, it drops it down to around 762 xp. I usually do that so the pets last longer in case a higher level MOB shows up and is targeted. But yeah, I never get the 4-5k xp per kill unless I let my pet attack the level 80swhile runningBol missions on Dantooine and I don't attack.

Hmm. Do you need the level 1 player to give the commands, or be with you and your pet?

The only thing the cl 1 NEEDS to do is group the pet ... you can give all the commands [run macro]

One more thing if there are several CH that want to do this together you find a spaw area that 2 or 3 ch can work that are close to each other an put the CL 1 inbetween them an have him group each MCH's pet. We did this last night an 3 of us were working different spawns at the same time.

the KILL macro

/ui action targetSelf; this targets U

/ui action cycleTargetOutward; this targets the closes mob to you seeing you have yourself targeted

/tellpet kill; your pet attack command

/pause 4; I have played with this an well overall 4 seems to work best for yard trash.

/ui action toolbarSlot19; this is the shift f8 key top row of toolbar is 0-11 bottom row is 12-23... or you can just call macro name.

As to not getting the 4-5k exp I was thinking I have only done this with lvl 64-70 pets... perhaps if you were using a lower CL pet the exp points would be less? Does not make real sense to me for a lvl 2 pet to get 4-5k exp per kill.

If you really feel this is a exploit ... well how about if the cl 1 character was to modify the macro an using his basic rifle he shoots one time atthe targetbefore he sends the pet to attack.... [in this case the cl1 would run the macro instead of the mch]

I definitely do not see it as borderline cheating - the game gives us a "befriend" command and we lend a pet to a lowbie - this helps them no end as they can take on slightly higher level mobs and kill them quicker with the help of the pet - and as a bu producy our pet gets xp?? I see no problem with this at all. At the moment a pet takes on the level of the group so if you group a level 70 pet with a level 1 the pet gains xp based on a level 1 - I think we should be careful not to even hint that this may be some kind of "exploit" or "cheat" as the nerf bat may swing meaning both CHs and lowbies lose out - The way things are it is a win/win situation and hurts no-one.

I have only tried this a few times and did not find it too effective tbh - I always seem to get the "pet xp" bug where the pet just randomly stops gaining xp and if you are not paying attention you get your pet back after2 hours with no xp

Instead of the highlighted command, you can put in /macro <macroname> (in this case KILL) and save a hotbar slot

Instead of this, try my method. I was a novice Saturday. This Saturday I am working on my Master box. What I did was find some spin groups, group the pet get missions and don't attack anything, send the pet in for the 1 hit or so per creature. It's helpful if you have a good guild that will help you here, as some groups I'm sure won't like you not attacking. With a 5 or 6 person group, in 1 round of missions I can get a lvl 4 box and almost another, so it is not really laborous grinding like everything else here.
