Whenever someone challenges me to a duel, or I challenge somebody to a duel, why do they get angry when i pull out my pets? Pets are my weapons, like a rifle is their weapon... I even have my creature tamer title up

I tell them if they don't use their ligthsaber I won't use my pets, but they don't ever understand I get called a noob for not being able to win without help, but I don't see how sacrificing 100's of points of defense/ many powerful attacksfor a few pets is help

Anyone who doesn't let me use my pets in a duel isn't worth my time. Don't let it get to ya, obviously they don't understand the game mechanics of SWG.

Do what I do, hide your pets off to the side of buildings and stuff and then accept the duel challenge or offer a duel challenge, then (group ahead of time) use your attack commands as soon as they accept. I have never been called any names and alot of the time I get further duel requests. I do start by keeping my animals out of sight, as I stated, but I find it allows for a duel to happen and also saves me having to say, "oh wait a moment, as I pull out pet after pet." Hell after one duel (which I lost, to a combat medic template, but was a close battle) the guy offered me 2 mil for my greater sludge panther trio. One of my biggest mistakes in dueling is forgetting to group with my pets, which can be a fatal mistake when killing...oops, I mean hunting jedi.

they just dont get it. i get asked to duel many times everytime i log and they complain when i pull out my pets (even tho i have master creature handler under my name). i usually tell them that if i cant use my pets they cant use their rifle or whatever weapon they r using, they usually shut up. if they dont stop then i just walk away.

Usually the more experienced players dont mind that much. They understand that its part of our template. I do get tells from people that are like "wow your cheap 3 vs 1" When they say this they mean me and my 2 pets vs them. I just explain that its still 1-1 because they are part of my template. Some people no matter how long you explain it to them wont understand or wont admit that they understand. Just ignore them and get on with your day.

I agree. If they refuse to understand, "/addignore" isone of the best in-game commands

When asked to duel, the first thing I ask is, 250 vs 250? They usually say, umm yeah, so I then proceed to pull out pets which they usually respond, this is gonna hurt. The only thing that makes me uneasy in those duels is knowing the other guy is going to be losing a lot of condition off his armor in the process; on the other handthat´s almost a reward for mouthy people, I know that I just cost him a good chunk of money.

Meh, just /addignore. There are always twits like this in every game. I'm reminded of a duel I witnessed in EQ, in which a warrior challenged a caster. He then started whining when the caster started using his magical skills to avoid the warrior and put DoT's and what not on him. He acted like the caster was cheating because he wouldn't stand still and let the warrior smack him down with his sword. *LOL*

I don't duel often as I am CH/TK and against ranged with the state my pets have been in since CU - I did not feel over-confident. Recently I worked out a strategy for duelling, as the ranged fighter inevitably backs off a fair distance to avoid my 5m range, lol. My pet flies in as the ranged lands me on my back with a KD and then I burst run up to him and kick the... dust... from his pants if I can. It doesnt always work if the opponent is PvP experienced but has surprised a few. With my low level of damage, the pet adds to my hit - but still will never hit as hard combined as a ranged can hit me.

One time when a guy wanted to duel me and kept going on about how I couldn't use a pet, a bunch of people jumped into the argument for me, so that was pretty interesting. I won too but like most fights for a weakling commando like me the pet did about the same damage I was doing....

I am as well, but i find ranged much easier than melee, since ranged dont have COB and high defenses

lower defense=much more pet damage
