With the release of the Grotex used in arena fighting by the smugglers, I got to thinking. I'm interested in setting up an Arena event of CH's Pet vs. Pet. We could have 3 divisions, Light, Middle and heavy weights, broken up for cl of pet division.
1000 cred interance fee, go through the fights in brackets. You lose, you are out of the bracket. Winner would get half the proceeds for that division. one 1/4 of it would go to the city that the event was held in, and the final 1/4 would goto the promoter. We could even have a BE make deeds and name them as trophies.
Unfortunatly, not every one is on one server, and to have everyone hit one server would mean delaying the events out a bit, so new people could at least get into the light weight division.
The rules would be simple:
1) Only animals fighting. The 2 combataints would set to duel each other, then send there pets at each other, ONLY. If a handler gets involved in the match, even attacking the other handler, they are disqualified and no reimbursement of there entrance fee.
2) Covert/Neutrals only. If you are Overt, that gives too much risk of a fight breaking out in the stands.
3) have to keep it with in the confindes of the arena. If you go outside the arena, then you are disqualified. There would be judges on hand to make determinations in certain situations.
4) Natrual Tamed Adult Animals Only. This rule is mainly to help out those that can not goto a BE and get a pet made with GodStrike/HolyHandgrenade/Impervious from everything armor, have everyone on a level playing field, so to speak.
The only thing I would really need would be a master scout on the pay role that would help me determin that the monsters were of the correct level that the entrant says they are. I think it would be pretty cool and could go month to month to different cities that would be willing enough to make an arena/venue for the competition.

Well, with the running/optimal distance problems that some creatures have, you might want to rethink this rule and maybe the arena entirely. You could stage fights in cities ala John Wayne in The Quiet Man. If you have not seen this old movie two guys have a running fight through out the country side and the town.

After reading some of the tech issues with CH, it just hit me that there is still that error with optimal attack range, so yeah, town wide would be interesting.
Would still like to know if anymore poeple would be interested. Might put this up on the intrepid server forums.

Will there be rules as they would pertain to natural vs Bio Engineered. As an MCH I try to only use naturals.
I'd love to be involved I am on the Radiant Server however.

Nice! You'd also be able to re-enact stopping at the cantina for a drink in mid-fight.

This is a fantastic idea! I dont have too many tamed pets left as I tend to steer towards pets created for certain guild raiding situations with certain resists and attacks for said situations, but this would give me a real reason to get off my ass and go tame some stuff again! I would definitely like to be involved if such an event ever made it's wayontoRadiant.
