Thread: can't call pets on ryatt trail

on the worshyr canopy i think it's called? the level that has the mystingar prey finders and thrashers (but not the lowest level) and the crazed rodians. i can call pets, but they appear somewhere else, not anywhere near me. at first i thought it was just calling them on the ground and not up in the trees, but if i group them the group list shows them more than 3k away. i used to be able to call them at one specific spot by the trail guide, now even that doesn't work. tried making a camp to see if that evens out the 'ground' enough to call them, no luck, the camp doesn't show up near me and i get a message about entering and then abandoning my camp.


this is really getting on my nerves today because kash carnivore meat is good on my server, and i'd rather kill those mobs to harvest it than the bugs in the caverns. but on my MCH/MBH toon, if i can't call pets i'm certainly not fighting at full strength and that's just not right. anybody have any ideas how to use pets on this level?

yea I don't think it's by design since you actually can call them they just aren't in sight. If you notice you'l be able to store afetr you try calling. I believe they just wind up on the lower trail, not really sure.


I do know I have fallen off those trails sevral times and wound up in limbo or on the bottom. I think this is what happens to pets on the trail you mentioned.

pets should be callable anytime a weapon can be equipped. if a weapon can be switched in combat, then pets should be able to be switched.


i can't say it any simpler. my pets are my weapons.

Try calling them right at the entrance of Lvl 3. This is the only way I have been able to have pets out on that lvl.

yeah that used to work, but hasn't worked for me this week. i've tried standing 10 different places near the entrance, even standing on the trail guide, but i never can see my pets /sigh.

I had the same problem on Level 3. I couldnt get any of my pets to be called next to me, not even my birds. It really was crappy if you ask me. What made it worse, was when i went down to level 4 and i called a pet there. It did the same thing. I then tried to store it, but it would never store. I ended up getting slain by a wookie and sent back to the top. This too was really bad, because the gate, which lists the levels of the Ryatt Trail would not let me go back down to level 4 quickly. Why even list them if they won't work?!?!?!?


In effect I opted just to quit the quest and not worry about it. Obviously this needs to be corrected. Guess I'll go chat with the brick wall about that now.

thats effectively correct.
anytime you try and call your pet on something that isn't "solid" it appears below you - the same thing does happen on most bridges - try those in Myyydril for an example. It is a pain, but i hate L3 of the trail anyway as it destroys my fps and makes that section an utter nightmare.

the only way to fix this is to MAKE sur eyou go down one level fron the trail guide at eh end of each section BEFORE going up or back. As long as you have the quest, you iwll get credit and be able to port back to the said section, other wise you wil ahve to run it all the way , regardless of weather you did it befor. HOWEVER., if you want to say get closer to the end on teh worshier canopy, but do nto wan to run it, you can port to the spider level, then talk to the trail guide again and GO UP one level, which wil place you at the BACK of teh worsher canopy.


as to the calling pets thing, I belive what is happening is htat you are indeed pulling teh pets out on that level, they are falling through, which often shows up as being xxxxmeters away. no idea how to fix the problum though

This does not work. I have made it to the Level 4 of the Trail (spider level), and when i use the gate to start at the Level 4 , it simply starts me out at the entrance to the Ryatt Trail on Level 1. I have attempted this numerous times. When i choose to go to level 4, it sends me to level 1. I have tried choosing level 2, and 3 also, and those also start me at the entrance on Level 1.


The only option i have is to run through each level again. I'm just not wasting my time doing that right now.

I've had similar problems. In some areas I can call pets without a problem, but once you get into the canopy, it just doesn't work. I gave up on the Rryatt Trail, primarily because I was unable to call my pets on the Webweever Trail. Without my pets, it's impossible for me to take down anything there.


In my opinion, Kash is a big disappointment.

I think you're misunderstanding what the numbers at the gate mean. The instances aren't to start you on a specific level of the trail, they are to choose which instance (version, server, shard, whatever terminology makes sense to you) of the trail you enter. The only way I've found to quickly move between levels of the trail is to talk to the guides at the beginning of each trail level. This unlocks the ability to travel to the beginning of each trail level by talking to the Trail Master in the hut on the right near the gate at the first level of the trail.

Much to my annoyance I came across this bugtoday, thereby ending all/any remaining interest that I had in playing the extremely poor Kashyyk (sp) expansion.


I was almost looking forward to going further down the trail and doing my missions (of which there were many), but the complete inability to use my pets (when I am a puny mch of level 59) has made me completely unprepared to attempt to go any further and risk further damaging my valuable gear pointlessly.


Incidentally, where the hell are the creature babies on Kashykk, because I haven't come across ONE.

There are no babies on Kashyyk besides the CH quest for the level 75 lizard. Then you get an egg you can "hatch". No taming on Kashyyk, no wandering on Kashyyk. It was an experiment to try and change planets to EQ zones, thankfully Mustafaar looks like the experiment failed and the old, wide open worlds with random spawns and babies is back!
