Hey all Im a MCH and ive been gone for 2 years 1month. And I have forgoten everything. I was looking at alot of stuff, but im really overwhemed right now. Can you all tell me what the really good pets are now?

Tank:

Attacker:

You know that type of stuff? The Cl thing is the same as when I left, but I still remember when I could have 3 rancors out at one time.... Ahhhh

Also any other tips you have for me would be great! Wasnt there a /pet command so you didn't have to yell at your pets to attack? Thanks all!

The only pet you'll want for being the best are 3 Female narglatches, they put every other tamable in the game to absolute shame, and I believe top the BE crafting system, seems 8K HAM pets are invalidated when they grow up or something....

Further, remember, once you tell a pet to attack,DO NOT tell it to do anything else, ESPECIALLY not attack again, until it's firsttarget dies. Even if it gets AoEd and lured away to certain death, there will be nothingworse you can do to your pet than tell it to attack again,You'll hopelessly freeze your pet in perma-agro if you do, where it will not respond to most commands (Most notably store). it's quite ridiculous really for it to not be an easy fix as clearly it's an issue of the pet not clearing its target after the enemy dies, but hey, nothing we can do about it, as apparently candles are more important.

Also remember that we've been nerfed, let me think here, 3 times majorly since you've been gone, and then one mini-nerf (Which I think oddly actually raised the HAM on some of my pets) followed by most of our BE pets being deleted for being "Invalid", followed by specials being destroyed in the CU. When the CU was just starting, for whatever reason, CH was ungodly powerful, but somehow was nerfed in some capacity so horribly that we're back to the bottom of the food chain where we apparently belong.

I think the / command your referring to is /tellpet, it works well for me but only as long as your command is 3 letters or more long, any shorter and the system just plain doesn't care.

Just when you thought things couldnt get any worse the CU came along.

I suggest you give the stickies a good once over to see whats changed, particuarly the one reguarding the new "hate system" if you want to find out about tanking pets. (Short answer is they dont exist.........at all)

Try to get rid of healing and go up BH some, good specials in it that go well with rifleman, (And all other ranged profs for that matter) such as helpful roots and snares and things which makes beating things so much easier for everyone.

Well, the thing to take into account is the following:

-If a person does 1 pt of damage more than a pet, that mob will attack the person. As long as pets do not have a taunt ability, that is.

-The 'lvl system' is radically different from before. If a lvl 40 character attacks a lvl 80 mob, there is a 99.99% chance that lvl 40 character will be visiting the cloner. The reason is due to damage mods. That lvl 80 mob will do more to lvl 40 character than a lvl 80 character. Mobs no longer have a 'static' damage, it is scalled to the various level of the player.

-Pets are not showing/do not have specials/armor right now. I have heard various reports of pets having armor, but not showing it.

-The days of super lvl 10 pets are pretty much gone. Most 'good' be pets are a day of the past now. I have a few be pets that cannot be called out anymore due to invalid stats.

-Mounts now 'slow down for combat.' Even though, you cannot shoot from them, they slow down for some reason.

-A lot of pets have shot up in pet level to where they are uncallable because they are above lvl 70.

Now, what are good ways to be a CH in 'new and improved' SWG? Well, you will see people say get 3 female narglaches (sp). They are probably a good bet, 7k ham or whatnot, and you can enrage and emolden them, and maybe buff them up as well. Let them do the majority of damage at first. When the target is near 1/3 health, then you lay into it with rifleman specials. By the time it reaches you, it should be down.

Focus on one at a time. Any more than one at a time, and you are pushing it.

Another thing to consider is to go, 4/0/0/0 CM for the ranged healing. I found that there is an excellent character builder at www.bloodfin.org. I have played around with that alot. Actually, looking at it, you cannot do any cm. Another way to go would be to go: MCH/MR/0/3/4/1 BH for the specials involved, underhand, improved crit, confusion shot, and for some ranged modifiers.

This new system, also allows any ranged weapon to use any other ranged weapon special. So, as a Rifleman, if you were to take some pistols, you could use those specials with your rifle.

Rifles are considered 'nukers' now. They are among the big damage dealers in the game. They have the greatest range over the rest of the professions, with cybornetic arms, your range can be further increased.

Pistols have stopping shot, and smuggler has a root, as does CM. I believe the CM breaks up damage though.

Thank you, only problem is that I don't know what roots are good and what snares, I have heard go BH as well....

a 'root' is something that will stop something in its tracks for a short amount of time.

a 'snare' is something that will slow its movement for a short amount of time.

Some 'roots' are broken when damage is done, I think the CM paralyze is like this.

Confusion shot (from BH) might cause a target to get dizzy, Underhand shot (from BH) can knock a target down. When the target tries to stand up, it will see the message 'you are too dizzy to stand up.' The target will then have to use 'dizzy recovery' to end the dizziness. I found the mobs of wookieworld love that combo.

Other specials can add different effects as well, warning shot, disarming shot etc, etc.

Thanks for all the replies this is helping alot. Wouldnt a root be the most effective? Or would it be better to go BH and KD/dizzy them?

They are both good, root and the knock down/dizzy combo. The thing I have seen, is that alot of mobs are not effected by my knock down. I might make them dizzy. Root, from pistols, will stick for a short time.

But as a ch, you will want low damage dealing specials that will not outdamage your pets. Those specials will be low in damage dealing, save the adv headshot for when the mob is low on life.

I would probably go for the root from pistols, if possible vice the BH stuff. It sticks 100% of the time, vice needing two shots from the BH line.

Actually, I get away with a two-lettered command for store, "/tellpet go", and that one seems to work alright. I don't know about the other commands as I tend to use four-lettered words for most of them.
