Thread: /tellpet broke?

Anyone else having problems with /tellpet command? Currently my pets are accepting all commands except attack in the case of my CH pets and harvest in the case of my Droids. I have test 3 pets and 2 droids. All same problem. And before some wise crack yes I am using the right command. /say and /yell work fine, /tellpet does not for attack and harvest causing me to have to spam spacial for the commands I use most often

/tellpet problems sometimes vary even from player to player. I've had /tellpet stop working out of nowhere, when it would work just fine for other people on the same server, in the same area...

Are you using 1 or 2 letters for your command? I know /tellpet doesn't work for me if it's under 3 letters. Sorry if ya know this

I must admit I just thought it was me...I have been experiencing lots of issues with it recently also. Intermittent, hence I haven't bothered reporting them. But sometimes it will work, sometimes it doesn't...but if I speak the command it does work...
Very annoying as my macros are setup with tellpet so I don't spam the surrounding countryside

I'm using one letter actually for attack and harvest and never had a problem before, BUT my others are full words (group, stay, wedge, etc etc). I'll retrain a few see what happens. Loggin out didn't fix it.
Update: yep sure enough. I changed my attack command to att in my targeting macro and harvest to harv in my harvest macro and works perfectly fine now. Grrr. So single character bad apparently. Thanks for the tip.

I've had trouble with my stay command since the patch, never had any kind of problem with /tellpet before.

I've been having problems too. Seems to work stop working every once in a while

I haven't had /tellpet problems recently, but during the times I have had a problem in the past, storing and recalling the pet has usually fixed the problem.
It's facinating that some people *never* get /tellpet to work along with various other wierd behavior. I would think it would be a server issue, but "not working at all" for some seems to say it's a client issue of some sort.

You HAVE to do it with at least three letter commands. More than likely that is the problem.

Well I can confidently say that none of my commands are ever single letter commands, they are all words. i.e.: stay, attack, friend, follow it, bedtime, form up...you get the idea.
And I still have problems with it. As previously noted, intermittent problems. Which makes it all the worse when you're facing something unbuffed and unarmoured that will tear you to shreds, you hit the attack macro hotkey...and the stupid thing stands there looking dopey whilst a couple of hundred kilo's of real mad (and bleeding) creature bears down on you...

Currently Issue #13 on our Issue/Request list. It's been a long time since this has happened to me (the last time was in the wilderness outside Kadaara on Naboo). Storing and recalling the pet seemed to clear it up.
But yeah, probably a separatephenomenon is that /tellpet doesn't seem to like single letter commands. When people bring me pets for training, I usually advise against assigning them.

If you have problems with /tellpet always check:
1. Are my commands 3 or more characters long
2. Did I accidently teach it the same command for two or more actions
3. When naming the pet did I forget to change the name back to the original command
4. That's all I have actully but if I think of some other dumb thing I have done that has gotten me ticked at a pet I will add to the little list... although the list will be long buried by then.
