I went out again today. Off of one mission lair I tamed 2 TMB and 1 DMA. I could have had a second but it aggroed and as I ran away it disappeared.

I could also cry. I had a Baby Screecher in the tame mode when it aggroed. I ran to get it peaced but it aggroed a Swirling prong. I came back and killed the prong but the baby disappeared as well. Even as I tapped the lair it never came back.

I have gone out every couple of days to try and tame a Screecher baby. Today I went out but could only pick up one screecher mission. I saw the Toxic Merek Battlelord mission and thought " What the heck I'll give it a try."

Out I went doing the Battlelord mission first. I eliminated the two battlelords and delirious merek that were outside the lair. I pulled back to heal my pets since they took quite a beating. At a safe distance I tapped the lair and a baby was the first to pop out. Shortly after another Battlelord and Delirious merek came out as well. Since I had three pets out I stored the Merek Assassin and refreshed my mask scent. I stepped in quietly with my remaining pets set to guard me.

/Tame and /Follow - You failed to tame a Toxic Merek Battlelord

I took a deep breath.

/Tame and /Follow - Success

I hightailed out of there and stored the baby. I threw up a new camp and brought my Merek Assassin back. Finished healing them and set to eliminating the lair to get my mission reward.

I then went and worked the Screecher lair thinking maybe this was my day indeed. But I was lucky in that I was struck with that plague attack. When that happened I imediately peaced the screecher and ran out from the battle and threw up another camp to begin healing. My mind was attacked and I throught I would be dead in no time. But believe it or not but my mind went down to 1/1 but I didn't get incapped. I sat there till the plague died out. I needed to take some Meon Gold to boost my mind so I could heal my pets again and finished the mission. Ah well no screecher baby.

Still my best taming day. I made 45K in mission rewards and got a Toxic Merek Battlelord baby to boot.

That's great. Way to go man! I've been trying to ever to get me a screecher. Being a MCH and a 3-4-4-3 Carbineer I'm having a difficult time getting through those missions solo. What three pets do you take out for these kind of missions anyway? I've been using a pair of dune lizards or a Rancor. Don't mind me, I'm just jealous.

Again Congrats.

I have several pet combos I will use. Its always 2 wild and 1 low level BE. And I'm always maxed out for the control level. When the TMB grows up I'll have to go to only 2 pets since it is a CL47 and I really want it in my pet line up.

question for you saba... I thought you could not have a pet out and tame a pet. Was I wrong or was I bugged when I tried this?

As long as you can have multiple pets out and you have 1 less than your max you can tame and have pets out. i.e. As a master CH you get to have 3 pets out. So to tame I put 1 away this leaves 2 and I can tame a third. I have always been able to do this.

Ah and remember the CL levels of the creatures... the max number of creature levels you can control is 70, so if you have two level 30 pets out you can only tame a level 10...

The TMB is CL45. Since the changes the DMA has better kinetic resist and is only CL40. The TMB is better for the other resists, but in fights where you only need kinetic the DMA is a better pet.

True, but not many babies start out at level 10 and its the baby level that matters for taming (you must be capeable of controling the adult but your "pets out" value is baby based.

I am a merik fan and know that the battlelord is one of the most stubburn creatures to tame. They always run and can aggro easily and when find them they usually always stay right beside mom making it a challenging tame. I think the merek species in general are one of the toughest to combat because there lairs (when static spawns) have at least 5 different merreks. I am looking for a deathshead and the lairs are tough because there are always 5 and sometimes 2 deathsheads out at same time. After cycling through first spawn the lair brings out the 2nd spawn really quick giving me very little time to use pet stems.

I tame always with a 19 dewie and a 50 lvl gurreck out.(CL total 69) Tamed a TMB 2 nights ago with this combo. I think that since the baby is a lvl 1, you can tame as long as you have less than 3 petsand less then cl of 70 totalout.
