Ok, I've posted this idea as a quirky, half thought-of remark to a "new pet tricks" forum but I'm really starting to like this idea so this gets it's own forum...subject...thing...
Now SWG pets are great for hunting with, but like a real pet your creature should be able to meet your needs on an emotional level and be a "companion" (like how some people say that owners of a dog or a cat live longer etc.)
But how do you do that in the game?
...well
What if you can train your pet to "entertain" you or people arround you, even going as far as joining you in a catina performance or something like that. I think this will be fun, would help entertainers heal, and would give you something to do when your pet is not in combat.
What do you think? I've gotten this idea off of owning "ScoobyDew" his "trick1" is modified to look like he's participating in a dance.

Might appeal to some people, but personally I spend as little time as possible in the cantinas.
There be some strange folk in there, there be....(listens carefully for the distant banjos)...

Sounds like a good idea! Like watching the fishes in an aquarium helps you to relax (well at least that's said
). But the healing rate should be a fraction of the healing rate of an entertainer/musician/dancer (like 5-10%) ...
Ok, i'm sure this will never happen, but we can dream

I like the idea, it gives the devs a way to hand the CH's something without ruining their precious combat balance.

Oh yes of course! The pet's healing rate should be a fraction of the entertainers, but if you are an entertainer and a CH (like I am) it would nice to have little bit of a boost to your healign rate

Well, that's another good idea ! But that should work only if you're making music. I think if a pet has 'relaxing' capabilities, it should be the same asa dancer ...
But then your pet could work as a "clothing attachment"

A pet without a musician or dancer healing would probably never happen it would be destructive to entertainers. much like many ch are anti bio eng. sometimes crossing into anothers territory is not recieved well lol
however as bonus to enhance entertainers abitlities then the concept might have a chance
ive actually posted mount and pet ideas for ch profession on somthing like the enhancement aspect on other threads and not just entertainers but all proffesions as a way to boost out profession back into some sort of role in the galaxy
good thought you had just needs tweaking :-)

hehe ok gotta tell you guys I have actually done this the last couple of nights. I have some music skill and so I thought why not try to have my pet out with me while playing? I did this in front of the theed starport, not the cantina as that can get busy. What I did was make a quickie macro of /tellpet Buggy t1 paused a few secs then did it again. I have it set for just a few lines of that and not recursive. Then I also run my flourish macro at the same time and it actually was pretty fun watching the pet almost co-ordinating with my flourishes. This really does heavily tax your action and so unless you have a doc around healing your action you won't be able to do this for long. It was fun, later at night, and I even got a tip for it

Maybe this can be an unofficial petition too, if the idea is as good as it's sounding?

You already know that if they implemented something like this, we'd see Sigfried and Roy in Coronet making Gurrecks and Razor Cats jump through flaming hoops and walk around on top of gigantic balls...
