Finally got to CH a few nights ago... woohoo!

My question is, do you have to do anything to make you pets grow? Feed them, etc etc etc? Or will they just grow over time?

Thanks for the help and sorry for the newbie question. Havent had much time to play lately... inlaws are here. Kill me now!

Thx

I am a brand new Wookiee CH. No boxes filled except the Novice one.

Before the patch I could tame a Kaadu male and now I cannot. I assume that this is working as intended and that the CL ( does that stand for creature level?) is too high. I can live with that.

Is there anyway to see what a creature's level is ? It does not come up in examine - is this information something I get with more creature knowledge likeif I where a master scout? Do I just have to walk up to creatures and learn from trial and error that "you cannot tame that" - or what ever the message is. I may have to check but I know that there is a line that says tamable when you examine a creature. I do not know if that changes as my level increases? Still it would be nice to know how much more I need to learn before I can tame that 'killer' flightless bird

Should'nt the CL be known to a CH?

By the way, I think that being a CH is really fun and prolonged the game for me but taming chuba's and gorst is getting old

Adding my newbie question on here.... What determines how quickly your pet grows? Time, xp, feeding it until it throws up?

The random number generator controls growth.

He will grow every 12 to 24 hours. Maybe 10% maybe more, maybe less. Some times he will miss a growth spurt. There is nothing you can do to affect it.

I am not sure what exactly you mean by level, but when I examine a creature it tells me what it's challenge level is. If the creature is say more then 5 levels above my current CH abilities I begin to doubt I can tame, but supposedly with this patch they have fixed the problem and if you can't tame it and control it you will not get the "tame" tab on the radial menu that comes up when you click on it and hold the mouse button down on it.

I don't remember exactly when I got the ability to recognize this as I am fairly close to Master Ranger at this point, so it has been a while since I have had this ability.

Ok I got novice CH a few nights ago and I am still experimenting on which class I want to take to master. So I went to try with CH first... I got a few babies in my datapad, one is a paralope and another is a rill. Now I realize they aren't great pets, but I can't figure out how to level them up.

They are very wimpy pets considering I got them as a baby and they do not hit hard, but I did tame them myself. My other pet which is a Kahmurra leveled while in my datapad, but I did use him the most. He is my non ch pet I use right now.

Do you have to group them for them to grow in power? or do they just grow by themself in the datapad...do you have to have them out because I can't train group yet, I am 0-0-0-0 still, but asking this for the future since I am just dabbling with the professions.

and if this is posted elsewhere please link me as I read the FAQ and may have missed it.

thanks in advance.

No, they will grow at about 10% every 12 hours (I read this and it roughly corresponds to what I've seen with my pets) in the datapad but I've heard (read) that they will grow faster (not sure how much) if you have them out with you. You don't have to group with them, just call them.

So they should be full size in about five RL days.

The babies grow in your datapad. It takes about 5-7 days to be full grown. Good starter pets are Cu Pa, Rock Beetle, Mountain Krevol. You can still use them to hunt while they are growing.

Can a noob CH tame a bantha?

Can a non medic heal pets with pet stimpacks?

Not having the points for medic is making getting CH exp with my Acupa quite the chore

You can tame regular Banthas as Novice CH.
There's also Feral Banthas, Bull Banthas and Matriachs you can tame when you have better skills.

Cool. Ive been looking for regular banthas around Tatooine and they seem to be hybernating.

Can a noob CH 0-0-0-0 name their pets, or do they need a 4th command to teach for the name to stick? Ive said the name 6-7 times but I have only 3 commands to teach it right now.
