Before I hire a ranger and hunt one of these things down, how much bigger are these from regular CuPas? If it's a minor difference, I won't bother, but if it's twice the size, I'd have to go get one.

They are much bigger than a regular wild cu pa. If you see them side-by-side, there's no question.

These guys are very zone specific. Try a zone called the jundland wastes south of the tusken bunker.

Also, try north of Mos Entha. I've found three spawns there. If you search for previous threads on this topic, you should find one with 3 or 4 different coordinate sets where lairs have been found on various servers, to give an idea of the spawn area.

Put it this way, it took me ten months to find mine. I hadn't seen one since Beta, and just picked my first one up a couple of days ago. I got mine by entering the sightings coordinates on swgcreatures.com and zig-zagging between the four points they had on there. Go VERY slow, like on a mount. Chances are they won't have time to pop if you're on your bike.
As for size, I am the tallest female wookiee model (so, the second tallest model in the game) and I come up to its front shoulder. Its head is much higher than mine. A human-size av would scale appropriately as one would scale on a taun-taun.

Hehe, found one tonight. Heres the WP -1742 5083 Tat just SE a bit from the tusken fort.

I went to the points they had on SWGCreatures.com, and guess what? 2 points had a player city on it, and the other two spawned nothing after circling for 40 minutes each. I've seen ONE of these things (a baby too) way way way back in the day when I first started playing, but none since. Of course, I try to stay away from tatooine, so I've most likely missed hundreds.
I guess I'm going to have to hire myself a ranger.

Yeah swgcreatures data is a bit out of date at times. Try the WP in my post. There were 2 groups of spawns in the general area there. The 1st group I killed til they quit spawning and no baby. The baby I got was in a group of 6 or so adults and I didn't have to kill anything. Jus' lucky on my part. On scylla there is a city nearby that WP so that may have helped out the amount of spawn there too. Gluck

Im off to look for one once I get my set of BE taming clothes(Im only going 0300, so I will have sod all taming bonuses). The three spots Ive seen them while out hunting are the Jutland Wastes region, in the hilly areas between Mos Espa and Bestine and in the mountains West Nor' West of Espa.
As an aside, considering how popular these are, and how annoying they are to find, any CHs on Euro-Infinity who want one can give me a yell and Ill provide my tracking services free of charge.

They are usually between Carkoon and Kenobis home, i got mine there.

Man, I was on a roll today..... Insomnia kept me up past server reset, as soon as I logged in, I went to the WP Marxo provided and got 2 wasteland CuPas, no lair, just sitting out in the wild. I was unbuffed and they were thisclose to 3 tusken warlords, but I got both of them & ran. Next stop? Talus, to look (yet again) for GSPs. On my way out of Dearic, boom, dead log, 3 GSPs. Got twin babies from it, and let my crimson razor clean up the rest. Next stop? Dantooine. Got a graul mauler lair, killed off the pair that were outside, tapped it once, and 2 babies popped out. 6 new pets in the course of an hour and a half... I'm QUITE happy.
Now....what the heck do I name them? 
It was pretty funny letting them hit the yard trash to make sure they grew. Side by side eating up those evil little durnis.... Ahhh.... Sometimes it's good to be a CH.
