Thread: Problem with Fleeing MOB's
faction missions because the stupid MOB's I have my pet's fight run away, and my pet follows out of range. Then of course the MOB respawns back at the camp I'm trying to blow up, with full stats, and my pet is gone!
I'm a MCH/BE combo, so I have NO combat capability, so my pet's are it. Anyone encounter this and have a way to work around this?
Take note of which NPC's run and which don't. WhenIdo rebel faction missions, I've found that stormtroopers and scout troopers run exactly as you describe, but officers don't. So when choosing missions I avoid stormtrooper camps like the plague and stick to Imperial Encampments. The amount of faction points aresimilar.
I'm sure there are rebel equivalents
I have this problem with Selonian destroy missions on Corellia; the Selonian captains have a very annoying tendency to kite an attacking creature pet away from the mission objective. My kusak stalker was kited away to Yoda only knows where one time; when I called him back to the data pad, he was at about 10% of his health bar. I assume he took care of the Selonian captain, but I never found the corpse.
Rogue CorSecs and Dralls like to do this, too, and Stormtroopers run like little girls away from dewbacks, even, which can be incredibly annoying, especially when you're drawn 250m away from the mission objective and an entire new set of NPCs is spawned to guard it.
But if your buffed, I say stick the pet on the base and attack the npcs while they are pre occupied on your pet.
Maybe I should drop marksman and do brawler? But will that increase my chances of getting beat down?

Ah, nope, I'm just an MBE/MCH. The most combat I have is novice Marksman with Pistol's 2. Not much room for combat xp with my 2 professions

Hehe...I feel your pain man. As a CH/BE, I've been asking myself the same question, but I seem to always come up with the same answer lately:
Yes, you're far more likely to get the crap kicked out of you.
My current play style involves me fighting nekkid (WOOHOO!!) so that I regen enough action and mind to keep spamming my pistol's specials, and keep my heals flowing. If I move too close to a mob that my pets are fighting, it usually turns and smacks me. Now, if you go brawler, odds are that it's gonna ignore your pets the majority of the time and just smack you instead. Even with armor (instead of nekkidness!?! tsk, tsk...), that can easily end up with you incapped or killed on bigger mobs.
If you're going to try the brawler thing, get some awesome kinetic armor, a good PSG mark 3, and keep your stims handy: you'll need them with the higher end mobs.
**On a side note: to help with this you might want to make yourself some med healing clothes so you can use at least stim c's.**

The running stormies can be a problem, but you can also use it to your advantage sometimes drawing a trooper far away from his buddies.
Don't forget you can switch targets. When one stormie flees sick the pet on anoter one and so on. They will generaly come back. Alternately you could get them to fight you first (make sure you have protection). Finaly you could go for a pet with a KD or posture change special and spam that on the bad guys. Oh and you may want to try going all ranged attacks with your pets, the stormies are less likely to run. Add a droid in for extra firepower.
also i didn't see you mention if you have any novice skills like brawler for one....novice brawler is a godsend for fleeing creatures/mobs /taunt which you get at novice brawler stops them in there tracks 95% of the time and it always come back to you right away
works good if you solo giant dune kimogila as they love to run ![]()
