Thread: Tiggs...a question.
I am a MCH and have lived on Dantooine since Jan, 04. I am in no way a tamer on the level of the legendary Tivo. This aside, I hunted Dant many a day for cash missions and resources.
As you may know, Dantooine is the home of the legendary Frenzied Graul. The FG (as we call it) is labelled to be tamable. Tamable as means that the creature spawns babies. Since the FG was supposedly made tamable again (over a year ago) there are no reliable sources of any such babies being tamed.
The point Tiggs, is that either the label is wrong. In such case, all any CH wants is an admission of this error. The other possibility is that these beasts are so rare, that I will be the lead dev of SWG before anyone finds a FG (baby). In this case, the CH request the spawn rate be fixed. The odds of 88,000,000:1 is lottery like.
When the reward is great, according to Pascal, then one must make the minimum wager to participate. Those of us left have made a wager that SOE wants to do its part. In this instance, the Tamer CH would love to hear either SOE made an error and the CH is not tamable or that FG do have a spawn rate but it is so skewed that a CH will never find one and SOE will do its best to remedy the spawn rate to bring it inline with other rare spawns.
Can you please find us a more acceptable answer than all spawns work appropriately? Meaning a more specific answer as to the dilemma with the FG (baby).
Tiggs,
If I may be so bold ...
I have hunted Frenzied Grauls with a passion since they were flagged tamable. Not a single one who's crossed my pass has lived to tell the tale. I have spent countless hours scouring the SW quadrant of Dantooine from the Imperial Outpost to the extreme SW corner of the map to the Dantari Lakeside Village in the south.
When I say scour, I mean this: I go from the Imperial Outpost west about 2K in a straight line. I go directly south for about 200m then head east in a straight line for about 2K then I repeat the process until I reach the bottom of the map.
When I come across a random spawn, I slay all four spawn cycles. If I come to a lair, I kill the first spawn and continue until the cycle of three is complete. Then I proceed to work the lair. I ensure I am very methodical about this. The only time I have been killed or a pet incapped was when facing four Frenzied Grauls at once. I would have survived the moment, but when my pet engaged one of he Grauls, the beasts would start running for the horizon. This makes crowd management very difficult when one is a TKM.
Now, since December of 03, I have kept careful track of the number of Frenzied Graul I have killed. The number is now at 493. Call me obsessive, but this creature and the Bark Mite Burrower Queen are the only two "Extincts" I would care to have. The BMBQ's do not exist on Shadowfire at all to my knowledge. Otherwise I would have been raising cash to purchase one, regardless of price.
The only thing I have not tried is getting a very large group together to go hunting them. Virtually no players wish to assist me in my hunt to begin with, and convincing them to endure such a boring task is not easy at all. My point is, I do not know if anyone else has been this a-nal retentive about trying to find a Frenzied Graul (baby). In considering this post, I thought perhaps you should know that some people are out there actively looking to tame one of these beasts. The only confirmed tamable critter I have not tamed myself has been the Wild Dune Boar. Bull Rancors, Great Plains Stalkers, etc. etc. ... been there done that.
To be honest, this is one reason I cancelled my account in the first place. I have reactived in hopes of getting invited to the Combat Revamp Beta, but that is the only reason. Last night was the first time in weeks I have actually logged on for more than 10 minutes to check e-mail and pay structure maintenance. There is little for me to do as CH anymore. I become bored with the game very quickly now because there are few challenges, and the places I may have some interest in seeing are camped out the wazoo by the loot greedy.
But over time, I have become tired of searching for something that may not even exist. I am afraid to have faith because of all the current bugs which have yet to be fixed since the game was released a year and a half ago. As you can ptobably already tell, I take this issue very seriously. Please take to the time to look into this and respond with some useful information. I do not mean for that to sound harsh or rude, but so many times, the response "it's working as intended" does very little to answer a question.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
Pem Aoldon - MCH since August 2003 - Hoping for a reason to play again.
Even there rarest of rare resources spawn from time to time, you would think in 1 year at least 1 person would have seen a FG baby even without a successful tame.

I must say that I am VERY impressed with the civilized and dignified manner in which the concerns on this issue have been expressed in this thread. Its a welcome change!!
Now for my two creds...
It has always been my understanding from reading info posted on these boards and on SWGcreatures that the FG has not produced babies for quite some time. The "tamable: yes" tag is an error/bug similar to what one finds on certain lair bosses and supposedly on some Gurk species.
Even if the chances to encounter a FG baby were the same as finding BR baby SOMEONE would have tamed one by now...probably one of you hardcore hunters!
So, it is this Ch's opinion that the search for FG babies will produce the same results as a search for a Krayt dragon baby.....none what so ever. Its just one of the "little" things that need to be corrected in the CH universe.
Great to see you back. Like you I find the boredom of the game tedious. I log in once a week to check any progress that has been made. It is much like watching an amorphous sheet of glass flow out of its pane over time. We CH, have tried to offer solutions. This seems like it would take 15 minutes out of someones day to look for this information.
I had hoped Tiggs could get it done. Maybe JFreeman can.
