After a lot of debating i decided to go with TKM, and so far it seems like a good decision.

All the meditation stuff really helps in the wild, and TKM with powerboost can take on a number of mid-high level mobs without buffs, especially with a good pet tanking. Im only a novice ch right now, but ive got a bio engineered gurreck given to me 3 days after i started playing the game thats got high HAM and 50% kinetic resist.

Being able to heal wounds, powerboost, and have enough defense and power to take on most standard mobs seems like the best path to go. I know a lot of people who prefer rifleman though... oh well, just wanted to see what the rest of the ch's out there do

I plan on going:

TKM

MCH

medic 4340 (or something along these lines, maybe more into scout or something)

comes out to a 250 point template, which works perfectly for me

well, i'm rifleman just because it's my favorite combat proff. and I only dropped it once. Have pet tank, while you sit back and shoot

ranged works best, send in a tank and back off to ideal range. With melee pets tend to come after you instead of the tank, but its still extra damage and you wont get DB'd while a pet is fighting.

I was Master Dancer and TKM to begin with. I didn't want to lose Master Dancer to pick up CH so I slowly started dropping TK skills. The more I dropped the worse things got till I just decided to drop it all and go with a ranger profession for the first time ever since I started playing SWG. I absolutely HATE ranged professions, but this rifle is growing on me and I kind of enjoy having a good solid tank pet to take care of me.

By the time I am finished mastering CH, I'll only be able to be novice rifle, but I really think I'll be ok No way in hell I am dropping Master Dancer hehe.

Carbineer + Squad Leader 0-0-0-4. Surely ranged weapons work better with CH skills.

On FarStar: MYLO EXAGONALIS ---> Mon Calamari Pikeman / Doctor.

On Chimaera: JANTO KORMAKIS ---> Human Commando / Rifleman / Squad Leader

TKM, MCH, medic 4/3/4/0
my template exactly i love this combo
i dont need wound packs to heal myself
i can use the med packs to heal myself and alternate with pet stims to heal my pets
TK is a very balanced class (IMO) and rounds off CH very nicely
the only real drawback is that you gotta have burst run ready incase you run into 100% kin resist creatures

Carbineer and loving it. My strength therefor doesn't lie in doing great damage in short time, but in putting all state effects on my target in seconds, thereby weakening it. Most enemies have all states applied (except poison/disease still need pets for that) in 5 seconds which is quite nice to see It's fun to see how a npc keeps missing and falls down over and over again

I use MBH.

The LLC line of BH rocks with CH. You have an area cone attack at master that rakes in the xp. Have pet attack mobs and draw them all to it. Get within 15 meters and spam Lightning cone 2. 3 shots normally takes down the entire group depending on what I am hunting. Quick xp with little to no harm to yourself and minimal to your pet. Normally just hit him with a single stim c and its back into the fray!

any master profession works well with CH. ive done pistoleer and swordsman. range classes are not always the best as the above posts said. choose what ya want. i prefer being melee is some form so i can heal my pets easily.plus i can use some nice wild pets that i like without the fear they will get DB'ed. many of them couldnt tank if they were stuck to take all the damage thatwould comewhen your a ranged profession.i never had a problem with swordsman. atm im working on doing tkm cause i want meditate and a few boxes in rifle for when creatures decide to run. Play what you want and have fun. Its all on what best works for you not someone else.

I have

TKM/MCH/Fencer(3000)/Medic(2000)
and
MBE/CH(4434)/Some FS stuff

I make pets with my main and use them on my alt basically.
I am loving TKM/MCH. I have tried Mfencer/MCH as well on the test center. It did not work too well as Mfencer doesnt have KD skill and could not kill the mob fast enough. TKM gives me KD, meditation and very nice damage/defense.

If you have a disk space on your PC and have fast connection, I suggest you try your template on the test server. Its good to know exactly what you are going to get before you spend days grinding.

I use TKA untill now. Im going for Fencer with the meditation tree of TKA.

Best of 2 worlds if you ask me. But this is just a test for me, TKA works great with CH.

On my first MCH I use Carbines, and yeah its fun watching my rancor slap down the stormtroopers while faction farming

My 2nd MCH is Rifles and I love the fact that I can drop a rancor in under 15 secs with my T21 doing mind shot 3 over and over. Was hunting Enraged Bull Rancors today and my lvl 29 non-bemount I have was tanking and I could drop them before they did more than a few hundred points of dmg to my mount. Now for hunting those bulls TKM does rock as does any good melee prof with high resists to states, but if you have a good mid to high lvl pet for a tank, then Rifleman rules.

I have used both Carbines and Rifles as well as Fencer, and of the 3 I prefer Rifleman so far. Just watching those mind shots for 1500 to 3500 pts a pop every sec or so is amazing. With some good rolls on the shots from the random generators you can drop any rancor in under 15 secs.

And once you have MCH and xps dont matter anymore, then strafe shot 2 rules for taking out 4 or 5 of em at a time. And the nice thing about Dath is you can just run around and find rancors for massive xp with no missions all day long. Usually during one buff I could get 140k of xp using a lvl 26 to 30 pet there. And Dath seems to be one of those planets that are really underpopulated, or at least it is on both servers I have my CH's on.

Hope this information has been of help.
