Thread: diappearing pets
According to my datapad the pet is summoned, out and about doing its merry thing, just no where in sight. I have to store the pet and recall it for it to be seen visually.
It has not happened to me whilst a pet has been grouped, is it happening to you with an ungrouped pet?
YOu also gotta bear in mind sometimes if you send the pet to attack near a server boundary, your pet goes and runs off in the opposite direction to what you are attacking and you can lose the pet that way.
If you got more info on how to get this bug to be replicated, let me know, I'm sure the devs will want to see it too. If you got a consistent way of replicating this problem, send in a bug report with the exact details on how to reproduce the bug.

This has been around for a while. I first noticed this happening one night with my BE Bol when I was out hunting Giant Carrion Spat. I wasn't alloud to sample DNA from and I was hit with the "you cannot tame that" bug. Either I was at the wrong place at the wrong time or all these occurances are tied together.
I already know that not being able to Sample DNA means the babies are untamable, and visa versa.

OK, if you notice any other particular trends, please post back here, I'll see if I can consistently replicate the problem.
Its ok to be aware of the problem but unless the QA team can replicate the problem it is hard to nail down the bug.
What I suggest is try to note if this is occuring near a server boundary, this is usually the case when the pet behaviour becomes irratatic. If it is the server boundary not much may be able to be done about it, as this has caused problems for CHs and other pets ever since the launch of the game.
Here aremy experiences:
When calling pets: if you call a second pet/droid immediately after the first one spawns, the first pet will disappear. I have also noticed that called pets have a delay before they will respond to the "group" command. This delay seems to match the delay needed to wait before calling the second pet. If you call the second pet during this short delay time, the first pet will disappear 100% of the time.
When Grouped: The biggest place where I have had disappearing pet issues has been on the Rryatt Trail. My pets are always grouped with me, but many times on the Rryatt Trail (particularly the Woshyr Canopy (read: not the Webweaver paths)) my grouped pets would disappear/warp. Since they were grouped, I could "see" where they were in their info bar, and it was always ~1000 m and "out of area". Unfortunately for my (at-the-time) low-level self, once this bug would occur, I was never able to re-call any pets on the trail. I would have to exit the path (usuallly by cloning), and return and hope the bug would not repeat (it occured around 85-90% of the time I visited the Trail - I always use my pets). Eventually I reached CL80 and finished the paths through sheer brute force and a lot of healing. And yes this would typically (if not always) happen after combat. On a side not, my pets would sometimes fall off the webweaver path, but in these cases, I could simply re-call them.
Its been around as long as I've played the game.
Publish 21 seemed to increase it 10 fold. Maybe 22 has made it even worse?

Hadn't seen it for a several months, but saw it 4 times last night.
Once in the middle of battle dissappeared right in front of my eyes!,two seemed to be at the end of a battle, the last one in the middle of training (no it wasn't the store command!)
And yes, the datapad says that it's out, and I can store it from there. So it seems to be around and non-visable, but non responsive to commands
