I agree...this is unacceptable. SWG has long been saying the CU and post CU patches were to encourage grouping...this one patch basically killed grouping all together. It is no longer worth my time to hunt with my friends who are at different levels then I am because no matter the level it takes about the same time to kill something as it does by myself killing the same animal at my level and I get less experienced when grouped.


Well I guess it's back to solo grinding instead of having fun with friends...

I have a feeling Solo Xp will be nerfed next to make grouping viable again.

well let me elaborate from a non MCH

XP was extreamly slow before, and I couldn't use my guns at all else I'd maby get 100ch xp if I was lucky against a clvl 80-82 mob


pretty much just had to standt there watching my groupmates fight and my pet doing diddely damage to the mob to get anywhere...

as it stands now if I fight along with my pet I'll be lucky if I get more then 10 ch xp when soloing a same clvl mob

I love Ch always have always will, but this is so insanely disheartening, to feel that you are now going nowhere fast

It doesn't matter now. They're reverting the xp change due to the outcry.

Haha! Check the forums... hehehe, I think you meens "Check the patch notes", run the patcher, turn off autoplay, it's right up top.


Test Center group experience calculations have just been reverted to pre-publish 22. We strongly encourage our players to create a character on Test Center and report any problems that may arise as soon as possible. The publish from Test Center will be pushed to our Live service later on tonight. This will not require a downtime however some players may need to log out to see the changes take affect.


I am very happy to see this, notice! They see their mistake, are working on fixing it ASAP, and not sooner! They're testing it first to try and avoid another catastrophy. Smart move in my books. Glad they jumped on this as quickly as they did, I'm sick of being CH0000 already


[edit] I kinda hope they try again to lower exp gain though, it is way way too high pre-pub 22, they just need to lower it... uh... less...

Sometimes it's better for me to group with some of my pets. For example, I'm a pathetic CL59 (MCH/MBE MAX-Template) compaired to my CL70 pet. When I take around CL59 missions, I can group with my pet, who would clearly have a statistical advantage over the spawned CL59, but be brought 'down' because of my level and gain more XP than letting it fight as an ungrouped CL70.

Yeah, pets go to the level determined by players instead of contributing.

That's actually good because a bunch of low levels boosted to 70 because of a pet might have a rough time with their missions. Using it to get a better "low level" pet is an interesting use, though. I hadn't though of that since I'm a high level.

I feel they are completely unnaceptable and has nerfed every profession in the game. Now I will admit that xpbeforepublish 22 was fast and abundant to get making it very easy to go from padawan jedi tofull template jedi to 1-2 months. Now for a jedi its going to take6 months for a jedi to get done with their temp.


Now I dont mean to use Jedi as my example as allprofessions have been gimped with ch getting very low experience points in group.I have been taking a break from the game this week but logged on this morning and got on with a group in Mining Outpost Dantrunning bol missionsand each player was getting 100 to 200 points per critter when before pub 22 would have got 1200-1300 points per. Not going to say what my pet got for xp as it was very sad.


So what this means is now its going to make even regular characters and creature handlers takefar longer to master their professions.Also I found that as the patch stands now that if u grind solo u xp faster making grouping for xp no longer necessary. Solo i was able to get the full 1.2k per creature and was able to kill 3 bols before the rest of the group killed the entire mission. They got roughly 2.4k xp where I got 3.6 xp.


So after reading this what do u guys think?


I did send a in game complaint to csr as this in my oppinion is unacceptablefor all the new players coming to the game. This doesnt really effect me because I have mastered my profesisons and my Jedi characteris done.

Updated with xp changes being restored to what they were. I now demand that CH be restored tothe state it was before december of 2003 Neeoooowwwww!!!!!

If this is all about too many Jedi, they should look at additional content to lengthen the village and Padawan trials. Gated quest oriented content could lengthen the village and padawan quests to slow down the jedi rush. This would also cause only the more dedicated to go for Jedi. It might also make it less of a grind. Something may have needed to be done but not to the detriment of the other professions.

Well it solved the pet grouping issue (lower XP if you group those pets!)


It does rather defeat the point of grouping though - I'm back to making more XP soloing (even if it is just for pet XP since I've capped )
