Hello, I am a MBE/CH. We have been having a problem recently with are new pet crafting system. The problem is, the devs have stated that some of the pets we are making (especialy the non ch variety) are too strong for their level. Now, this by itself is not that much of a problem. All we have to do is adjust the stats/lvl of the pets we make. The problem is, the devs have not given us ANY information on what stats are acceptable for any given level. In fact, they have not given any documentation on the BE pet system at all. So, we are left making pets with an uncertin future. We have no idea what pets are getting nerfed or why.

As for me, I am at the end of my rope. The fact that the devs have not bothered to give us any type of response on this issue has led me believe that we need to force the issue. To that end, I am going to send the game (in as much as I can) back to the pokemon days of SWG. Where almost every player is running around with a non ch tank.

How do I plan on accomplishing this? Well, if you did not know, it is possible to create lvl 10 pets with 10k health and 55-60% kinetic resists. Most BE's are unwilling to make animals like this becuase it is obvious that they are out of wack with the current system. But, since the devs are not even willing to post a sentance or two for us on this issue, I am going to start. And I am going to give them away.

You can see the thread I stared on the BE forum here.

Please, feel free to flame me, scream, rant and yell. Maybe the devs will listen to you. They sure as hell are not listen to the BE forums.

Thanks for your time.

Go for it. Nothing makes devs act like exploiting.

I hardly consider it exploiting when the BE is actually doing there job. Creating a better pet than you can find out in the wild is supposed to be their job, but the devs have decided not to let pet wars come about again. Please keep the word exploit in check. It doesn't apply to everything.

Hey, you don't need to rely on me. Point the BE's on your server to this thread or the one on the BE forum. I have the recipies for these kinds of pets all spelled out. The more the merrier as far as I am concerned.

Hey Aluf,

While I empathize, nothing makes me angrier than to hear this. I am thoroughly against non-CH having this capability. We spend skill points to have what little edge we do have. Most of our pets tank fro our secondary skill. Non-CH pets with the same ability we have is utterly useless. My real question to you is that of an ethical nature. Once you create these pets for the sole purpose of getting them nerfed, do you plan on compensating the people who bought your pet? I have an up and coming BE and find this rather distasteful that you would use the customer as a means to and end only. I do not believe that the ends justify the means. No on the other hand if you make these Uber CL10 pets and flood them out for free, I can see the point to your cause. Short of that if you make a killer profit you are not exploiting SOE you are exploiting your customer. Buyer beware does work to an extent in this game. Buyers tend to get gun shy of whole professions rather than individuals. I will not buy a BE currently because I do not know if the stats will be adjusted or the CL will be raised once i crack the deed.

Again, you must do what you feel. I would warn against using the customer to reach your goal. The devs are not posting anywhere at the moment. These Validity Checks are the biggest threat to CH's ang BE's currently. It makes us meaningless and it makes BE's fraudulent.

Not against broad changes, just profession specific ones (read as CH) that go against what we've been told in the past.

I thought I stated quite clearly that I was giving them away.

5 starts fro me. It seems clear to me that you see the hole in the BE-CH relationship and want it fixed just like we do. We want our skills to be worth something and I applaud you for seeing that.

You didn't create the problem. It is there in the game no matter what you do. Hopefully your actions will help to get the problem fixed. All we really need right now is some statement on where they (the developers) plan to go with this. I know you want to treat your customers fair and you are in a bind now too. You can build them a low quality pet that no one would want because it is not the best. Or you could build them one of the best you can do and believe that they are out of balance and likely to get nerfed. Tight spot for an ethical player. Of course there will be people out there trying to make a killing on it while they can.

Your efforts will actually help the market by helping to destroy the price the money grubbers can grab from the un-suspecting BE customers that COULD be nerfed. A simple statement might help honist BEs do business again and it could be made with zero coding. Just a statement of how they plan to address it.

Of course making the plan on how to address it will take some work by the developers too to try to research the posibilities and consequences of changes.

The issue here has to be forced.

The devs are not going to do anything unless they are backed into a corner.

Believe me I can understand your frustration. But don't be surprised if you get BE hit with a larger nerf bat than they would have otherwise done by taking this tactic.

Yes it seems to take mountains to move Devs, but if pushed like this they tend to hit back in kind.

To offer an alternative, I would suggest pushing the promise of documentation that was made to BEs awhile back.

Just my 2 credits though.
