Here's an age-old question for those MCH out there. Do you use one really high level pet, two level 35-ish pets, or three pets?
I generally use two level 35 pets, though I'm toying with the idea of having a BE make me a really great level 70.

for sheeer power 2 be pets or one wild/be is the best option, for asthetics 3 cats are nice but so's one of anything big or some widl twins

I noticed that you're on Flurry. Good luck finding a good BE willing to make a level 70 pet. I've been looking for a few months now and have gone through several BE's none of which could pull it off. If you do find one though, please let me know (kudali in game). Good luck!

I generally hunt with two pets. Both are BE gurrcats, one CL 41, one CL 29. Obviously, the CL 29 gets a bit more beat up, but I watch more carefully, and have petstims handy to keep him from getting incapped and suffering a loss of vitality. Most of the time though, he canhang in there with the other, and the two together can deal out a fair amount of damage.

i use all three combos. i have a 67 gurrcat and a few others as singles, 36 and 31 gurrecks/34 and 36 slice hounds ect. for duos, and 37 nargalath/23 gurreck/10 razor cat for trio
most of the time i use the duos when im hunting alone, the trio when im hunting with a friend, and the singles when doing caves/confined spaces or hunting with the guild.

big things run away sometimes and it's a pain in the ass.
- one big thing like rancors or webmastersare best for npcs and pve.
- 2 or 3 BE cats with special state attacks (need intimidate, stun, and blind) are best for pvp.

1 Pet for large engagements (Peko Albatross type foe).
2 Pets for basic PvEplay.
3 Pets for PvP, makes is a little harder to ignore the pets. (Just a little)

gods id love to get all beast mebers on the same server as mch's thne get everyone same faction, equipped with rancors and go base raiding, jsut to see the defenders expressions when an army of rancors decends on them (altohugh rhow kwi packleaders woudl work better, or even arachne webmasters)

Hmm, never thought of an all out CH invasion, might be pretty cool. Master CH with a master combat profession, that would be pretty cool.

The following is my twin/trio config. I have those pets, but the concept that follows the list is just that: concept. I have not yet tested all those plans and I honestly do not know if they work or not. If anyone has any experience with some of these configurations, and let me know how it works out, I would appreciate it...
# Pet Type CL Damage Ranged Special1 Special2
1 Triplet1 23-24 200 Yes Intimidation Blind
2 Triplet2 23-24 200 Yes Dizzy Crippling
3 Triplet3 23-24 200 Yes Stunning Dizzy
4 Twin1 35 400 Yes Intimidation Blinding
5 Twin2 35 400 Yes Dizzy Crippling
6 Big Tank 46 500 No Intimidation Blinding
7 Screecher 55 450 Yes Unknown Plague Strike
8 Recluse 44 450 Yes Poison Sprey Strong Poison
9 Mini Tank 15 100 No Strong Poison Strong Disease
Team 1: Pet 1+Pet 2+Pet 3
This team will let you apply various state changes to mobs. With ranged attacks enabled, you can tank yourself if you choose to do so.
Team 2: Pet 4+Pet 5
This team will be able to tank most of tougher mobs. Also this will be easier to control than Team 1. However, state change attacks are not as intense as Team 1’s.
Team 3: Pet 6+Pet 2 (or 3)
This is a variation of one tank + one shooter. Pet 6 should be able to take most of the beating itself and a shooter can support the attack from a safe distance.
Team 4: Pet 8+Pet 1 (or 2 or 3)
This team is all ranged. It would be best used in large scale PvP or PvE against multiple targets. You can start tanking yourself and after all mobs are around you, you can command the team to start poisoning everything.
Team 5: Pet 7+Pet 9
This should probably used only in PvP situation where you would use Pet 9 as a diversion and Pet 7 applying disease to multiple targets. Pet 9 should probably be a large creature skin to distract your enemy’s attention.
Note:
- BIG problem with these is that high level mobs(like NS) do not get affected by most of state change attacks that pets do.
- All members except 7 and 8 are BE pets.
- Some data such as damages and special attacks may vary a little.
- I have been making those triplets with kinetic resist of 60 and light armors. The only pet I cannot stick a light armor would be pet#9 "mini tank".
- Right now I often use Team3 (Big tank + one shooter) with Intimidation/Crippling/Dizzy specials in most of PvE situations and works very well.

Yea it was one of the various CH nerfs.
The first one, in August '03. That's when the CL 70 celing was imposed. Also imposed the first cert system for pets, which was flawed in that it led to the infamous 3/2/0/0 dabblers who used one graul mauler(best tank in the game at that time, superior to a rancor or a gurreck) to tank for them. Which led to the more restrictive cert system we have today, imposed as part of the Great Nerf of December '03.

Is there some limit where you can't use 3 uber pets at the same time?
