I signed on to the forums tonight and looked down the list of recent messages. Many of them had the most recent message from a Joker9125 titled "Please help CHs". The message is as follows:
Hello everyone I am sorry to have to do this but I am seeking your help. We all know of the huge nerf the CH's have faced and the continual screwing of our profession by the devs. While its not just us that the devs are ignoring in favor of the Jedi and JTL I do belive we have hadit the worst. They are even fixing the problem of AFK buff bots and spammers.
So please help you fellow SWG players and support the un-nerf of the CH. Im not saying restore it to its former uberness but simplybalance it with the other professions and increase the SP requirements so that it will be hard to mix it with another combat class to prevent those munchkins from turning SWG into another beast wars.
Now where I do agree that there are many issues that need to be fixed with CH, spamming all the other professions forums will do nothing but get us looked down upon. People do not go to the chef forum to talk about CH, or the DE forum, or architect etc. So can we keep our issues here and not bother everyone else with messages that will only make us look like a bunch of whiners? Besides, isn't trolling on everyone else's forums against TOS?

their are to few of us for the devs to listen to and i am sick of reading post after post about how badly screwed we are. I dont know what else to do I would talk to a dev personally if i knew how. Belive me I in no way like resorting to this and I am fully prepared to be flamed for it. I apoligize for the spamming but you cannot deny that without support from other profession we will never get fixed. Again i sincerly apologize for the spamming but i see no other choice. All professions are broken in some way or the other but none quite like CH.

Amen.
^^ By the way, several professions have seen their profession through to the situation it is now - the profession players make the difference for they are the ones who know about it. Its your profession, Its your community, Its your chance to make it happen.

Yes, all professions are broken in some way. There are issues in every forum. Smugglers have been promised a complete revamp well over a year ago. Pikemen have defense and accuracy issues. Carbineers have damage type, defenseand speed issues. Pistoleers have DPS and speed issues. If every profession started trolling on everyone else's boards, there'd just be a whole mess of people complaining about their professions on the other forums, and none of the actual issues would get any attention. How would we like it if smugglers came here and started complaining about the revamp they've been promised again and again? I feel bad for them, but it isn't a CH issue and should be dealt with on the smuggler forum, not the CH one. It works the other way around too. Oh and by the way, I wouldn't be suprised if you get suspended for a bit for trolling.

Any player that follows other professions to an extent knows how bad off we are. Any player that doesn't, even if informed, is probably going to forget it in a few weeks when they go back to thinking only of their own profession.
If you have the opportunity to mention our plight during a discussion that is fine, but going around to other boards spamming them is going to get you ignored and make people resentful. Resentful people ignore and deride topics they might have otherwise supported if presented in a less annoying manner.
Do you like spam? Does it ever change your opinion? What do you think of the people and causes that spam you? Think about your answer, then consider how anyone else is going to act when put in the same situation.
Upsetting the people you want to get help from is detrimental to the cause.

I must apologize. I went abouttrying to gain support of the other professions entirely the wrog way. I can assure you this will never happen again from me at least.
But their is something else that bothers me that I think will happenif/when the combat revamp comes out
If they weaken all the other combat profession to the level CH is now it will be just as it was before another beast wars and we will end up getting nerfed yet again by the devs.
How to prevent this from happening? I purpose we raise the SP requirement to be a CH. Definately master scout and at least 2 lines of medic should be required to be a CH this would make it considerably harder to mix CH with other combat professions.
If it is harder to Mix with other combat professions the Devs might even think of upping the pwer of pets since you wolnt have the problem of a TKM MCH combo like in the old days.
IMHO they shuld have done this instead of "balancing" us out for the combat revamp
Pets are already laughable in pvp and almost as bad in pve if we get nerfed another time they will be just pices of eye candy with no combat value at all.

Many of us share your concern and predict this as well.
I'm not sure the skill point requirement will work though. They will have to grandfather all of us that already have handler, so we will still be able to dable to our hearts' content. What do they do about us?
Right now, no other profession has more than one mastery and one line as a pre-requisite either. Making us take more means we should be the undisputed rules of combat and I can tell you now that will not go over well with a lot of the population.
What I advocate is making our skills more of an exclusive profession. You can use your handler skill OR you can use your combat skills. As long as both are usable at once, the creature handler portion is always in peril of being nerfed into uselessness.
Maybe there are some other solutions out there. I'm not keeping my hopes up that the devs will realize the seriousness of the problem nor will they address it properly.

Well if the devs refuse to fix it then they will suffer the consiquenses of everyone being a CH again. But hey look at it this way at least all of us who have it and stick with it till then will be the uber rules for awhile untill EVERYONE else in the game decides to pick it up as well. Then its just gonna get lame.

As a former master who is picking it up again from the start, I can honestly tell you that it's a much much slower grind than it used to be. The first thing I did was get myself to management 3, remembering the double xp for using 2 pets. This no longer works because the XP was halved for each creature. Yes it is quite a bit more of a grind than it used to be, but I'm making my way through it. It also made me happy because everyone wont be a master CH in a couple days like before.

While I agree that the CH forum is *the* place for CH complaints it seems that there is a problem among players in that we don't have enough solidarity.
The Devs have repeatedly claimed that only 20% of players post to the forums. How much of that 20% is aware of the issues in CH? How many of them would be interested in our plight if only they had it brought to their attention? In my discussions with other players it seems quite often they are surprised to hear that other professions are as broken as or more broken than their own.
As players we need to talk to one another a bit more. Spamming the forums may not be the way to do it but we have an entire player community, not just CH, who are being screwed by badly thought out or badly implemented changes to this game. We as players need to recognize that we are not uniquely broken exceptions in an altogether working game it is in fact the other way around. Some of us are uniquely working exceptions in an altogether broken game.
This game has all the potential in the world but until *all* of the players *demand* that it live up to that potential it will simply be a war of attrition between marketing and consumers. Arguing about which profession is least or most broken or arbitrarily dividing ourselves into separate warring factions is going to do as badly by this game as anything the Development side has ever done.

/em flips Stiker the bird.
You want to scold someone do it in private. You want to get CH concerns resolved you do it where you can. It isn't as if the Devs listen. As pointed out, the Devs believe only 20% of the player population post to forums. Mr. Haden stated, this 20% is the ONLY unhappy population of the game. We must us any medium necessary to have our plight heard. I commend Joker for his attempts.
If there need to be any admonishment, it should be placed on yourself. Maybe you were not here when every ass clown and his mother was posting inside the CH forums supporting the nerfs. For the most part, you can never distinguish who is CH and who is not. In fact, Stiker for all I know, you are not.
If you have a problem with WHAT he said then debate it. IF you have a problem WHERE he said it, then that is on you.

I do this often, discussing the woes of the CH in the context of another profession's problems. Recently the CMs feel picked on, and I tell them that I understand the problems (and being a CM in the form of my alt, Jeffn, I fully understand the profession having worked my way up to master in it twice) but CMs need to understand that they're not the first profession to face heavy nerfage. I don't know how I manage to do it, but I've stumbled in to the three professions that have had or will have the most taken away from them: CH, Commando, and CM. And, to be honest, I get a lot of sympathy from people who have not played much CH but have been Commandos or CMs for some time. We have allies out there who have also been set apon because the pure combat "I want my I win button NOW" crowd has whined and bitched that their uber templates have flaws in them that some other profession can exploit. The cries of the defense stackers are far and away the most annoying, as CM poisons cut through their shields like a hot knife through butter and worse yet, it's a CAREBEAR doing it to them!
