Thread: If I Drop MCH .... what happens

you shrivel up into a little ball, then emerge as the evil TKM, and become "useful" in combat, and are "wanted" in groups...
/sarcasm off
i have been told that they do not vanish as long as you do not call them... i can't prove it for sure though
(Why would we quit MCH? Many of us are quitting CH or simply not keeping it at the master level because we find we don't use our pets enough to justify the skill point expenditure. Others of us are doing so because we've had CH for a long time and would like to dabble in other professions because we're getting tired of SWG. Or both. I am reducing my level of CH skills to explore another profession, and not TKA--that's the skill I'm KEEPING. I'd initially planned to drop TK in order to keep CH, but it didn't really make sense for my playstyle which relies on having some combat ability.)

If you drop some CH, the pets stay in your datapad and you can't put new ones in (correct?). But, can you still call your existing pets and store them back in the overloaded datapad as long as you don't try to get any NEW ones in there?
No, you can't put any new ones in, because once you drop master your stored pets drops by 4, and unless you release to one pet below whatever your current stored pets number is, you won't be able to add.
The pets you have existing on the datapad when you drop the skills, however, as long as you have the ability to call them by CL, can be brought out and returned normally.
I also think you can have 22 lvl 10 pets and be able to call any of them right?

I don't see why not. However, I'm not sure I'd want to test this theory by dropping the CH box and risking the consequences. Then again, they're only CL 10 pets, so go for it...they are very easily replaced, for the most part. There are plenty of low level babies out there, but as creatures become more powerful, fewer babies seem to be available.
Greggthegrmreapr beat me to it!
I was going to say something along the lines of your life begins to have no meaning, everything becomes dark, you lose your will to go on...
Seriously, though, I have done this. It's traumatic. I don't think anything with the possible exceptionof thebaz nitch frenzy first vit hit on my beloved GSP Butch has pained me more in this gamethan giving up the MCH box. Then the last skill box I gave up to master CM, which cost me the ability to call Butch and his brother Akheheton...a gift/adoptee of a fellow guild member who, much to her own sorrow, had to give up CH to pursue her medical career.
What happens is the pets just sit in your datapad, uncallable. You can sort of visit them, but it's just not the same as Butch and Akhe going after a sharnaff bull on a sunny afternoon on the Corellian savanahs.![]()
I'd make a point to have at least one realtively low level pet to regrind back up when you decide you can't stand the pain of separation from your kids anymore. I'm just about at that point. Tossing poisons and diseases may be uber, but it's not the same as watching my rancor terrify stormtroopers who run away from him like little girls. I'm at 0/0/0/4 now, and I can still call the aggro critters I tamed, so my kusak stalker and savage humbaba can still help out, as can my dewback, my hilltop kima, and others. Wish I had kept a mottled wrix on the datapad to play with, though. My much beloved grinding wrix is sitting on a friend's datapad (he's not a CH) awaiting the day she can come home to daddy. ![]()

With how good buffs are now I find that I am not even calling my pets in groups cause they are not needed.
Such a sad situation for CH.
I have no defensive mods in my skillset, aside from whatever pistols 4 of marksman brings to the table.
With a full set of doc buffs, some synthsteak, and a set of ubese, I went out and tanked like mad for my own pet, and I have NO BRAWLING SKILLS at all last Sunday night on Endor. Pets were totally unnecessary where as 6 months ago they would have been REQUIRED to survive even one mission on Endor.
The game is seriously out of balance, and will remain so as long as the combat revamp is put on indefinite hold. Now, instead of CH pets doing the tanking, you've got players doing the tanking. I guess that's more 'Starwarsy'...all those people in ubese and composite tanking rancors. GMAFB.
Thanks for creating this post.
I was actually coming to ask the very same question ![]()
Low and behold on the very top there it is...
