Since launch I have posted nothing but seething threads about the CH Profession. While I still welcome the fact there are less CH pets running around. I just want to say that I tried your profession, and didn't realize how much fun it is... I will never know how easy it was to level with 2 pets, but, I took up CH just for the he11 of it and now, I'm having a great time.

Sorry, guess I should've just let things roll in the past and not whined so much.

and, NO i'm not a hologrinder.

Anyways, I just wanted to apologize.

It is appreciated.

Many of us were in this not for the combat power of pets (back in the day, yup, we were REQUIRED if anyone wanted to take on high end content) but because pets are fun. Once I'm done hologrinding, I intend to grind back up to MCH. It's just more fun than a barrel full of durnis. I love to watch my cats attack. I love to watch my dew run up to me like a gigantic puppy. I love my male mammien's trick one. I love to watch my rancor clap. The kima attack meow is wonderful.

Creature pets are lots of fun, and that's what the game is supposed to be about, right?

Nice to know you had the guts to appologize. For future reference, try playing the profession you supposedly hate so much before going off on mindless rants about it...

even though it's the "ch" forum, we frequently get anti-ch posts here,

so thanks for posting something positive.

(now if only we could get TH to play ch for a bit)

chIS fun -

(creatures are not just our weapons, they are our companions)

people who don't do it will never understand it's appeal

(they think of pets like armor - it's just not the same)

thanks again for starting this thread.

It takes a strong person to admit when they've been wrong and for that you got 5 stars from me. Personally, I started CH a few weeks after release but didn't get hardcore into and master it until (after I learned appreciation fot the class) around September. At first I guess I got into it for the wrong reasons after the factory xp nerf that turned crafting into the pure grinding, but I quickly fell in love with the profession. I still have screenshots of me and my Grand Wrix (Herb, the first decent pet I tamed) on some of our exploring. I like using my screenshots as wallpapers as it's nice to have the fond memories behind them laid out on the desktop while I'm working. As of late, many are calling some of us 'purist CHs' just because we enjoy taming our own pets, but is it wrong to raise and fight alongside a pet that we worked so hard to find, sneak up on, and tame?

If you haven't played CH, then you have no right to knock it and the same goes for any profession. Some of my funnest gametime has been taming creatures just for the heck of it, like fishing Catch and Release. On these boards you frequently see stories from CH's about their tames and the fun or exhileration they had in the process, or the 'big one that got away'. Is it any wonder we get so bent out of shape when our class is treated the way it has been with nerf after nerf?

I'm glad you've seen the light and were a good enough person to admit the error of your ways. Welcome to the class.

Too cool, Cat - wtg. 8)

When I started SWG, I had just left EQ where I played a Necromancer. "I will not play a pet class in SWG!", I said - not because the EQ Necro class was bad (it wasn't), but because I wanted a change. I limped along in Pistoleer/Scout/Medic/Artisan/Architect and found I was not haveing that much fun. I talked with a guildie who was MCH - and she talked me into trying CH. That was...a few months ago - I dumped Artisan/Architect and started CH. Right away, even with weaker pets, I started having fun again. I've been an MCH since December, picking up Master Pistoleer just after. With my Medic ability up to where I can make and use Stim C's, I'm doing fine. I have the flexibility to play when I want, pretty much where I wantPvE-wise, andI make a decent virtual living. I cracked open my first Holocron right after mastering CH and Pistoleer - it said "Pikeman". I laughed...and haven't bothered with Jedi since. I'm just fine where I am.

Thanks,

I've found that taming and hunting with my pets to be great fun. I was doing BE, and decided to try CH so I could use the pets I was cranking out for friends. Next thing you know, I'm hooked.
Its like your pet is your companion, and I've grown fond of them.

Oh well, thanks for not biting my head off.

And, NO I'm not going to dump my Imp faction :-)

While I do understand the sentiment you're expressing here, I kind of disagree. What we really need is for people to quit calling for nerfs on any profession in the first place.
