I've been gaining abilities really fast in the last couple days since I found this macro. Just wish I knew about it 3 weeks ago.hehe

group with 2 or 3 pets (up to cl 70)

click macro to send them on a rampage.

Killing creature lairs brings in abilities the quickest, but I found if I kill NPCs ( chunkers, binyares, etc...) I can loot and collect all those recycler parts I have been after

Here it is :

/ui action cycleTargetOutward;
/tellpet attack;
/pause 6;
/macro pet;

Happy Hunting

I've had excellent results using this macro around Mos Eisley. There's a few spots where 2 spawn clusters are close enough together so you can have non-stop killing*.

*Please note that the non-stop killing takes a few minutes to start. At first, you'll kill everything and have to wait a minute or two for a respawn but after about 10 minutes or so, the creatures will be spawning as fast as you're killing so then you've got the non-stop killing.

Anakin: Master, I think my lightsaber is getting dull. Its not doing nearly as much damage as it used to.
Obi-Wan: O.k. when we're done showing the youglings around the temple, we'll stop by the bazaar and you can buy a new crystal. I hope you've got a couple million credits saved up for this.
Anakin: WHAT?!!?? I don't have THAT kind of cash!
Obi-Wan: Well you could try sharpening it on these younglings. I've got a headache and all their questions are driving me NUTS!
Anakin: hmmm.... Sharpen my lightsaber on younglings...... hmmmmmm.....
Obi-Wan: uh, that was a joke Anakin. I'll spot you the cash for a new crystal THIS time, but next time you're on your own.

What I find helps out is if you befriend your pet to a level 1 and have that person group with your pet. Then it fights as a level 1 and gains better exp off the kills. I can get about 2 to 3 growth stages off a level 65 in about half an hour in Espa newbie zone just fighting the level 1-4's.

Wow, I have to say that this is ingenious!

I tried this very thing shortly after patch 21 went live and it didnt work. I had a pet group with a CL1 character then kill a CL1 MOB and the pet gained 1 XP. Maybe they broke/fixed something in the last publish?

Actually, when my pet is grouped with a level 1 toon, I get 1 xp of CH, but the pet get the appropriate xp for a level 1 pet attacking say a level 4 mob. Around 4500 xp for a level 69 pet.

I have tried this macro with a gaping spider so I can learn Bleed L2, my spider currently has probably around 800 to 900 kills, and I still have not learned the ability. Now ity only has about 57k xp, but I have learned abilities with less than 100 xp on a lvl 61 pet, and it was a lvl 3 ability.
