Preface:
Now, seeing as how the suggestion would be going through to the devs to allow all creatures clvl 70 and under to be tamable, i've been pondering a way to justify making faction-based animals tamable under this system without just cheesily plopping random faction babies around, as well as add a simple level of CH content.
Keep in mind that this is likely going to be dependant on the actual suggestion of making clvl 70 and under animals tamable going through. But there's the beauty of it. This suggestion is based on framework that's already in the game, it only needs a scripter or two to make the programming to bring it all together. If you use existing items and structure frames, it'll only take a light amount of work. Thus if we actually do manage to convince the devs to actually make the tamable changes, getting this implemented as an add-on will be a piece of cake. I've already suggested this to Vert with his approval, so i'm posting it here for review.
Affected Animals:
The following proposal will apply to the following animals, the list being just large enough to justify the entire idea:
tusken bantha
dim-u bantha
domestic eopie
domestic tusk cat
domestic bol mount
domesticated bearded jax
domesticated mott
nym's domesticated gurk
nym's kusak guardian
gungan veermok
mauler veermok(? is this a faction animal? just noticed based on mauler faction)
gungan falumpaset
gungan kaadu
gungan fambaa
tamed huurton
tamed razor cat
tamed slice hound
nightsister rancor
nightsister bull rancor
nightsister enraged rancor(yes, they're within tamable lvl)
singing mountain clan rancor
genetically-enhanced kahmurra(i believe this just borders into eligible, due to kahmurra bio lab. probably get the maps off of the bio-scientists in the poi)
dim-u bantha
domestic eopie
domestic tusk cat
domestic bol mount

nym's domesticated gurk
nym's kusak guardian
gungan veermok
mauler veermok(? is this a faction animal? just noticed based on mauler faction)

Proposal:
My proposal is to create a "creature training grounds map", where one could obtain a faction-based baby animal, varying based on what you looted it off of. You would loot this from faction npcs, and it would work similar to a treasure map, but instead would lead toguarded "training grounds", typically consisting of a small structure, and a fenced in area. Whereby would reside a (baby) of the related faction animal.
There will always be a random number of npc guards protecting the grounds, which you will be required to kill all of before you will gain access to the interior of the pen where the animals would be contained.
Upon killing them, you will be granted access to the interior of the pen upon unlocking the gate. There will always be 3 adults, and one (baby). If your faction is low enough, they will of course attack you outright. It will be the job of the CH to keep the baby alive if this happens.
Upon death of the baby or the taming of the baby, the grounds will automatically despawn, and that's it. If you fail, tough luck. Find another map. If you tame it, congratulations. your work is done until you want to pursue another.
I believeanother goodway to describe this is by example:
Let's say you've been killing tuskens one day. If you're lucky, you may randomly loot a treasure map-like disk. This disc would be entitled "Creature training grounds map - Tusken Bantha". Upon reading the disc, you will receive a waypoint(which will always be on whatever planet the related faction is based off of. in this case tatooine).
Upon reaching a relative distance to the waypoint(typically 90m in the case of missions currently in the game), a hidden location where tuskens train their banthas to be subservient to them is revealed. This will of course be in basic form of some sort of housing structure, and a medium-sized fenced in areain which3 Tusken Banthas and a Tusken Bantha (baby) will be roaming around.
There will be between 3 to 5 Tusken guards floating aroundoutside of it. Upon killing them all(required), you will be granted access to unlock the gate to the interior of the fenced area.
If you have low enough faction, the Tusken Banthas(including the baby) will attack outright. You will of course either have to run until they break, or kill the adults while paying mind to not kill the baby, and run until the baby breaks aggro. If you manage to do this, you will have the opportunity to scent mask and float up to the baby and attempt a tame.
Again, if the baby dies, tough luck. Try again with another map. If you succeed, good work. You now are the proud owner of a Tusken Bantha (baby). In either scenario, the facility will despawn, and your work is done.
Conclusion:
Well, that's it. If anyone has any ideas on how this could be improved while at the same time maintaining feasibility, feel free to post them here.

Sounds like an awesome idea to actually add some CH content...

To get a map to do this, you need to kill the specific faction to get the map, which lowers your faction, which makes it almost impossible to make it through the adults to get to the baby without them argo'ing you, or am I reading it wrong?

in certain cases there's no related faction(i.e. dim-u banthas), but in cases where it does apply, yes. the animals already aggro based on faction, even if they're not normally aggressive types.tusken banthas being a prime example.
but then, that will add to the challenge. especially for people who like to feel as though they've actually earned their baby.
besides, easy ways around it in cases of animals that are non-aggressive. just run until they break, or buy a map off someone who doesn't really care about it, or get a friend to do the killing for you.
especially considering the fact that even if this idea wasn't implemented, and faction animals were just randomly dropped in like normal babies, you'd STILL be losing faction from trying to kill adults to get a baby to spawn, that insuch case you'd be aggro'd anyway. so this isn't really all that much of an issue when you think about it.

hmm, i would just be happy with CL100, pvp damage reduction, and all babies under cl 70 having a chance to spawn. But optimistically, the other ideas that come up on this forum are very very good.
Good Job Digi. I want some rare pets lol, Mantrigue Screecher is a pain to find lol.

I like it as a way to add content to the CH taming game. You would have to be very careful with balancing the map drop rates, though. Too common and the creatures cease to be "rares." Too uncommon, and people will start to get frustrated and bored farming the NPCs.

Yeah, if these rares were worth being rare, I would agree Vert. But if they implimented it as rares currently are, it would be just more frustration for several of us...

2 words, mask scent. no really, they ARE still creatures, right? riiiiiight? anyway, also keep in mind if the baby gets close enough and you start taming it, it cant start attacking you, in which time you can happily pound away at his mommy and daddy, who really would of just let some mean ol TKA grinder come by and kill it no dought
. but it really sounds like a cool idea to me.

This would bring a new challenge to ch as finding these new tamable creatures and encourage creature handlers to attack npc characters.
I would like to see something added where many of these creatures would be mountable such as the nightsister rancor. This would give creature handlers and added incentive to hunt for these creatures as not only would they be rare but have that extra added value.
I would also like to see this as a random rare spawn that could appear without looting a treasure map. Or make a quest where u get to talk to a non aggressive npc first and given a series of challenges to fulfill before getting the map. This would be comparable to the Corellian Corvette quest and since many ch in BEAST wanted quests to be considered to my petition this would be the perfect solution.
I think the baby should be inside a small concealed area inside the main area because if the creature aggros on u then all will aggro including the baby. By keeping the baby in a seperate cage with a key you would have to loot from one of the npc outside you would just have to worry about the adults without killing the baby. If the baby was roaming free with the adults I dont see how it would be possible to tame and would really frustrate creature handlers.
Also I would hope creature handlers would have creature structures such as stables at this point so will be able to store pets instead of deleting them.

As i said, something within the realm of feasibility.
That may be a cute idea, but you'd have to do it for each creature type, and given dev logic, you'd only be able to do it once. There is also the matter of programming an npc for each, which the devs likely wouldn't do all at once. We'd have to put up with installments that would only be added every once in a while. Easier this was as the programmers would only need to program the basic script workfor one, and do a simple copy/paste job for the rest, with the necessary alterations for each. We'd never get it if we asked for seperate npcs for each faction animal, while keeping a sense of originality with each quest(as quite obviously doing the same quests over and over just to get a different animal at the end would be quite intolerable).
Remember,i'm tryingto come up with an idea that the devs would actually be willing to implement without having to "wait for the revamp" first.

THAT is a better idea. Possibly in that you can only unlock thegate to the baby once all adults and guardshave been "dealt with".

A great idea. I agree with Vert that balancing is very important. I would like to see this type of quest map be easier to loot than finding some rares currently is.

Great idea
no reason why its not eassily implementable. Simple yet fun.
Suggestion for this:
Perhaps make a multiple planet or sectors in the same planet locations that must be visited in order to gain the parts requiered. As Milteck said like the how we obtain parts for the covette tiket.
EX: Tusken Bantha. Go to fort tusken find the tusken trainer. ...Right where the bantha pens are
He tells you i need 3 things and ill send u to there training ground. go to the tuskens enemy Akira bandit place, get a tusken bantha treat from a locked container... Second , find the sennex cave search there for a tusken bantha doll.... third find the squill cave..in there search the brambles (like the hero quest) and get the bantha statue. You go back to him, noticed lots of fighting involed and much xp for the novice ch as a bonus. Might need a grp to even help him out, thus Group involvement.
Once you bring the parts back he gives you the wp to the holden pen, you, go, trash the tusken, get parents outta the way, free baby from his cage and tame him
A great fun adventure, no frustraion execept normal combat, and no wishing the right npc would drop the map or disk. We all know how bad the loots can be screwed up. Look at the lootkit drop rates...even fixed the still didnt apply to all componants...
And for rare animals. well of course the higher the level of special best the higher your level must be. In other words it would be useless for a mid level ch to even try to do the nightsister bull rancor quest until he was master with taming cloths. Thus making him learn the fun of talking to his tailor
Imagine the fun quest would be for a bull., Go to the mutant rancor cave, get a rancor tooth, bring back like ...10k of rancor meat, and last part some rancor bile.
Rare, the whole concept is borderline fun nobody ever thought rare meant million dollar lottery odds.... Give MCH and ch fun back, the trill of taming back
