Unless you want to look cool or roleplay, there is pretty much no reason to waste time/money/space on a mount.

I dissagree... im not gonna pull my swoop out and drive for 400m then store it... thats a waste of money. If your a CH the dewback family (mountain or cannible if u can findem) are great. Giant Spats must stay under their max size when mounted... Bol may be the best cause they can probably be full grown. I would say get a Bol. If your not a CH a Carrion Spat or Lesser Bol will go well.

i have a couple of mount that i use. i have a savage humbaba, the largest mount that you can get. i also have a dewback and a brackaset. it depends on what i am doing. i keep the dewback around because it we my first mount. and i just like the other 2. i have a bull bantha also in my datapad for the up coming patch and i will be looking for a cupa just to see how these guys are. what i heard was that for burst speeds the birds are faster but the run out of gas quickly and the 4 bracks and there relatives are slower but last longer in burst speeds. im not sure about the dewbacks and bols. for me they just plod along.

Male brack's come in at CL30, Females at CL29. These are the biggest mounts unless you go for a BE one. The savage Hum is CL24?

The brackaset is the highest CL mount but the savage humbaba is the tallest.

All mounts are the same speed at a normal run. At a gallop there are 3 different speeds.

The birdshave the fastest gallop but the shortest duration. The brackaset / humbaba have the slowest gallop but the longest duration. The dewback / bol are in the middle for both.

Kaadu is the way to go. The duration of the burst run may be lower, but it is much longer than a player's and will get you anywhere that you need to go that is not worth pulling out a vehicle. I can go out of town over 1000 meters with my kaadu with no problem at a dead run, get there pretty fast, and not feel I've wasted any time.

I just deleted my kaadu to make room for a mantrigue screecher, but as soon as I'm able to sell off some pets, I'll pick up another one. (anyone want to buy a couple of each of the following: TMB orarachne warrior?

As for the lack of value of pet mounts, they have been handy for me because I can step into any public house and pull one out to ride if my swoop has auto-stored on me. Of course, the next patch will do away with camp requirements, so it may not matter any more.

I currently prefer the kaadu for two reasons:

1. It doesn't run so much when attacking - the dewbacks run away a lot;

2. Its head motion when mounted is easier to take. The bol and dewback both have an up-and-down motion that really bothers my eyes. The kaadu head is less in my field of vision, easier to take.

I don't own a spat. Got run down by too many of em when I was a noob. And they (IMHO) are ugly.

In my oppinion it's up to your personal likes and dislikes.

I for one would never have or use a Kaduu or Carrion Spat, i can't stand the sounds they make, i tamed a Spat some time ago, but released it before i was finished training it, because i couldn't stand it.

So now i just use my lesser plains bol from the pre-ch days, he is trustworthy and not afraid of taking on a frenzied graul if i get hurt, he can hold it for enough time, so i can run and set up camp and call a couple of Graul and send them in to save him. only once have he been incapped.

I levelled fencer using my trusty kaadu mount, best thing is they never run off in combat until they are down to their last hp's. Thats when i was attacking everything in the nest and one wandered off to attack my mount

It depends on what you mean by 'best', but I'd have to say, CL for CL, the best deal is the giant carrion spat, which has a 2000+ HAM at CL 7. Compare this to a lesser dew with a HAM of 900 and a CL of 9, and you see why it's a bargain.

The savage humbaba is CL 24, and thus has a lower HAM than the male brackaset at CL 30, but the savage humbaba is the tallest mount in the game.

I love my Male Brackaset , Opel, as a mount. He is cl 30 9700 hams and 300 dmg with 30% resists. Very nice to ride to a mission and tell my mount to go tank for me. He is also the right speed so that the rest of my pets can follow as I ride. It's all up to the player I'm sure, but for short distance (2k mor less) mission runs, old Opel is hard to beat and they are plentiful all over Dath.

I've owned a Kaduu, Giant Carrion Spat (The Walking Buzzard), a Dewback, a Male Brackaset, and a Bol. Only the Brackaset is left. Feels funny riding Dafy Duck (Kaduu). Can't handle the noises the Buzzard, the Dewback and the Bol made.

I kind of like the look of the Brackaset (camel) and its height. And it does not make an irritating noise every 2 seconds. I just wish the DEVs would fix the look when the darn thing is on a slope.
