Thread: Wow there was a hot fix today....

My first thought was that something might happen to the CH bugs but weee I was wrong.. again..

They called it a hotfix but they fixed absolutely nothing of the things that really matters.I cant find any words on how mad I am right now. SOE dont care a thing about its customers and force us to pay a monthly fee to be a beta tester!

What shall we do to make them really listen to what we have to say and fix expecially that CH cap thingy? And personally I dont think it classifies as a bug, I think its a major screw-up. Ok I know, bugs can happen and we will find them everywhere but the thing that annoys me the most is that SOE does absolutely nothing to fix it!

I have been very patient but now its clear that SOE have zero customer service.

I hope this post doesnt get deleted because I really want SOE to read and actually fix that you can play the creature handler profession.

So get your butts of Kashyyyk for a moment and fix some major bugs instead.

Its been three weeks now or what??

I hate to break it to you butthe bugs in CH are probably lower priority than most. For example: finding a compormise toallow Jedi to actually level up without vising themselves into next weekm Restoring lost skills (this is STILL the main effort atm as far as I can see due to the huge backlog of requests along with dealing with the fake requests), continued balancing of creatures for combat to name just 3 things off the top of my head.

CH is in fact far more usable since the CU as creatures actually do half decent damage against similar level mobs now and you can solo with it. Agreed it helps if you were already CH before theCU and had a few higher level pets to help you along but iIf you think CH is broken try respecing to BE for 12 hours while you have time left

I'm not belittleing your problems with CH I have those exact same problems as Im CH/BE and MCH/MRM on two of my toons. CH/MRM is overkill now as you out damage your pets and take the heat yourself and on level 80 lairs your pets get totally eaten and are not much use but it complements Bio Engineer superbly and at level 57 I can easily solo lairs between levels 55 and 60, Before the CU that toon was simply a crafter and a mission level booster, now she's a viable charater to play. So in my experience CH is now much more enjoyable depending on your exact template.

If you read the issues thread Im sure you will find most of the problems you are experiencing are in there, you can add your voice to the choir there. Also you'll see a few tweaks that the player base are pushing for like allowing use of higher level pets (up to 80? ) that in my opinion is a must for CH now.

Good hunting

[edit]

at least my pets havent been disappearing in combat since the CU, now that was my prime gripe before the CU

tip - adjust your BE pet's stats for level rather than level for stats if youve not already found that (that tip is to anyone not just the thread starter)

Tsumi

As far as working professions go you are correct.

The fix most of the newer players (CH) are frustrated with is an xp cap after they achieve novice.

They cap out here at 20k xp and are unable to advance to a tier one box. For them there is no advancement and hasn't been for 3 weeks, They are new players or characters created after the CU and cannot respec to jump beyond the cap. The scouts/rangers had the same problem and it was fixed long ago.

Its not a matter of the profession having a low priority and is still playable. For then it is game breaking in that they cannot play at all beyond novice CH.

It's not a huge fix considering that it was fixed in other professions, they are simply being overlooked because no one seems to care about a couple of dozen new players.

Much as SOE didn't care about losing 50% of the veterans, they repeat the ignorant mistakes of the past and ignore the brand new players too.

Well, as we have all learned, the Devs were on vacation and were not minding the store all last week. Nice!

As for the CH bugs and the bugs in general. We all should be pissed off at this point.

They have been planing this for 6 months. They decided it didn't need Alpha Testing, nor did it need closed and controlled Beta Testing. It was generally Beta Tested in theory 3 weeks, but I played the TC the whole time and in all honesty, the CU released Life was only on the TC for about 4 days. The first week a totally different CU was on the TC, and overall a much better one to boot.

This game has gotten more buggy and worse every week. The CU is inferior coding and programming as compared to the pre-CU game. Major game breaking bugs like the CH XP should have NEVER gotten live, repeat NEVER gotten live on a piece of programing that has undergone In Theory about 4 months of coding. At this point, Sony and Lucas Arts have broken this game, and for no reason. They have provided substandard service and a substandard product.

They did not have to go Live, they chose to. Now, I want it fixed. They broke it, they should fix it.

Yep and the longer the wait to fix it the more new CH's are going to gte PO'd and start dropping the proff.

A huge shame if that happens.

They didn't think about us at all when they broke these systems, and they're not thinking about us at all as they yawn, scratch themselves, read up on the latest vital news on Page 3 of The Sun, and decide which Jedi bug to fix next.

Don't hold your breath waiting for CH "fixes", we waited for two years and the C.U. was what we got.

I sympathize with how hard it is for Jedi's, but at least they can level... Try sitting at 20k exp for 3 weeks and see how "low priority" it feels.

Exactly!! I don't even lately 'cuz I can't get any more CH xp so as to level up =( I mean sure, there are bugs, sure there are people whining they lost armor and lost skills.. But they will be dealt with. There isn't a huge time thing with them, I mean they can keep playing still. We CHs can't even level! there's no point to even playing CH. And being my character is new and I don't have points towards respec saved up I don't feel like grinding some other profession just to try it while I wait for the one profession I wanted to play again.

/agreed. It took me nearly a year before I realized that the Devs were really not listening to the CH community and that I was paying to play beta. But I have come to grips with the reality, stopped focussing on all of the lost potential, and enjoyed the game for what it is. As Tsumi briefly mentioned, there was a time where CH was, literally, unplayable. Pets would eithervanish or take off running in the middle of battle...got me killed several times. This ticked me off so much that I leftthe game for several months waiting for the CU. I'm back and at least my professions are playable now. Anyway, now that George Lucus is done with the prequels maybe SOE can be finished with this prequel, SWG - The Phantom Menance and move onto SWG2 - A New Hope.

Well I converted my pets (higher levelled ones to keep level and adjust stats and vice versa, only 1 failure in there... got myself a level 212 pet which was prior a level 49....)

But: they are ALL completely and utterly useless (even the normal tamed ones).

a) attack command and response !

b) no attacks

or

a)protect command and response !
b) no protection given (no autoattack)

Hence as MRanger/MCH I'm totally crippled. My puny marksman 4--4 skills will not help me much defeating the higher content if my pets cannot help me. And grouping... don't get me started on that one pls...

Respeccing: don't want to. I choose to become this combination because I love it. I'd rather quit then give it up.
