I have a Master CH alt , that I /resp too .

So I'm pretty clueless regarding Pets.

I have only one purpose for this toon and its to help me level my Padawan solo ...using the befriend command.

I would just like to know What is the very best all around Pet / Great tank and deals nice damage ( this is strictly for PVE)

I have a Huge amount of credits and can afford the best ... but what would it be ? like a level 70 BE rancor ? or maybe some relay old nerfed pet ? or something thats currently only tamable ?

I relay appreciate the Help I get here , I know there are so many aspects to this game , We all have our specialty ... mines just not CH but I do defiantly offer help to anyone when it somes to my specialty.

Thanks

1. Always read the stickies.

2. If you intend to make a post about buying a pet post it in your galaxy trade fourms.

3. Since all pets are generic now any CL70 pet (reguardless of type) will be best.

4. As far as prenerfs go........Since the CU conversion process was ugly for CHs at best you will be extremely had pressed to find an uber converted pet, In fact I very seriousy doubt one exists.

My, such bitterness, Joker! Tsk-tsk...

I'd say the best pets right now are the elite tameables. They're the ones with the level circlesthat bear theslash mark cutting into the circle denoting the fact that they haveunusually strong statistics for their level. Bioengineers are still sorting out their new crafting parameters from what I can tell -- if they're even still BEs after all the jerking around of their products by the devs. So money definitely can't buy you an uberpet-in-a-can at this point.

As for the elite tameables, you probably won't be able to buy these at any price. At least, not yet. The few Creature Handlers that are still actively pursuing our profession seem to be pretty much going after these for themselves. The non-lair spawns that often seem to be the domain of these elite creatures are currently broken and only spawn one round of creatures per occurrence, and some such creatures aren't even known for sure if they show up with lairs at all!

That said, if you are determined to obtain the best pet for your Jedi friend/alt, I'd say head to Endor and look for a baby Blurrg Raptor. That's a level-50 elite tameable. Find and tame one of those babies, and you'llalmost deserve to use it.

Well, they're not all generic, some made it through the conversion... special. I would still say it can't hurt to post on your galaxy trade post and maybe tell anyone with a special pet to pm you, since they probly don't want to post their pet stats here. If I told you how strong my gurreck was..., well I'm just saying it can't hurt to post this on your own trade forum.

Level 66 Kwis are not bad either... the ranged spit (which they use at random but on a semi-reliable frequency) can help with single-pulling if that is what you are after.

Being a Jedi and also Creature Handler, i'd like to add this.

If your going to use a pet and solo grind your going to take forever.

Not only is solo grinding jedi the slowest thing possible but doing it with a pet will make it worse not better. You will have to share the xp you earn with your pet.

When i grind CH and also shoot the creature that i'm targeting the xp is split depending on damage dealt.

ie. if my pet does 60% of the damage and i do the other 40%. I'll get 600xpweapons xp 60 combatand 900 creature handler xp. If i leave the pet kill the creature on it's own i'll have 1500 creature handler xp.

You would be far better off group grinding your jedi and leaving your pet at home. When grinding Jedi in a group i could get 100k in1 hour xp. if you are group grinding, don't learn new jedi skills and try and keep your CL at 80 with normal skills for higher xp.

I say don't learn new jedi skills because if a BH gets you, you will lose 2k xp for every skill point you have. If your group grinding you only need to be able to heal yourself and hit the creature once to gain full xp.

Good luck with whatever option you choose, it's a hard grind either way

Do I have to repeat myself? CH is Dead. Pointless, probably won't help you much with leveling. Most likly you will grow attached to your pets, they will get owned, you will run in to save them and you will bite the dust as well. No specials to help, no tanking and no calling for help thanks to the hate system. All your pet does now is put on a show to see how fast it can get pizowned. The extra 150 damage a couple times before it stops attacking isn't bad though..

Actually, the ratios are even wilder that this.

I started out with my training saber and a level-69 Reptilian Flyer to tank for me. As a Master Bounty Hunter/Master Creature Handler, I was pulling level-78 to -82 lair missions on the terminals. As a result, with my weak little saber going, I would do a max of like 60 points of damage next to my bird's 80-380 or whatever it is. I'd get perhaps 65 Jedi XP per kill and something on the lines of 4500 CH XP. However, now that the devs restored the XP gain for killing off the lair itself, it did have a nice payoff: 770 Jedi XP for using my lightsaber exclusively to kill the lair!

I joked with my guildmates about how I was thinking about how I really should just kill of the creatures as quickly as possible just using conventional weapons, then go for the XP for the lairs with my saber. They chuckled and replied, "Good idea...."

At any rate, I muddled through and have now filled all five Novice boxes. But I also made an interesting discovery this morning: Old news to more established Jedi, but I was quite pleased for discovering it... Lightsaber certifications (1st-4th-generation sabers) are not tied to one's Jedi or Lightsaber level, but one's general Combat Level. So, as a level-80 dual combat master, I could have been using 4th-gen sabers all along! ("Dohhh....!") So, now I've packed all my best pearls and crystals into one 4th-gen saber, and I'm tinkering around with that. I actually killeda missioncritter without help from any of my pets for the first time tonight. But my missions' difficulty levels have now dropped to around CL-68 to 72 as I've begun to sacrifice Creature Handler skill points for the Jedi grind. The Jedi XP for the solo kill weighed in at a cool 770 points, whereas whenever I'd used my pets this time around with my 4th-gen saber I would wind up with about 300-350 Jedi XP and about 3000 or so CH XP. That difference will eventually converge as my conventtional skills go away and my Jedi skills grow. But for now, it seems to be working okay, albeit slowly.

The best pets to use are probably 3 female narglatches. The best tank you will find is a CL70 BE pet with a high agro. bonus.
