Thread: Anyone else unhappy with the new patch?

Hiya all

I have been a CH for a long time now

I have always loved it but after CU changes were made and it has gone from bad to worse.

I am also a Master BE on my character and the lvl is only 58 which is annoying

Especially as my doc/cm character is lvl 80.

Today I was asked to mount two full grown cupa's and couldn't do it, as no option to mount the pets.

Like many others i keep a spare kaadu in my data pad to help out new players when I can.

A basic requirement that could get a new player out of difficulties or around the planets.

I really feel like dropping CH even tho I love the proffession so much

Anyone else feel the same?

No. It's not any harder, it's just different. Frankly I love the new system. Just go trade those Kaadus in some quick combat. Level 10 wont take long to max out. Once fully mature they should be mountable.

Kettemoor: URoRRuR'R'R - Tusken King

It was bad enough whenever the devs screwed up BE mounts making only 2 pets mountable by non-creature handlers.
I've always tried to keep a couple of non-ch mounts as well. But to do that now means we have to 'mature' the creatures before they'll get any bigger which not many people are going to do for a give-away-to-a-newbie mount.

Anakin: Master, I think my lightsaber is getting dull. Its not doing nearly as much damage as it used to.
Obi-Wan: O.k. when we're done showing the youglings around the temple, we'll stop by the bazaar and you can buy a new crystal. I hope you've got a couple million credits saved up for this.
Anakin: WHAT?!!?? I don't have THAT kind of cash!
Obi-Wan: Well you could try sharpening it on these younglings. I've got a headache and all their questions are driving me NUTS!
Anakin: hmmm.... Sharpen my lightsaber on younglings...... hmmmmmm.....
Obi-Wan: uh, that was a joke Anakin. I'll spot you the cash for a new crystal THIS time, but next time you're on your own.

It should be I agree but its not, I was hoping they may fix it in a patch but as of yet no joy.

I have put in reports about it but nothing is said or done.

Not eveyone enjoys posting on the forums, and do so when the need arises just because you do not see my posts does not mean to say I do not play the game and do not have the right to post.

The proffessions I cover if that were the case I would always be posting and frankly I have not got the time.

I am Master Artisan/Master Tailor/Master Architect/Master BE/Master CH/Master AS/Master DE/Master Chef/Master Doc and Master CM. Aswell as a GM.

All on 1 server providing an all round service.

I apologize for what I said.

BE is a crafter. You get armor mods only because you explore and put yourselves at risk for DNA. What you should really be asking is why the armor mods are for energy and not kinetic, which isthe type ofdamage mostanimals dish out.

Saying a master BE/ master CH should be level 80 is like saying a master dancer/ master CH should be level 80. Neither are combat.

As far as deciding what animal to get rid of, everyone has to make this choice for themselves. You only need to free up one slot. You don't need 20 extra slots. You are going to tame a wild critter using your one free slot. If that critter has an inate ability you are going to use the critter in combat until you learn the skill. You are then going to dismiss the critter back into the wild (with a smile and a "thanks for the help") and tame a new critter using the freed up slot. If the critter does not have an ability, you free it back into the wild immediately and tame another.

It isn't so much the taming and using. Realistically we've been doing this all along. I remember not so long ago when people were complaining that the tame command had no real use since BE pets can just be purchased and were more useful. Well you got your wish. The tame command is very useful. In fact without the tame command you cannot become a viable CH.

Like I said, the new system of abilities isn't bad. It works very well in WoW. It is the simple fact that the way pets don't follow commands, become single minded killing machines in combat that refuse to follow commands, slow down during combat if they are mounted even though it serves no function, these things are what will eventually deter people from sticking with CH. These dynamics have always been the deterant from sticking with CH. These dynamics are still in place. They have not been fixed.

You've been given a shiny new car with new features. Unfortunately the car still only goes in one direction without a steering wheel. Until this is fixed, the car is only useful if you want to go in a straight line.

I don't like whiners or trolls, but this guy is neither. He's just giving his opinion and an illustration of why he is unhappy. He isn't making crazy demands or hollering outrage. And as he said, he is a master CH. I wish more unhappy people would take his tone.

Wow, that is a rarity. Epsilon125 is officialy a cool guy.

Now what I would realy like to see is a dev post...

"We realize that the number of bugs in SWG has had a negative impact on the enjoyment of the game. We are sorry for the inconvinence and will endevor to imporve the quality of your game experience as best we can. Thank you for your kind patience." (like that except with spell checking)

I am really looking forward to getting some new pets and tracking down these new specials. I will be forced to release some pets, but the choice is easier. My 3 Narglatchs have been around for the shortest time. They helped greatly after the CU but I have had my other pets far longer.

It is different, that's all. You purchase BE CL10 animals or you tame them from the wild. That hasn't changed. The difference is that instead of the animals sitting in your datapad for 3 or 4 days growing, you must use the animals in combat to mature them. For a non-CH animal, you'll mature your animals much faster than 3 or 4 days. You'll actually be able to sell more mounts at a faster pace.

If you learn some of the basic L1 abilities from other wild animals, by the time your CL10 animal is mature you should be able to teach it an ability or two. This only adds to the value of the mount.

I'm not sure why anyone would be unhappy about this sort of set up.

I'm happy with the changes, in theory. They work very well in WoW and are a lot of fun. The broken pet AI makes the use of animals in combat very frustrating for me, even with special abilities. I can't see me grinding out an entire datapad of pets using a broken AI.

Changes are good. Fixing existing bugs are better. Doing both is perfect. SWG is far from perfect at this point.

Well for anyone who uses mount sales as a source of income, these changes are good.

But for those of us who would tame a non-ch mount when we came across one just so we could give it to a newbie or someone in need... Well I guess thats finished.

If you are MCH and MBE you would be CL 80. You stated you are CL 58.

If you love the profession so much, and are MCH, why is this your very first postto the CH forums? That seems *strange*.

If I'm wrong then Iapologize.
