Having been an old CH from like 2nd week. Then I switched servers and never went back to ch.
I'm curious what are people teaming up CH with and why, I used to be a CH/Riflemen.

I have one of the more popular non-combat combos (MCH/MBE/Ranger 0-0-3-0).
BE/CH is pretty obvious why - the ranger tracking skills give me a big boost to finding and sneaking up on critters for sampling/taming.
I'm not so hot at combat though - my main disadvantage is that it takes ages to take down a lair rather than not being able to take down the higher lairs at all. I can still take down Rancor lairs, although it does take me 30-45 minutes.

YAh I'm thinking Master CH, Master BE, and PIstoleer 0/0/3/1
I was curious tho, how do you handle agros on high end creatures (like kimos, etc) with no fighting skills?

I really Liked Carbiner (hehehe MCH/MCarb.... Can you think of a more borked Combo hehehe) But I tell ya.. I had alot of fun with a pet that could dizzy and the Carbine KD....(I also loved the Charge shot animation)

Tell me about it, right now I'm 2/3/2/3 CH and 4/3/0/3 Carbineer borked as hadies, but fun none the less. I stand back with my carbine and have my little Savage Quenker, Hegh standing right next to me both firing into the mess of critters that everyone else is attacking.

I must really be doing something wrong I'm master rifleman and can't take a kimo alone.

I can say a master bh is a wonderful template to add to ch. You got all of master marksman. In bh you get a scatter pistol that can burn and blind. You get some good carbne shots. If you get master you got the spray shot. Add that on a creature knockdown, and your a pinning master. Since the spray can contiumally apply dizzy at nauseum. Then you got the llc very respectible when a pet gets a creature locked in a location. You can tag out to 45 meters and just hit away.
You get all the states attack when you combine them up. Intimidation stun blind dizzy bleeding burning diseased poisoned postured down posture knocked down. You get a huge selection of weapons. Your even able to chose a weapon that bests fits a situation. Very nice combination.

Well to start with the highest level lairs I can solo are the mid-high creatures: Rancors,BMB's,Mereks etc (up to about CL 60 or so)- as a non-combatant I don't expect to be able to solo Krayt's Kimo's and the like.
There areseveral answers to your question - the first of which someone already supplied: "Run". This might be rephrased as "If things go pear-shaped, don't be afraid to bug-out".
I actually use a bunch of tricks to stay alive:
Call 2 pets - the weaker has "guard duty" and I don't order it in to attack unless it's a sure thing. I go unarmed and the guard-pet will immediately attack if I get aggro - 90% of the time the pet gets the aggro and it's actually not too difficult to scrape aggroed MoBs off on pets, other creatures etc. (I generally use a Toxic Merek Battlelord(45) for attack and a Crystal Snake(25) on defence).
Give each pet its own command set - this really helps with............
Crowd control - take them one at a time. Once the attack pet has aggro you can herd the MoB around using follow and attack commands.
Check terrain, check the locations of other lairs in the vicinity, use traps, select the paired MoBs carefully, wear good armour, continuously heal pets during combat, feed them sweesonberry rolls, etc, etc
Suffice to say, hunting when unarmed (except for the pets) is a far more interesting experince than just wading in and hammering everything.

Wow.
Did you level up CH this way too, or did you use a weapon proficiency just to help you through a bit quicker?
I've heard so many people telling me that 'pure' CH just kills stuff too slowly...

I have an alt that plans on Master CH/BE with pistoleer 0 0 4 0
I also have an alt that, thanks to a great spawn of wooly hide, I made the prerequisite for CH before I made commando. But nothing beatsriding around on a mount oneshotting all the trash around Corellia with a flamethrower for anywhere between 106 - 293 Hvy Weapons XP. Im flying up the Flamethrower tree and Ive never been buffed! I can get several thousand just riding to a destroy mission about 2K out of town.
The great thing is that Im getting people interested in mounts. Some never knew you can shoot from a mount! They keep asking me if I have extra mounts.
Any CH's with mounts out there, try to be more visible!
