I have noticed this a few times on Test Center during Publish 10 testing, but I can't reproduce it consistently. I seem to recall this happening before randomly, but the pet would actually be autostoring (at an inappropriate time usually!). In this case as Unskilled1 states, the pet leaves the group and visibly disappears, but for some reason it needs to be stored before being recalled. It's pretty wierd.
Also (and possibly related), I've noticed that if I'm out alone with a pet grouped with me and I die, when I clone, the server auto ungroups me from my pet yet I still have to store it.

I haven't seen this myself although not everything you fight will be affected by the special on the first try (just like players). I suspect you've already considered that though. My pets with specials seem to work pretty well.

For me on Test Center, I hate to say anywhere is "crowded". I suspect server boundaries are involved, however. On a side note, it might be nice to be able to toggle a visible server boundary indicator on the client so we can help report these issues more decisively.
On the two times I can think of recently that this happened to me, I was doing missions out of Skystone, Tatooine (on TC) and it happened during combat. One time I even had two pets out -- one disbanded from the group and visibly disappeared and about 30 seconds later (still in combat), the other did the same. I was probably straddling a server boundary or something like that.
I have *only* noticed this while in combat (which makes things interesting) although it has been pretty rare for me overall. I'd say once every couple of weeks.
I suspect there are a lot of gotches involved that make this difficult to impossible to reproduce. I don't know how many others are having these issues, but if enough notice it to where it's more than just a random annoyance, maybe the Devs can enable some more logging and/or give us a special command in game to mark in the logs for the Devs to look at whenever we see this problem (the command could mark your location, pets the server thinks are out, the location of your pets, etc. for the Devs to look at later). With the pets not seeming to have actually stored, I am curious where they actually go (maybe 0,0?).

The server boundary issues have always been kind of an ongoing challenge (where characters get handed off from one server to another, so you and your pet might be on different servers). The new spin on this would seem to be the need to choose "Store" from the datapad before you can call the pet again. Not sure what that means (is the pet really stored, invisible, or in limbo?) I've passed this along to the Devs.

My problem was the same as highlighted by Unskilled; ie pet vanishes and removes from group (but still needs to be manually stored).
This typically has happened during the heat of battle out in the wilderness (uncrowded areas), I haven't been fighting around cities recently. I've only experienced this since Pub. 10 too.

I had this happen to me twice today on Tatooine. First time I was out in "boonies" looking for the moisture farmer for Hermit Quest and using 2 pets - boar wolf ravagers - to clear out kreetles. Second time I was in cave where you go to rescue the farmer's family. Again, 2 boar wolf ravagers and they were fighting whatever those NPCs are. In both instances, my pets simply disappeared. They didn't auto-store, because I had to store them and re-call them. I have had this happen on very rare occasions in the past, though. But never twice in one day like that, I don't think.
(BTW, have to brag, finished Hermit Quest, woohoo!)
P.S. Pets were not grouped.

Yup, had it happen a few times now, one was definitly a border issue as the mottled wrix spawns I was clearing also got themselves stuck, they had the full run animation but where staying in the same spot

Hmm, that is pretty strange. With the auto-storing yet still needs to be Stored issue, does this seem to happen in any particular place (like a crowded city or the edge of a server boundary)? Does this only happen in combat, or are you noticing it outside of combat too? How often would you say this is happening (once an hour, once every few hours, once every few days, etc)?
With the poison not appearing to do damage... what opponent(s) have you noticed this with? The recent DOT changes affect all DOTs (not just the Combat Medic ones), so creatures always have at least a 5% chance to resist a DOT (probably scaling up in the case of very high end enemies).

I think he means that the pet doesn't use the poison special on command, which is already documented in your issue list.

I have been seeing this too. I do not group my pets but they just vanish. I have had this happen only in combat and the pet just poofs, it does not run off or anything. One minute it is there then gone. It also is gone from the radar. I even check with the radar at the highest setting and no white dot. I check the data pad and it has the store option on the pet. I tried to call another pet and got the your CL exceeded message. It appears to be random and I can not reproduce it on demand.

Ï have had this happen when I have called a pet and as soon as it comes out it vanish. Somehow it still needs to be stored. It has also happened in combat and in several other instances. Seems a variation of the vanish bug where the pet disappears and is in datapad.
