Thread: How do you deal with people who hate CH in duels???
your using the skills you have avalible they shouldnt get mad at that...though i havent noticed to much on my server considering theres only like 3 CHs i know of hwo active dule/PvP
Just give em a /rude desture and ignore them.
People that think that way aren't worth losing any sleep over.
You might ask them what proffs tehy are and then ask them if they would like to be handicapped in the next duel and limited to only using skills from ONE proff they have. (i.e. a Master Rifle/ Master BH could not use any BH attacks etc.) See how they like that.
our pets are part time our weapons, its like saying a BH that can't use his armor or guns and is going after a jedi
I rarely duel, but on the few occasions when I have and I was asked not to use pets I replied to the Rifleman/Fencer/pistoleer or whatever, I would be happy not to use my pets if you wont use your Rifle/Sword/Pistol or whatever.
A weapon is a weapon no matter if its black and shiny or big an furry.
My weapon just happens to be my friend as well.
I dueled a MR/Mdoc with my narglatch trio. I am only MCM/MCH. The three pets alone were seriously taxing his health. I threw on some fire and poison and pistol, throwing in some heals for good measure. He didnt even know where to begin. First he hit my pets, then he hit me, then the pets, then me, then he just went down. Granted I could tell he wasnt all that adept at dueling, but it wasnt even a challenge. I dueled him again with just the three pets (not attacks from me) and it took him about 5 minutes to get through all three including healing. Then he asked me not to heal them, then just two pets, then just one. He wasnt doing well all around, even though won all the subsequent duels.
When people ask me to duel and I start pulling out my pets, I get a lot of groans, but I just tell them, hey all I have is MCM and MCH so it really isnt fair, healing, DoTS, and pets are my only weapons.
Ignore them.
Or stop duelling.
It happens in every game. People will pick on classes they think are weak, so they can have an ego boost. When you surprise them, then suddenly you're an exploiter, a cheat, or using cheap tactics.
Most people who lose to a player who uses all their abilities will find SOMETHING to complain about. "Oh, I'd have won if you hadn't rooted/stunned/knocked down/poisoned/whatever me." Pets are just an especially noticable skill and most people will see your pet and think that it will be doing tons of damage, because that's what happens when they fight a level 80 version of that creature in the wild. What they don't realize is that your pet in PvP has none of the bonuses it's wild cousins have, and is, by and large, significantly weaker. But to them, that pet you just pulled is the same has having 2 players beat on them, even though it's just a small part of your total damage. 2 entities versus 1, in their mind = unfair. Even though 1 of those entities really only = a minor DoT.
In WoW, my hunter runs into this a lot. Pets make up a significant chunk of damage in PvP until you're higher level, and without one, you're gimped. In addition, hunters have limited melee abilities that are designed strictly to slow or hinder an opponent so that you can get out of melee and back into range fighting. In addition, hunterscannotuse their ranged weapons and specials if the opponent is too close. So that means hunters, by design, are meant to find ways to kite an opponent and keep them our of their melee deadzone. However, whenever a hunter does that, people complain that you're a "coward" for kiting, and that you need to stand next to them and melee 1-1 in a "fair" fight (because that's how they have an advantage, so therefore, it's "fair"), even though hunters do almost ZERO damage in melee fights.
So yeah. Welcome to junior high online.

The majority of whineing comes from 3 factors and none of which are a CHs fault.
1. Since CHs are uber rare most players have no clue as to how to fight them, or lack the insight that old time gamers had when it comes to fighting. Focus fire on one particular target. When fighting a mob user its highly recommended that you seperate the mob and the master so you can handle in turn. If this requires useing burst run with terrain nav to seperate them thats what you need to do.
2. Many players plain up and forget that crowd control is an aspect of the game now. With the hype of best templates. Many players completely ignore crowd control. Maybe its because they are expert pullers, or they usually fight in groups. The net result is a template with lousey crowd control. Many players in the oversimplified system in place now simply lack the concept of balance and counterbalance. Being good in one area must equate to being bad in another.
3. Its poor sportsmanship on the part of the other player. Nobody likes loseing especially when they think they got an easy victory. I got this all the time post curb for dropping sprayshots on TKMs and nukeing their passive defense gold. I heard it all exploiter and cheater and cheap shot artist. They had a vuln I exploited it they died for it. I am willing to bet the poster met this type. They looked at him thought easy meat and promptly learned the age old motto. Where there is a will there is a way. A master marksman can kill a jedi with a cdef if he or she is just that clever.

Give them the same excuse that Jedi keep using...
"If you don't like it, change your template."
Really sad that some professions with way more cheap tricks available to them complains about someone who can deal a couple extra hundred damage per second which in my experience usually doesn't amount to much.
I sniped a Jedi from 60m while sending my kimo after him when the Jedi was already dealing with 3 others attacking him. Think my attack did any good? I was rooted and DB'd before I could blink.
The real question is do you actually think your kimo's attack did any good? I bet it did barely 100 damage per hit.

Okay, so I am a master CH on Kettemoor.. my Tusken raider. Also a Rifleman. I use a Tusken Rifle (hardly the best gun i nthe world), and wear no armor at all. It's purely for fun, yet I get dueled a lot for being Tusken. And, in fact, I win from time to time. But when I do, people get FURIOUS. I use a bunch of pets (like.. Squills or something, hardly a level 70 Kimo), and apparently it's "Cheap" to use pets in duels. What the hell? I spent those skill points like anyone else.. I could have used them on MBH or something to get more skill mods and special abilities... instead I got pets. Grr.. it frustrates me... anyone else have this problem?
/deathblow
That's how I would handle it
