i keep seeing jedi post, when they are defending their numbers, about how there are so many classes not in the SW universe that are in the game and CHer is often listed so. what are your opinions? Mine is simple there are CHers in the SW univer both in film and the EU. can't remember the name but there was a CHer working for jabba taking care of the Rancor, i think he was a novice though. and Talon Kadere (spelling) leader of the smuggler alliance was a Smuggler/CHer he had 2 pet wolves. oh and finally Han Solo was a Cher too he had a pet big foot called chewie hehe.

The most popular examples are the Jaaba guy liked you mentioned, Jacen solo is another biggie since he was probably part CH along with jedi, (Probably the empthay line coupled with pre-nerf powers tree i'd think) the fact that you saw ANY creature in the movies with a mount also indirectly hinted that there had to be at least a 0/0/0/4 CH doing that, so yea, we're part of the continuity :/.

Yup,

Any critter you ever saw with a saddle would indicate a Master CH lurking around somewhere...

WHO IS GOING TO KEEP JABBA'S RANCOR NOW?
WHO IS GOING TO TRAIN AND MOUNT TAUN TAUNS?
WHO IS GOING TO TRAIN OBIE'S VERACTYL?
WHO IS GOING TO MAINTAIN THE CREATURES IN THE GEO ARENA?

Part of the problem here is what I call the SW generation gap. Differing views of what is "Star Warsy" based on how you were introduced to the universe. The original trilogy, or the prequel trilogy.

There were FIVE active Force wielders and one latent in the original trilogy.

Five.

You can find at least that in front of the Theed starport entrance any time of the day or night dueling.

This game is set during the time frame of the original trilogy, not during the prequel trilogy. Jedi are supposed to be powerful and rare. In SWG they are as common as dirt.

Players are the extras from the movies. In the original trilogy, there were no extras who had light sabers. In the prequels they are everywhere. So there are different views on whether lots of Jedi running around showing off their flashlights is "Star Warsy" or not.

As for the argument about CH....

You had Jabba's CH, in the EU you've got Mace Windu as a CH. Han Solo had a pet krahbu.

And, yup,Talon Karrde was a smuggler/CH, finding Force nullifying pets. The howls of SWG Jedi would be loud indeed if ysalamiri were introduced into the game.

The gungans employed all sorts of creatures when they went to war. That's a whole culture of creature handlers.

Don't forget stormtroopers riding dewbacks, Han and Luke with taun tauns, and in the special edition's Jawas on a ronto. More recently we had Obi Wan on a veractyl, which was a selling point of the digital download. Lucas has said in interviews he wanted more creatures in the original trilogy, he just did not have the technology at the time.

Maybe he should go back and digitally re-do them again. This time make Luke and Vader do some flips and gymnastic moves during their fight. More space battles and TIEs (I always had a problem with the lack of TIE's in EpIV). And I guess to fit with SWG, add a few hundred more jedi and some swordsman and maybe a guy wielding a power hammer or two. Maybe some more krayts and Dantooine.

uh huh, CH's popin rancors outta their a$$es was really in the movies.

Many things about the prof aren't exactly cannon or "realisitic".

It's not like they could of coded ina way for pets to shuttle with you realistically since people barely travel realistically as it is, and you certainly can't just log in and expect 20 odd pets to be wandering around with you :/.

To many b!tch about jedi not being cannon atm or what not, this is why CH isn't.

The fact that you can even control many of these pets with no equipment or extra stuff is a miracle in itself.

Well certainly by being a video game they can't very well pretend that it's in a real-life universe like the SW movies, certain exceptions have to be made for the sake of gameplay, and whileSWG has probably made one or 2 or 10 or a million too many exceptions for the sake of easier programming, the general concept of the profession is still there and was seen in a somewhat limited amount in the movies. And come on, what kind of argument is "Too many jedi makes CH non-SW", just because one profession is out of place doesn't automatically invalidate everyone else.

so why does everyone complain about jedi?

I can come up with a list of things about almost every prof that is unstarwarsy or not cannon.
