thank you all.
I have one thing to ask. I always seem to get the same XP from a kill that my Creature makes... is that so? I mean.. it sould be based on how hard the mob it kills is. It mite just be me. Can someone answer that plz?

I too just made novice CH last night and thought i would say high as well, i am really just dabbling in it now, need to finish off smuggler is first priority, but i thought having the creature along for the griund would be good. I bought a 20 razor cat and ned to get the boxes to be able to control him, my question is what is a good creature,i can tame, to have at novice thatcan be half way decent in a fight. Thanks foryour time and any answers

The XP system is designed to encourage your pet to fight things that are about at its level (i.e. it rewards close fights). If there's too large of a power difference between your pet and what it's fighting, your XP gains will be reduced (dropping to 1 XP per kill at the extreme).

You get more XP depending on the level of your pet vs the level of the mob.
I.e. - I get 110XP from fighting chubas, with the same pet, I'd get 140XP from sevorrts. (not real, but only an example).
The more difference ^ gives more XP. Mobs with lower levels will get less XP.

Your pet only needs to register 1 hit on the mob for you to get the full XP on it. So what would be the best bet is to tame a baby, then head to a large NPC city. Then set up an "attack" and a "follow" macro. Then have the baby (CL1 or 2) attack one of the trash around the city. As soon as your pet registers a hit, you kill the critter.
You can attack a Squill with a baby cu-pa. The max XP you can get at a time is 2k.

Oh, and you only get the XP if your pet makes it out alive.
(Why, oh why can't I have an edit button?"

if your also doing phase 4 of the village be sure to have a good pet out also to help..i maxed my ch exp in 2 waves one day..outlaws are worth about 600, pirates about 1100 and thugs are the best at 2000 exp..but be sure there is a big group there and that the pet stims are ready, even if your pet is a tank.
