Close to when the (15min left) server warning should happen I spotted a spawn. I almost didn't start to kill it off since the timing would be tight. I sent my friend on Endor a tell and he encouraged me to give it a shot. After killing the 3rd I was in my datapad deactivating waypoints, figuring that this would spawn an adult like so many other attempts. I closed the window and there it was right in front of me. It's dark purple, which is exactly what I wanted, I can't believe this is happening.
(9min left) I eat my almonds put on my clothing and started taming, in the middle of the first tame attempt it agroed. I lost my first Arachne Widow to it agroing and then despawning so I was not going to leave the area. 8 minutes until the reset and I am in my AV-21 running circles around its spawn. Took almost3 minutes for it to drop agro and it decided to go for a swim in the river. As if the server reset timer wasn't enough it decided to swim just at the edge of the tamable distance in the water. As I am taming it swims out farther and I am out of range and fail.
Panic is setting in (5min left) passes on the screen, I try to swim to the other side hoping it would stalk me and that my maskscent would hold, it of coarse decided to go back to where I was just standing. I start taming again and fail. It gets back into the water, I am right on the edge of swimming and standing and I start taming again.
(4min left)If it moves out ofrange I don't think I will be able to lure it back to the shore in time. Right at the end of my 4th attempt (3min left)it slowly starts swimming away and I panic trying to get closer and fall into the water and start swimming the second I fell in I successfully tamed it!!! I think this has to be the most nerve wrecking thing I have experienced yet. I have this week off. I might post the screenshots later. They came out great.
My spawn was close to 2900 -823, between here and the shore of the river. I have been hunting these for over a month off and on. I figured I would have another month to go if not more. My best results for find them has been just east of the Nyax compound, just across the river from the static Sharnaf spawn. On Starsider there is the mother of all static harvester farms (SlagOmega) in this area. There are more than 500 harvesters from North of the Nyax compound to less then 1000m East of the compound. Spawns seem to be only appearing in a few areas which may or may not help with the Great Plains Stalker spawning I really don't know. In the past 2 weeks I gave up pistoleer again, and took up tka again. By far the best way to find these is to kill every lair in the area and force a spawn. You will have to work the spawns up from few and none, this area seems to be devoid of life most of the time. When nothing is in the area to kill I will kill off the static Sharnaf spawn and it seems to kick start the spawns in the area, I don't know why but that's what has worked for me. I was averaging one spawn every 3 hours when I was forcing them. Kill everything in a 500m circle or more, it's much easier to kill of lairs then it is to kill of spawns without lairs. Today I wasn't finding anything and lairs were being replaced with non-lair spawns so I started roaming before the reset, hoping to get lucky, this is the first spawn I have found this far out.
Ihave to say that this makes up for all my past bad luck and I do mean all of it.

I love these kind of tame stories - especially because they make the passion of the creature handler quite obvious
that bit highlighted made me smile!
Congrats chap on your tame! On 32 (adults) killed and no baby myself. One day...

Awesome job on getting your great plains stalker!
This is one of the best GPS taming stories I've ever heard! I've only seen and killed one spawn so far with no luck. One day I'll have one of those cats. One day..

My best capture story happened today. After beating on a spawn of prowling gurreks for two hours. I and another ch finally forced some babies to spawn. Hurriedly I started tameing first time fail. Nuts dont aggro on me. My hand to the enter key /peace already typed in. Then I noticed boom one had spawned. I am not buffed. I have been all torn up, and these nice guys have been makeing me feal like the worst scout ever all day long. As they would snap my maskscent at thirty meters, and would bolt on me for just looking in their general direction. If that were not enough they seem to dislike my pets in other words. They know I am the one to go after.
So here I am tame 1 failed there is an adult right in my field of view. I am maskscented, but doubt that will hold and if this guy jumps me the baby will join in on pounceing on me, and I will lose the shot at a tame. Since I will need my pet to put the mommy down, and the baby will insta aggro on that. Plus this is endor you cannot even pull a baby out without stumbling into another high level aggro spawn. So now my heart is pumping. Second attempt fail. Nuts, and as if on cue number two pops up, and I see on my radar the other ch is knee deep in another spawn of them oh hell. Third attempt Its a miracle I am still alive the next incap will be the third in ten minutes. If I go down I have a long ride to do. Long as in five thousand meters, and I will odds are have to start over again.
Third attemp failed again. Oh god I cannot take this now two more have spawned ten meters away, and one phantom runs on me. I came so close to bolting outof instinct. One more try just keep doing it your a dead man now anyway. No matter what you aint getting out of this one alive. So the best you can do is leave with this pet. Great the other ch just said good luck and pulled out a speeder. Even she knows my chances are near nill. The adults are all around me, and any aggro she does on them will kill me, or blow my tame. All the sudden you successfully tamed the creature. Atleast I will get something for this hell. Now all that is left to do is move. Since these guys are not going to wander off. Ever so slowly I move away being sure not to even con over them. Somehow miracle of miracles I actually walk away without getting incapped.
I usually have pretty good luck with tames. The only other awful tame I have had was when I tried to tame an arachne warrior baby seven times in a row to be shot down everytime, and then he aggroed on me. After I spent like three hours just to find him. Webmaster babies everywere but warriors rare like diamonds. Go figure.

Another great story. Congrats to you on your tame as well!
My hardest tame was my screecher. Boy, that agroed a few times... Now I miss the sound of it'swings flapping
But not to be OT - well done again!

Congrats m8 ..... and a great story ....
But i think you can tame while swimming ...... i was taming a grand wrix last week, when it warped ( again) into the middle of the ocean
..... so i swam up there, hitted the tame button, and tamed him.
I'm amazed about the fact that so many +people still see GPS's ..... haven't seen them in weeks .... maybe they vanished from Farstar :/
