I just bought the SWG game guide for 20 bucks! Yeha its a bit more expensive for a game guide but it helps. Well atleast NOW it does. With the combat upgrade pretty much the whole book is going to be wrong! Are you guys going to publish a new Guide? and is it possibl for someone who bought the one now to get a new one for free if we return this one? becuase i mean i dont have a steady income and ive invested a good but of moeny in this game....

I never thought about that Maybe you can quickly return it to the store you bought it, tell em you don't want it no more...the sooner the better.. I never found a use for a Book Guide, theres tons of players online and on the forums..

-I support a Galactic Civil War fought between regular, average players... Simply strict, hardlined Imperials & freedom lovin' Rebels fighting for control of the galaxy. A Galactic Civil War fought not with glowsticks or lightsabers, but with blasters, lances, and how much guts you have. A Galactic Civil War which reflects the timeline, the destruction of the Death Star, the absolute control which the Empire has and the brave Rebels trying to break up that reign... The extinction of all but a few rare and special Jedi. That my friends, is the Galactic Civil War and that is what we have to aim for.

MMO's and game guide books. It's a combination that has never worked and will never work. Sometimes the printed manuals from those games are out of date by the time the game is released. And even official online manuals get outdated quicker than the person maintanining it can keep up.

MMO's just evolve way to fast to keep up with every detail.

(I like -and try- to stay informed on as many things as possible and I sometimes spend more time reading the forums than actually playing the game!)

well not many mmo change thier whole concept of a game, and those who have is long gone by now, so i dont see swg living that long.

Yes, most changes are usually small or subtle. But the fundamental problem with printed guide books is that the time between the first draft and the moment theguide is for sale is sometimes rather long. And even more so if it's a translated version. And by that time it gets releasedit's full of small or large errors depending on how drastic the game got altered. The same is true with printed game manuals.

(I played Ultima Online for almost six years and that game had it's shareof drastic and less drastic changes too.)

Even for normal games the game guides aren't all that great. (Compare a game guide written from a late beta to the up-to-date information available at a site like GameFAQs or in the sticky posts on these forums.)

At least the game guide didn't cost you all that much, though if you can return it to the store you bought it from you might as well do so and get another book or game for the money.
