Hello, I have seen tons of bad stuff about the CU and agree 100% will all of it but I have seen almost nothing on who supports it. I have noticed that most of the servers are ghost towns? The Cantinas are emptyand malls once full of vendors and people shopping are empting out? In front of the main Starports there are 5 or 6 players when once you would find 30 or 40? I am just trying to figure out if there are so many supporters of the New SWG where are you at?

2 accounts cxld June 1st

This is for the guy that says only 50 people dont like it GET A LIFE! SOE even admits they have pissed of most of the players.

The Group thing well I DO NOT like being forced to group unless I am going up aganist hard stuff like in the DWB or going after Nova troopers (but even eith 8 people no chance in the DWB)

Yes I am still playing giving it a chance until my accounts die in June.

They have created so much lag now with all the kid like icons and effects.

I will give you a example I had over 80 players on my friends list there are 6 staying post CU (imp and reb) in different guilds so theres you 50 people right there LOL!

Jedi I have spent way to long unlocking my jedi slot to not be able to even grind any more just to get to the level were I can defend my self from BH's. A jedi should stand alone and well above all other players and proffs. The people that dont like that statment have no idea what it takes to get there. To stop Jedi from killing all the PvP people just put a timer on them like 3 or 4 hours a day they can go PVP.

If you like it have fun!

I think you are imagining things. Only a small vocal minority object to the CU - perhaps 50 people across the entire customer base. We've been told that this is the case, and who are we to argue?

Plus if so many people don't like it, why aren't the Forums full of threads from people complaining about it? I can only find threads in prasie of this marvellous update to SWG.

Any people you don't see in Cantinas, malls, starports are simply because the CU is such good fun, they are all out in the wilderness grouped up and enjoying themselves in this brave new galaxy. Think how lucky you are to be part of this!

maybe it is because I am on a very lucky server but:

1- my guild keeps growing, + some old players are coming back, 4 new applicants since CU.
2- I heard many people bitching about the CU, 1/3 of them said they would leave, I still haven't seen one actually leaving.
3- POIs are still full of busy people, many entertainers can be found in the same cantinas as before, I still haven't had any problem finding a group to group with for a hunt.
4- the only difference so far that I have noticed is coronet and theed starports. Not so many people as before. I explain it that way: no need to line up for hours to get a buff, no way you can loot uber insane dot lances soloing elders so all the spamming looters in coronet are gone too. Less lag, somewhat an improvement to the game.

Think positive, the only actual reason that prevents you from enjoying the new system is your negative and pessimistic state of mind.

Here's my two cents -

At first I hated the CU, didn't like being a noob again, didn't like the way melee characters seem to be a bit rubbish now, didn't like the new slower combat, didn't like being forced to group & didn't like the level system. Despite all this I persisted & still didn't like it, tried out new profs & still didn't like it, got to the verge of giving in (to the point where I'd cancelled the ROTW pre-order & sent e-mails to various people ingame telling them I was going to quit once I'd given away all of Rudy's stuff) then one afternoon out of sheer lack of anything better to do I logged back in, went out hunting & had a bit more fun, decided to give it an extended chance, took out some noob mates who also had fun hunting in a big group, went out pvping which was brilliant & started to get the hang of my newly specced toon a bit more so that solo stuff wasn't such a drag. Oh, one more thing, I spent a while playing WoW on my mate's account & realised that for all the bugs & hardships on galaxies it's still for me ten times the game WoW is.

I still think the CU's been a mistake, it's been badly implemented & it's using a sledgehammer to crack a walnut in terms of giving us a whole new system when the old one only really needed a bit of tweaking. I hate SOE for not paying more attention to people on this & for forcing a lot of old-school players to leave through their attitude on this but I've found that at the end of the day I can still love this game.

So to get back on subject, why do I like the CU? I was involved in a pitched battle at Theed starport the other night where we were engaged by imps, outnumbered & wiped out, then went straight back for more, more imps were going overt all the time & more reinforcements arriving for us, after 4 pitched battles the starport was ours, all of this would have taken hours with the old system, at least 10 mins per death to get rebuffed & massive expense, I'm sure that a lot of the participants wouldn't have got involved if they'd had to shell out 30k-odd for buffs & mind-buffs, the whole thing was a good example of what the CU does well.

Why else? Well I am oldschool enough to remember having to group when I was a noob & so was everyone else shortly after launch & dammit, it WAS better then. Now I'm stubborn & I hate being told what to do & it does rankle with me that now I'm being forced to group again but when I've done it it's been a blast & the rest of the time I haven't really struggled too much to solo most of the stuff I'd been fighting anyway, if anything a lot of it's easier.

Lastly, seeing a load more people running around with blasters instead of pikes is cool & very Star Wars & this is coming from someone who was a master Brawler/Fencer/Pikeman who's still carrying a bag with 11 useless pikes in cos he can't bear to destroy the pikes that used to make me a contender, not to mention the 2 million cred stun baton that's now not worth a thing. I was lucky, I was in a position to respec to level 80 & I had enough cash to buy new equipment, I've also been lucky that my guild has, pretty much to a man, stuck with the game post-CU & enjoyed it, that's made a big difference.

Now I'm just looking forward to some of the damn bugs getting fixed....

I like the CU because its more even a playing field now. There is alot, and I mean ALOT of bugs that need worked out. I agree whole heartedly with the complaints about it being forced on the community as a mass beta test. But all in all, its not a bad system. I like that you cant be a God with ridiculous stats post buff and armor and be untouchable. I like that the Jedi is a tough path that not many can follow-hint the Force only flows in a select few in the universe and should in game too. I just think that some issues need to be worked on faster than they are but all in all the CU has been pretty ok for me. I mastered 2 Brawler 4 boxes over the weekend SOLO hunting. It can be done once you get a feel for the new system.

My girlfriend loves the CU. Because I've since canceled both my accounts and we have much more "quality" time together.

Now I only log in until the account expires on May 25th in hopes SOE will do the right thing and rollback the old system. Coca Cola did.
