been trying to use the forum search for the last 10 minutes now but i only get following message
Sorry, the search service is currently unavailable.
Please wait a few minutes and try again.

Probably doing some database maintenance, which is fairly common. They've probably disabled it while the implement changes. Or even...fixes! Maybe Lithium is updating the software/database or whatever.
