Thread: Special Edition Goggles

Not sure if this would be the place to ask, but here goes.
Is there any plans on us normal peeps who weren't able to get a copy of the special edition to "purchase" either with in game credits or to get this as a vet award or something? Maybe even allow crafters to make em?
They look cool but I could not find a copy of the special edition when it came out...
Please make em available to us regular joes who couldn't wait to get the game but couldn't get their hands on teh special edition at time of release.

I just started my second accout to have an alt on Kettemoor and I opted for the Collector's edition, but TBH, the goggles (all 3 that you get) aren't as cool as I thought. Maybe there's different kinds per character that you make, as I vaguely remember seeing a set tinted red once, but the 3 I got aren't anything to wow about.
The stuff that comes with the Collector's Edition in the box is pretty cool though, especially the book of artwork

I completely forgot to answer your question... I highly doubt that there will be any plans for non-CE owners to get the goggles, as they are no-drop items, and AFAIK, they can't be crafted.
It would be really cool though if they implemented a loot drops of one of a kind goggles, but I doubt that will happen...

You can tint the lenses.
open the radial and wait for it to stop spinning around. Set Lense and Set Frame should appear on 2 of them (one only has lense color). dont be wearing them at that time or else your gonna have to stop, tak em off and do it again

for the original poster, They ARE NOT going to allow you n00bs and cheapos to buy the shades. You need to spend the $70.be happy they got lazy and are allowing you to get the Yacht in JTL. it should go to us who were in the game since day 3 (seeing how the game didnt work for 3 days)

I hear that. Forget giving the noobs vet rewards or our shades. They need to buy it like the rest of the world. You have to admit giving a 1 year vet reward to non-vet players (6months)makes us vets feel like we are not loved.

No offense but I am NOT a noob...been playing since launch...maybe I haven't been on since BETA but I think a full year playing is more than enough....
just because I have a low post count don't mean I haven't been playing since launch you idiot. It's just that I dont' see many topics worthy of responses, but if you want, I can flame you all day to increase my post count you ****

did you even read my post? They were all sold out and all that was left was the normal version of the game...so I got it.

Well, I'm not a "noob" or a "cheapo." I simpely didn't know that Collectors Edition owners would get special googles. To tell you the truth, I didn't even know the CE exsisted until one month after the game came out.
I'm a Day-One-Player, and I would be HAPPY to pay the extra $20 bucks for all the stuff and the goggles. But sadly, I doubt SOE will ever offer us such a thing
I even had a friend who bought the CE for his alt character, and asked a CSR if he could transfer the goggles to his main, but they wouldn't allow him

Actually the 1 year reward was for the game reaching 1 year, not the players. I think they made the right decision to give to all toons over 30 days old otherwise they would have had all the hate posts like during xmas with the holocrons.
Perhaps there will be a true Vet reward for people that have been playing for 12 months in the future, but hte anniversary paintings were to celebrate the games anniversary.

I have the goggles and they are nothing special. most of the time don't wear them and forget they are even there. lol

He was talking about the Yacht they're giving to anybody who has played for more than 6 months when JTL comes out (which is probably in about 3-4 months, so only people who have been playing for 2-3 months so far, which isn't quite a reward for those who have been playing since release).
But whatever. Better than getting nothing.

For all the people saying el cheapo shouldn't get it. I am not against paying (a reasonable fee) for the goggles.
It wouldn't be that hard if they added a little check box at log on.
Click here to purchase collector's edition goggles...maybe charge me 5 bucks or so (lets face it, the collector's edition is 20 bucks more cause 15 of that is the book) and you have your shiney goggles in game.
It wouldn't be that hard to implement...
