I have the w-whatever thing disabled, so now I can only type in the plain white box so I was wondering if theres a fix that will enable the firefox users to be able to use the graphical editor like everyone else..? Its really annoying not being able to use italix, bold, underline, colors and everything else without knowing the HTML crap associated with it.
Just wondering if theres a fix coming up for it, because firefox > internet explorer hands down.

Lithium has no interest in developing the forums to be 100% compatible with Firefox.

I'm still not sure what causes some people to not be able to use the
graphical editor with firefox, it must be a plugin or java version or
something. I use the graphical editor with version 1 and 1.2 of firefox
with no issues so i'll try some things maybe figure it out. I think
someone else posted about it but I cant find the post at the moment
While Lithium does not fully support firefox they do often make improvements to improve the usability of their forums with it

The thread in which we were trying to start to find a fix is this one. And I'd still be glad if you, GarVa saved one of the pages you can use the graphical Editor an and made it publically available. Or send it to me as an email. I just want to compare the JavaScript (not Java! You can use these forums without Java but not without JavaScript. Java and JavaScript have nothing in comming but a few characters in the name) I get and the one you get. Which Skin do you use for the forums? Maybe the one I use ("StarWars Galaxies") is broken? |

Exactly. IE is the worst web browser on the planet, is a security risk (many viruses and spyware programs use IE exploits to install on your PC), and just simply is obsolete compared to Firefox (tabbed browsing, where?). Every once in awhile I have to experience the web with Internet Exploiter at a client site, and I tell you, I'd NOT use the web rather than use it, the experience is so horrid with all the popups! SOE shouldn't be running a website that requires IE or is dependant on it for the security reasons alone. IE exploits could theoretically be used to corrupt or contaminate the SWG client. If GarVa would post the exact versions of what he's using, of FireFox, Java, and any other plugins, I could duplicate his setup and test. |
