Thread: Why can't SWG forums have graphic sigs like EQ and PlanetSide?

The message subject says it all. I play/played both PlanetSide and EQ and the forums allow graphic sigs but these forums do not. Is there a reason behind this?

I guess they think that it would lead to many "inappropriate signatures".
At this moment the relationship between SOE and the playerbase is not good, so many people would use it to protest.

Yep. Too much griefing.
To the Original Poster...there are numerous threads about this including response from SOE.

I understand your point, but people can and do protest with text signatures too. I know those are easier to police via keywording and filtering but anyone with a little creativity can get around that.
As it is, I pay for a Station Pass and like graphic signatures and would like the chance to use one here since they are available in SOE's other game forums.

However, if you go back and read the numerous threads on this topic, you will find SOE statement of why they won't do it.

Yeah - I did a forum search using "signature" and "signatures" to find SOE's official position, but have not found anything yet. I will continue looking.

We at one time allowed such things and people abused them to the extent that they had to be removed.

How about instead.. grant it to vet players.. You see at the forum rankings you get the edit feature after like a month being a member on the forums.. why not give the graphical sig after say.. 6 months or whatever |

Definitely too much work. And then there are some people that like to change their sig quite often (Waypoint changes, profession changes, ect.) |

even with external graphic sig's or maybe even like a pool of sig images we could choose from....hrm I could come up with tons of ideas....guys thats what i get for being a web design student

Ug...I hope they don't allow graphics on the SWG forums. The EQ and PS forums look like trash thanks to those pics.

Well GarVa, imho the community shouldent be punished for the action of a few idiots. Thats what moderators are for, controlling and catching people doing stuff thats not allowed and deal with them accordingly. At the Planetside forum they do exactly that, i see 0 reason not to do the same here. Punish those that do wrong, not the entire community. Just my 2cents.
