I look at friends list no ones on anymore. I go to cities that used to be bustling with activity no ones hardly there. You try to get help grinding I dont need it but I see peps begging for a group. Gorath is dying I think =( Im not sure about the other servers but its sooo sad. I know the games been out a while but Its so depressing even walking around our city and remembering all the peps as you walk by the houses and see the names. Houses being destroyed as the cond hits zero. Cantinas empty vendors with nothing to sell as all the items have went to the stock room. Im sorry to be such a bummer but theres just hardly no one on and nothing to do anymore. Walk around aimlessly looking for a red dot or something. Anyone remember the tat med center bustling the tat cantina bustling and the squill hunting parties heck anywhere in the galaxie you have to go to a MAJOR star port to c a big group on Gorath. If they can merge the servers they should think about it very soon.. Once again sorry to bum ya out just kinda depressing seeing this great game die a slow lonely death.. Maybe its better on your server I hope so.

While not all servers are as popular as the
others, they are not "dying" or deserted by any means. What happens is
people change their haunts. My server for example, 4 months ago Coronet
was so crowded you could barely move and Bestine was the rage. Now
Bestine and Coronet are empty but Theed and Mos Eisley are bustling.
There are also player cities, individual housing and kashyyyk to spread
people out. Joining some of the galactic chat channels may help
you if your looking for more people of your specific interest or go to
your galaxy forum and meet people there as well.

yeah, what he said.

I know on Lowca, Theed was the top hangout when i first started a year and a half ago. than a few months later everyone could be found in Coronet. but once the whole GCW city occupation thing started, most imps tend to hang out in Bestine instead. Kadaraa has become REALLY popular ever since the new BH missions. but the only constant has been the Dantooine Mining Outpost. That was packed back in the days of Solo-grouping the Janta/Mokk missions for cash, and now it's the best spot to find hunting grounds for getting xp.

I'd like to know why on the majority of servers Coronet is nearly dead now and Theed, which was popular before, is the main place to hang out. This is a Pre/Post CU difference. What happened to make Coronet change like that?

Ya, before I left everyone was at theed or coronet. Now they're spread mostly between the mining outpost on dantooine and theed.

I'd like to add GarVa to think about, what happens in future expansions when you add 1-2, 3 more planets. Unarguably, the servers are alittle emptier than they were.. People will be so spread out, it may be difficult to find groups of people.

It IS true that gathering places have changed since the CU, away from Cnet and generally towards Dant MO and Mos Eisley.

However, it is also true that the population on the smaller servers seems to be getting smaller. On Bloodfin I've noted an influx of people onto our server and into my guild who are starting toons here because they are tired of the tiny population of their old server. SOE has already consolidated servers on EQ2, and EQ2 is newer and has a larger sub base than SWG, so I'd never say never.

I know the places have changed where toons hang out I dont dispute that, we had to change as the population moved, condensed and char leveled up and prof became more defined. But like the guy above just said peps are leaveing for more populated servers or just plain quitting the game. Therefore the smaller servers are getting boring and as our friends leave rather it be to other servers or another game it leaves the smaller servers like gorath and a couple others really in sad shape. It just compounds the problem to have peps solicite you to come to another server or another game than you run around your dying city feeling all bad cuz no ones on anymore head to big planet big city still not the same if SOE did a head count Ill bet the could confirm it. I love the game hope someday soon we get some new blood with a merge of another small server be fun again =) Just need to try to hold the guilds together until than I geuss. IF I could move my Jedi over Id be gone Please tell me there not thinking of adding more planets to the galaxie in another expantion sooo much more they could do,if they add more planets make it more life like though we will travel the universe looking for life!!! lol wondering if I am alone in the galaxy... maybe not this week or month but if things keep going in the very near future.

On Radiant, Mining Outpost, Mos Eisley and Theed is "bustling" with "BUY MY BARC" and similar - yay!

Other than the last few remaining FS grinders (of who many now left because of the changes to the combat xp ratio) and the existing Jedi, most of the "bustling" that's going on is advertisement and "CL70+ only"-groups.

My input, and I'd like to add I'm in Europe so it may not be primetime when I'm on, but it used to be.

And I hear from my fellow american players that they experience the same.

How would the work?

I mean if they merge servers? Wouldn't one of the servers loose things like houses? I mean they can't just put everything from the smaller server over in the bigger one they would quite match up.

Would they make everyone redeed all their structures before hand? Or would one of the two servers just be out of luck and loose all that stuff?

Pardon my noobishness but never played an on-line game before this one and the whole concept is very curiouse to me.

Interesting subject though. I haven't been on long enough to see a difference yet in the servers that I play on since I came in post cu.

Oh, Cnet is still a big hangout on Eclips though.

Methinks the new house packup feature (coming in pub 22 or 23) and the new character transfer with items feaure are partly being worked on because they offer the ability to close a server down and allow the players there to move to another one...

I know this has been denied, and probably should be officially, but the fact that the capability to do a merge or move is being developed is a smart move, as doing a merge in this way would be far less disruptive than how it's done in other games.

And the house packup feature is darn nice, and something I've wanted to see for a long time.

Server closures and consolidations are inevitable at some point. They've happened in virtually every MMO that has ever been released, including EQ and EQ2.

Bria is kind of the same way (I was Hurth). Anchorhead used to be bustling with people, all my friends were there. If you were a rebel on bria, you knew people like Dudey, and xlmike. They are still on but most of my close friends left for Guild wars because of CU. Even my guild disbanded. Everytime I try to go back to bria, there is nothing to do, and I miss hanging out with the people I know. I only talk to one of those people now, and I IM another. The rest are on a TS server, and I think I will pay them a visit. The point is being on two galaxies and not being able to be with all of my friends makes me really sad. Some of us grew up, others quit, things will never be the same. If they do merge galaxies though, I hope they merge Bria and Bloodfin.

I herd about the packing patch comming. Wonder if they will let us pack up everything and move to a more populated server our choice if they wont do it. You know another thing they could do to bring more players to the game is maybe offer some sort of reward maybe a free month or something for refering a friend.Heck for what they charge a month why not give the game away lol =P Not a bright shinny game anymore love to see the game live on. A server merge would be what I would do first with the less popualted ones anyway make new friends new bigger guilds as many many of our friends have left the game.

Im also on Radiant and I usually play on Primetime but on my days off (during the week not weekend) Its also pretty busy in some areas. No matter where I go there are people, even when I go out into the wilderness I usually end up seeing at least 1 person. Radiant is not one of the "busy" servers by any means but there are more than enough people for sure.

Lets see... Naritus... Bestine is empty, Theed is empty, Kaadara is pretty much empty, Coronet is empty. Only popular place is Dant MO and its pretty skim there at off peak hours.

I think Bria is just fine the way it is. I don't think there is a need to merge it with anything.

I also think the idea of enabling us to do that with the house pack up feature is cool, but...

Why don't they focus on "Fixing The Game"

Why are the professions not getting a full fix? Why are the UI problems not being solved? Why not make UI dialogs more effecient and consolidate a few? Increase the ease of use of Vendors? How about fixing things before figuring out more ways to break the game?

PersonallyI think that the Dev's need to respond to the growing wave of dissatisfied customers rather than breaking the game even more. Don't misunderstand what is meant by dissatisfied,I enjoy the game, mostly. The problem lies in the fact that I don't enjoy all of it. My professions suck. Not because they are bad professions, but because of game balancing, lack of useful skills and mostly because they are broken or there are game deficiencies that keep me from being able to do what my professions are supposed to.

Sure would be nice if more people would be concerned about the state of the game then what new content is coming or whether there needs to be a merge. If a merge is necessary, its because the Dev's and management have created the situation by ignoring thier current customers.

Here is hoping the situation changes...

Understanding is a three edged sword, your side, thier side and the TRUTH

So much for a Smuggler revamp, maybe they should just rename us, it would take less time and be easy to do.
"Useless" would be my first choice as a name suggestion.

of course at this point there is no reason to revamp anything. SOE should just shut the game off.
