I have a question for you guys (and girls)... A group of us wanted to orginize a Parade. I want make sure the intention is understood... this is not to "take down the server" or anything like that. I am just trying to get a bunch of players together to do something that has never been done before.

I am talking to me fellow Gorath Server players to coordinate a Parade for everyone to have some fun and show off their rides or what ever other goodies they have up their sleeves.

I want to get approval to move forward with this event. I am willing to work together with you to insure this is a good experience for the players and the Gorath Server and SOE Staff.

AGAIN... please understand I want to make this happen just looking for your thoughts of this event.

Please strongly consider this as an experience that has never been done before that I know of in a gaming / online community event. This would be a 1st time ever thing.

I guess you could try to limit the chance of any problems by:

1) Dividing the route that the parade will follow into seperate area's for the public in stead of having all the watching players in one location.

2) Dividing the parade itself into groups and have a certain amount of time between groups.

It'd be a neat idea, try to keep it in a open area thats not completely surrounded around buildings, NPCS, and players..so Theed could work but its laggy as it is with all the buildings, might not work there.

-I support a Galactic Civil War fought between regular, average players... Simply strict, hardlined Imperials & freedom lovin' Rebels fighting for control of the galaxy. A Galactic Civil War fought not with glowsticks or lightsabers, but with blasters, lances, and how much guts you have. A Galactic Civil War which reflects the timeline, the destruction of the Death Star, the absolute control which the Empire has and the brave Rebels trying to break up that reign... The extinction of all but a few rare and special Jedi. That my friends, is the Galactic Civil War and that is what we have to aim for.

This would not be the first time ever, though it may be a SGW first. I've been involved with parade and city-wide events in Ultima several times. Sometimes they were more succesful then others. Our main issue in UO was those wanting to grief. To cut down on this and the server load, we held such events in the lesser used cities (yes we had those in UO too). Effectivly that ment that the only ones there were either in the parade or wanting to see the parade. Less chance of griefing, but it was still an issue.

We had a parade on Bria over a year ago. Sorry about the 1st time thing.

Hint: pick a city that is NOT heavily populated if you are going to get a lot of people involved.

SYN City on Talus, 2k North of Dearic would simply LOVE to host this event.

Talus, while growing is fairly quiet. Our city, while growing again, is too.

The city is Neutral and host to both rebels and imperials (seperate guilds)

My alt Jos'to is the Mayor and I would, again, like to offer our town as host to this event should it happen.

EDIT: SYN CIty was once host to the infamous BoB way back when -

it was the cloning center at the time for the rebels, of course that DID crash BRIA, HARD!

Your parade though won't be like that I am sure.

2nd EDIT: Another thought - SYN City is almost like the top of a triangle on the map with 2 other cities, Tyronis and Levitation.
Granted I cannot speak for the people of those cities, but it might make a perfect parade route...

Also - FX is always invited to any event at SYN City. FX and the original -SYN- guild had a relationship of sorts. Arca was host
to many of our scattered residents this past year when our own town nearly fell into ruin. A big thanks to everyone at Arca
for being a temporary home until those of us that remained were ready and willing to rebuild back at SYN. Apologies also for
any population hit you took as a few of us went back to Talus to begin this project. I know j'ahn and a few others are the people
you might remember from -SYN-, not myself, but I remember you all. /salute

Ahh, PAX did a parade on Scylla a long time ago, the parade went well, it was the fireworks show afterwards that blew up the server..

Tiggs... Thanks for the information and blessing to move forward. I will work together with you guys and give you a heads up.

I couldn't find anything about anything like the bad info from me... I think it would be cool.

As for some of you guys that actually had a parade before how many players showed up.
